Chapter 517: Making Contact with Him

Chapter 517: Making Contact with Him

A voice kept calling to Anno's ear, and her consciousness was being pulled by a force.

Seemingly realizing she was about to leave, the Shadow Zerg leader suddenly grabbed her hand, his eyes pleading, as if asking her to stay.

The prayerful voices below the altar grew more urgent, all raising their hands towards her and uttering the same words.

Anno couldn't understand what they were saying, but she could sense their feelings.

It sounded incredibly sorrowful, as if she were their only hope.

But now she must leave. She cannot leave her consciousness on this strange planet. She still has her people. She is the next queen of the Zerg. She cannot abandon her subjects.

She closed her eyes and, guided by Fei Xing and Anaya, her consciousness flew out of the planet. The stars began to recede, and the galaxy and universe transformed into streaks of light that flew past her.

After an unknown amount of time, her consciousness returned to her body.

"Nono, Nono!"

As soon as Anno opened his eyes, he saw Anaya looking at him with a worried expression.

She was lying in Anaiya's arms, her body now back to a normal adult form, and Anaiya was wrapping her naked body in a blanket.

She looked at her hands, and it took her a while to come to her senses. She felt a dull pain in her head.

She groaned softly, clutching her head, feeling a restless energy coursing through her body.

"It's alright, Nuonuo, it's alright."

Anaya held her, extending energy threads from her hands into her body to help regulate her somewhat disordered energy. Abiya also helped her regulate her energy, and the sacred tree emitted a shimmering light, relieving her discomfort.

After a while, Anno finally calmed down and leaned against Anaya's chest, letting out a long sigh of relief.

Anaya stroked her hair and asked with concern, "Nono, how are you feeling?"

Anno held her hand. "I feel much better, but it's like I'm still floating in mid-air. It feels very unreal."

"You just scared me."

Anaya said with some lingering fear.

Anno rarely saw Anaiya show such a frightened expression, so he figured she must have been in a really bad situation just now.

She had no idea what had just happened; she simply felt her consciousness floating and drifting in the vast emptiness of the universe.

Both times her consciousness landed, she felt like she was stepping into thin air, her body continuously falling as if plunging into a bottomless abyss.

It wasn't until she came into contact with Anaya's energy that she felt her consciousness being lifted up by a soft cloud.

"Sister Nai, what happened to me just now?" Feeling better, she stood up with Anaya's help.

Anaya said with a somewhat solemn expression, "Your body was becoming more and more transparent just now, and I could even see your core inside."

Anaya grasped Anno's hand. "I can feel you disappearing, and your energy is fading away. This feeling is terrifying. You are the Queen Insect of the Zerg, possessing two cores. Your energy is almost surpassing that of our Sacred Tree. Such powerful energy is gradually dissipating before our eyes. Nono, what did you see or touch?"

After hearing this, Anno rubbed Anaya's hands, which were still cold from fear, and said, "I saw the Shadow Insects, which are another branch of our Insect race."

After speaking, she shared information about the Shadow Insects with Anaya through a mind connection.

Anaya exclaimed in surprise, "So, does that mean your two races are now enemies?"

Anno nodded, then shook her head uncertainly. During her brief contact with the Shadow Insects, she did not sense any hostility from them.

Although the Light and Shadow Zerg are two different branches, they share the same origin. After so much time has passed, they still share some genetic characteristics with the Light and Shadow Zerg.

However, Anno could no longer understand their language, after all, so many years had passed, and the Shadow Zerg had abandoned the consciousness network.

However, Anno could still vaguely sense what they wanted to express. She couldn't quite put her finger on what it was, or if it was just a gut feeling.

She cannot apply some of the habits and characteristics of the Lightbringer Zerg to the Shadowbringer Zerg.

This is only the first time I've had contact with them. I'll gradually get to know them better as I have more contact with them.

She had seen the Shadow Zerg's galaxy, vast, but also oppressive and empty.

But their race is also very large. Over the years, they have taken root somewhere in the universe, but from what we've seen so far, they seem to have encountered some kind of crisis.

Perhaps their frequent appearances near Sivitlo in recent years are due to this crisis.

With the Shadow Insects on his mind, Anno walked side by side with Anaya out of the temple.

Abiya escorted them to the temple entrance, where she stopped and said to Anno, "Your Highness, things may not be as bad as you think."

Anno paused for a moment, then asked, "Elder Abiya, do you know something?"

Abiya lovingly patted her head. "I have only lived for a little over a hundred years. Given the lifespan of your race, I do not know more than Your Highness's family. However, I can feel that power. It is a power of devout prayer and longing for salvation. Your Highness's consciousness was left behind by a strong expectation."

"This consciousness is not aggressive or threatening. Perhaps, Your Highness, you could try to understand them first."

This was Abiya's advice to Anno. As an elder of the temple, Abiya guarded the sacred tree, and her consciousness was connected to the sacred tree. Through the sacred tree, she could understand and perceive many things.

Her perception was similar to Anno's, and Anno nodded solemnly, expressing her gratitude to Abiya.

Abiya's gentle, watery eyes gazed calmly at her, a faint smile playing on his lips.

After bidding farewell to Abiya, Anno and Anaya left the temple.

Caesar and the others were still waiting for her at the door. When they saw that she had returned to her normal size, they were all stunned for a moment. Then Mingxiao rushed to her happily, "Your Highness, you're back!"

Seeing Mingxiao's happy expression, Anuo raised an eyebrow and said leisurely, "What, you don't like what I looked like when I was a child?"

Mingxiao quickly waved his hands, "No, no, I absolutely don't dislike it! I'm just very happy to see the little prince grow up!"

Anno: "Why are you so happy?"

As soon as she finished asking, Anaya nudged her lightly with her elbow, put her arm around her shoulder, and whispered in her ear, "Nono, you didn't know this?"

Then, she drawled, "Of course, I want to gain the princess's favor."

Anno paused for a moment, then glanced at Mingxiao, then at Caesar and Secris.

He asked Anaya, "Don't you Tianyun people have a heat cycle?"

Anaya raised an eyebrow and said, "No, the Holy Spirit doesn't have it either. We only need it when we want it; we don't need this thing."

Anno nodded and said, "I do, but I'm not in heat yet, so I'm not very interested in mating."

Instead of mating during her heat cycle, she'd rather do something else that's more fun. Her role in such matters is simply to reproduce, not to have fun.

Anaya sighed and rubbed her face, saying, "Our Nono, it seems she still hasn't figured it out."

Anno doesn't think there's any need to figure this out; just do it when you should, and do other things when you don't have that thought.

Many of her thoughts are influenced by human thinking, but in this particular area, it is a very, very typical, even old-fashioned, Zerg-like way of thinking.

Caesar and his men were quite distressed, as the young prince remained completely unmoved on this front.

After bidding a temporary farewell to Anaiya, Anno and Caesar returned to their residence in their flying vehicle.

Tanvel's family members, who were waiting at home, showed the same expectant expressions as Caesar and the others when they saw Anno return to his normal form.

Anno, however, showed absolutely no feeling or response to their expectations.

She has very important things to do right now, and her mind is full of thoughts about the Shadow Zerg.

Bai Yan took out a set of clothes for her to change into. Fortunately, they were prepared in advance, knowing that the little princess might revert to her normal size at any time, so they had prepared a lot of clothes for her to wear.

Anuo had just changed her clothes when Bai Yan and the others had already prepared dinner. She checked the time; it was already six o'clock in the evening.

But she clearly felt that her consciousness had only left her body for a maximum of ten minutes, how could so much time have passed?

"Your Highness, what did you gain from your trip to the temple today?"

At the dinner table, the family members watched Anno eat somewhat absentmindedly and asked her about her situation in the temple.

Caesar placed his hand on hers. "Your Highness, what did you see?"

On the way back, Anuo didn't say a word, and they were a little worried about her.

Anno looked up and saw that all her family members were looking at her. She scooped up a mouthful of mashed potatoes, put it in her mouth, swallowed it, and then said to them, "I see them."

Tanvel: "Shadow Zerg?"

Anno nodded: "Yes, I saw their planet, their world, and I even made contact with them."

Upon hearing that she had made contact with the Shadow Insects, their expressions instantly turned solemn.

Making direct contact with the Shadow Insects would undoubtedly be dangerous for them, especially since this person is their young prince, making it even more dangerous.

Seeing that they were all sitting upright, Anno reassured them, "They didn't do anything to me, so don't worry."

Cyrus had been stationed on the outer defenses of Sivitro for many years and had considerable contact with the Shadow Zerg. He looked at Anno with concern and said, "Your Highness, the Shadow Zerg possess some kind of marking and locating ability. If you make direct contact with them, they may be able to find you directly."

After he finished speaking, Caesar said, "Even if they don't contact His Highness, they can still find him. More than two hundred years ago, they already found the breeding nest where His Highness used to stay. They have long harbored ulterior motives towards His Highness and will come looking for him sooner or later."

Tanvel nodded and said, "Caesar is right. Rather than waiting for them to arrive without knowing their purpose, we should try to understand them first. We'll just keep a close eye on His Highness."
