Chapter Three: Rampage
With a crisp crack, Anno felt a sharp pain in his gums and immediately released his mouth.
Depend on? !
Anno cursed inwardly, "Are this man's hands made of stone? How can they be so hard!"
Hicks was also taken aback; he hadn't expected the wild fire seed to react so violently, even showing signs of aggression.
He was covered by an energy shield, so even if you tried to cut him with a knife, you couldn't get a bite out of him. Even if he removed the energy shield, the Fire Seed's teeth wouldn't be able to bite through him.
Hicks chuckled and put the two broken teeth of the Fire Seed cub into his pocket.
Knowing she couldn't understand, he still comforted her, saying, "Your teeth will grow back. Be good and don't bite anymore. I won't hurt you."
Anno had survived the apocalypse for over a decade, and his mind was always on edge. Especially when facing a man with such strong energy, all he could think about was escaping—it was a survival instinct.
Hicks, fearing she would feel uneasy, didn't hold her too tightly, giving her the opportunity to pounce on his face and scratch him hard before jumping off his shoulder.
Fortunately, she had trained before. Although her body was not the same as before, her training instincts were still there.
As soon as she jumped, Anno ran towards the factory gate.
Fink and Apak, who were guarding the human traffickers, watched as the tiny cub ran towards them. The two translucent, glowing whiskers behind her ears, a hallmark of the Fireseed, swayed as she ran, and her slightly pointed ears stood frozen in place.
It really is a seedling cub?!
They couldn't help but get excited. Seeing Hicks behind the Fire Seedlings, they immediately reacted and tried to stop Anno.
As soon as the two made a move, a low growl of a wild beast came from behind them, followed by the sound of the cage breaking.
The two turned around sharply and saw that the fire dragon had torn the specially made cage to shreds. It had already become half-beast, with its limbs turning into dragon claws, a dragon tail growing behind it, and its eyes turning into vertical pupils. It spewed a mouthful of dragon fire at them, and the two quickly dodged.
When Hicks saw the Fiery Dragon go berserk, his eyes darkened, and he flashed to Anno's side. Just as he was about to reach out to grab her, a burst of dragon flame shot towards him.
Fearing the flames might accidentally harm the cub, Hicks pulled her into his arms, turning his back to the dragon flames and letting the flames spray onto him.
Anno nimbly broke free from Hicks's embrace and tried desperately to run towards the door.
Hicks tried to grab her back, but the fire dragon monster pounced on him and tore him apart like a wild beast.
Max reacted extremely quickly, covering his entire body with nanotech armor, but even so, the fire dragon still managed to bite off a significant portion of it.
"Boss, this Flame Dragon mutant is too aggressive. It's an A-rank, and our anesthetics aren't working!"
Fink fired several shots at the Fiery Dragon mutant with a tranquilizer gun, but the tranquilizer bullets couldn't even penetrate its skin.
Anno hadn't run two steps before Apa caught her. Apa put his hands under her armpits and lifted her up, his hands clamping her down like a pair of pincers, leaving her to swing her arms and legs in vain.
When the Flame Dragon saw Anno being captured by Apa, it let out a low growl and pounced on Apa.
Afraid that he would hurt the cubs, Apa took a swipe of his claws, making him wince in pain.
The little fire dragon lashed out with its tail at Apa's back, the force of which nearly shattered his back.
Luckily, he had some kind of defense, otherwise he would have lost half his life today.
Afraid of hurting the cubs from pulling on each other, Apa didn't dare to use force. He loosened his grip slightly, and Anno was snatched from his hands by the little fire dragon.
Yanlong moved with lightning speed, and in the blink of an eye, Anno was in his hands.
Apa tried to go over and snatch Anno back, but Hicks grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back.
"Don't move, wait for this fire dragon to calm down."
With that, Hicks pressed the button on the energy gun that Fink was aiming at the little fire dragon.
Anno was placed on the ground by Yanlong, who stood in front of her, his back to her, pacing back and forth, watching Hicks and the other two warily.
His violent energy had just been calmed down by Anuo, but it was only after seeing Anuo running away in a panic and sensing her unease that he started to go berserk again.
Seeing that Hicks and the others stopped moving, the little fire dragon crawled on all fours to Anno.
Apa and the others were so frightened they almost had heart attacks, but they dared not provoke the fire dragon.
Anno sat on the ground, leaning against the wall, looking at the beast-like boy in front of him.
He had transformed into a half-dragon form, with all four limbs resembling dragon claws. A long dragon tail swung across his body, and a pair of dragon wings folded up and dragged on the ground. Only his face still retained a human form, though it was covered in dried blood, the result of the struggles and bites he had endured when he was captured.
Although Anno was a little nervous, she was not afraid. In the apocalypse, there were mutated and terrifying creatures everywhere, and the person in front of her was just a child.
She had a strange feeling that the boy in front of her wouldn't hurt her. The energy within him was surging and restless, and she wanted to help calm him down.
She thought it was her idea, and that's what she did.
Just like before, a gentle, warm energy that only she could feel burst forth from her fingertips and flowed into the boy's body.
The antennae behind her ears also shimmered, with tiny glimmers of light flowing within them, like a dazzling galaxy in the night sky.
The boy's vertical pupils returned to normal human pupils, and his restless aura subsided.
"Don't be afraid..."
The boy spoke to Anuo, his dragon claws, which had not yet fully transformed back, gently grasping her hand and pressing it against his face: "I am yours, don't be afraid."
Seeing the boy's docile appearance, Anno wanted to ask him his name, but when she opened her mouth, she realized that she could not speak their language, but she could understand it miraculously.
Looking at the features of these people, their strange weapons, Hicks's nanotech armor that could change shape at will, and the howling blizzard outside the door, Anno now fully understood that he had arrived in another world.
She died in her original world, but was resurrected in another strange world. This world is somewhat similar to the post-apocalyptic world she lived in, with mutants and strange species.
"Huo Yin, my name is Huo Yin."
Anno looked at the boy holding her hand, his voice a little hoarse, but his tone very gentle as he spoke his name to her.
Seeing the Flame Dragon mutant become completely calm in front of Anno, Apa and Fink exchanged a glance, both seeing the shock in each other's eyes.
This young fire seed, who looks only two or three years old, was able to calm down a berserk A-level fire dragon mutant, which shows that her purification ability is very strong and she is a very talented fire seed.
