Chapter 77: Treatment
Luo Jin and Tang Ting rushed Anuo to the nearest hospital.
Seeing Anuo's distressed state, they managed to get to the hospital, which usually takes half an hour, in just ten minutes.
As the commander of the legion in the North River system, Locke was no stranger to piloting various fighter jets. Fortunately, the Green Hill Town area was mostly residential, and the air routes were not busy.
She flew the aircraft like a fighter jet, and except for the short distances during takeoff and landing, she practically swerved the steering wheel needle.
In just ten minutes, Anuo's allergy symptoms worsened, and she felt so itchy that she wanted to scratch off her skin.
But Tang Ting kept telling her not to scratch it. Her skin was delicate, and after she scratched it a few times, it broke a little. She was afraid it would get infected later.
She had no choice but to resist scratching, feeling itchy and painful all over her body, as if it were on fire.
She started having difficulty breathing before the aircraft even landed. The pollen she inhaled had entered her respiratory tract, causing allergic reactions all over her body.
Before the aircraft could stop, Tang Ting jumped down from the sky with her in his arms, landing steadily on the ground.
A row of medical staff stood at the hospital entrance. When they saw Tang Ting holding the Fire Seed Cub, the attending physician quickly went to greet her.
While on the way, Tang Ting contacted the hospital and explained Anuo's symptoms. Knowing that the Fire Seed cub was sick, the hospital urgently opened a green channel.
Medical staff were already waiting at the door, while various emergency equipment and medications were prepared in the special emergency room for the Fire Seed cubs.
As soon as Anno appeared at the hospital entrance, he attracted the attention of everyone around him.
They all sensed the energy of the spark, an energy that carried a distress signal they couldn't ignore, and they unconsciously wanted to follow this energy and protect her.
This is a special bodily mechanism of the Fire Seed. Whenever a Fire Seed gets sick, their body releases a special energy. This energy is like a machine; it is in a shutdown or dormant state when not in use, and it is turned on and started when needed.
This special energy signal is actually a self-preservation consciousness in the Zerg gene fragments of the Fire Seed. The Zerg are very focused on the collective race, especially during the larval stage, when this signal becomes even stronger. Once they encounter danger or are injured, their bodies will send out a signal.
This energy spreads outward like a strengthened signal, its aura detectable from a great distance. Like a lighthouse, it flashes continuously in the darkness, allowing its kind to find them.
"Dr. Tang Ting!"
The attending physician quickly walked up to Tang Ting and saw that the Fire Seed cub he was holding was covered in red rashes and was breathing very rapidly. Without saying anything else, he quickly led the way, while monitoring Anno with instruments as they walked, and simultaneously contacting other doctors in the emergency room.
Tang Ting looked at the test results in the attending physician's hand and told him about Anuo's basic physical condition and what medications should be prescribed.
Tang Ting carried Anuo and walked quickly toward the emergency room. People in the hospital automatically made way for him when they saw the little baby in his arms. Luo Jin and Tang Ting's parents followed behind.
The attending physician led them into the pre-arranged elevator and up to the emergency room on the seventh floor.
Upon entering the emergency room, Tang Ting placed Anuo on the ambulance bed. After watching the attending physician draw blood for testing, Tang Ting went to the disinfection area to wash and disinfect his hands. A minute later, Anuo's blood test results came out. Tang Ting quickly scanned the dense data and began to prepare the medication for Anuo using the fire-starting medicine they had prepared in advance.
Everyone present recognized Tang Ting. Seeing him efficiently preparing the medication, they all cooperated with him in an orderly manner, connecting the tubes from the medical equipment to Anuo.
When Luo Jin saw the cold gray and white color scheme of the emergency room, the various medical instruments, and the medical staff in white coats, and the transparent tubes being connected to her body on the hospital bed she was lying on, the painful memory that was almost etched into her soul resurfaced. She couldn't help but feel a sense of crisis and fear, and her body instinctively wanted to run away.
She struggled to get out of bed and rolled right off the edge.
Luo Jin, who was standing by, reached out and caught her, holding her in his arms and comforting her, "Baby, don't be afraid, Mommy and Daddy are here, it will be alright in a little while."
She kept stroking Anuo's hair, holding her tightly, and kissing her forehead, doing everything she could to make her feel at ease.
Anno was breathing heavily, her face buried in Luo Jin's chest, her hands gripping her clothes tightly.
The medical staff present were all specialists from the hospital's Fire Seed Department. Although they had not been exposed to Fire Seeds for long, this was the first time they had seen Fire Seeds so resistant to treatment.
Although the other cubs also felt uneasy and scared, they all sat obediently and received treatment.
The fearful look on the cub in front of them, along with the intense aura of danger emanating from it, made them hesitant to approach, fearing they might upset or frighten her.
Luo Jin sat on a chair by the bed with Anuo in his arms. He exchanged a glance with Tang Ting, who gently pushed the medical equipment in front of Anuo and knelt down in front of her.
"Baby, Mommy and Daddy will always be with you. Don't be afraid. When you get better, we'll go home. Your older brothers and sisters are waiting for you at home."
After sensing that Anno's emotions had calmed down, Luo Jin nodded to Tang Ting.
Tang Ting held Anuo's small hand in his own. Her hand was icy cold from being too nervous. He rubbed her hand for a while, then pulled down the tube on the instrument and gently inserted the needle into her vein.
After connecting the medication tube, Locke took her hands into his arms and wrapped her wrists in his palms to warm them.
Then she asked Tang Ting's mother, Doris, to bring her a blanket to cover her up.
Anuo felt safe being held tightly by her mother, and her nerves finally relaxed a little.
Seeing that she had relaxed a bit, Tang Ting picked up a few prepared vials of medicine, had Luo Jin pull down her clothes to expose her upper arm, and injected the medicine into her.
After administering the medication, there was still one breathing tube left that hadn't been put on her.
Actually, not wearing a breathing tube wouldn't have any impact; the medication would be fine. It's just that having a breathing tube in would make her breathing a little easier.
Tang Ting noticed that her breathing was still somewhat rapid, which was heartbreaking to hear.
He tried twice to put the breathing tube on her, but she turned her head away both times.
Seeing her discomfort, Luo Jin took the tube from Tang Ting's hand. "Let me do it."
She lowered her head and kissed Anuo's head. "Baby, shall we wear this? It's the same filter we used on Canghai Star last time, so it won't make you uncomfortable."
As she spoke, she carefully inserted one end of the tube into Anuo's nasal cavity. After the soft end adhered to her nose and secured it, she then clipped the two soft tubes next to the opening behind her ears.
