Chapter 363: He's My Brother
Anno's attention was focused on the aircraft, and when he heard what he said, he casually hummed in response.
"Don't you like my raincoat?" Xi Mo asked again.
Anno glanced at the raincoat she was wearing and then remembered the rabbit raincoat that Xi Mo had given her to wear before. She had taken it off when she entered the venue, and Sitar should have put it away for her. He wouldn't throw away her things, even if they were given to him by someone else.
She thought for a moment and said, "My...brother, he gave me this raincoat. He put yours away. He was in a hurry and just grabbed this one."
She originally wanted to say it was her boyfriend, but Sitar was different from the others, so calling him her boyfriend felt strange. The word "husband" also felt a bit odd. She couldn't very well say he was her royal husband, since she was just an ordinary Gemini.
She went through it in her mind, and somehow the word "brother" just popped into her head; it just felt natural to say.
"elder brother?"
Xi Mo's voice and Sitar's voice in her consciousness rang out at the same time.
One was filled with surprise and curiosity, the other with a touch of playfulness and doubt.
Xi Mo's lips curled up slightly. "Is it because your brother came to see you today that you're going home for dinner?"
His tone sounded much more relaxed.
Xitar could hear what Xi Mo and Anuo were saying through Anuo's consciousness, and Anuo knew this too. She coughed and said, "...Yes."
Sitar's voice echoed in her mind, "I didn't know when I became your brother."
His voice was devoid of emotion, but Anuo felt a strange sweat break out on his back.
She explained, "I've noticed that many girls in the college call the people they like 'brother,' and you're so much older than me, so it's not wrong to call you 'brother.'"
Forget calling him "brother," Sitar's actual age is enough to make her her great-grandmother.
She made a small internal complaint, which Sitar caught perfectly.
He said leisurely, "I seem to remember someone saying that they like small male insect kings, but now they're calling me 'brother'."
Anuo: "Don't be jealous. Xi Mo knows I have a boyfriend. I've told him that I won't accept a man from outside my own clan."
Sitar stared at the big screen, tapping his hand lightly on his knee, and said, "You even know the word 'jealousy.' It seems you've indeed learned quite a bit here. Not bad."
Anno: "..."
Why does this not sound like a compliment?
After repairing the last part, Anno patted the aircraft and said to Xi Mo, "Alright, let's hurry up."
Xi Mo nodded and said to her, "I'll take you and Molly to the portal first."
“No need, I can protect myself and Molly, you hold on.” She shook her head, her expression resolute.
Aircraft competitions are a race against time; there is no room for delay.
Having known Anuo for over two years, Xi Mo knew that once Anuo was determined, nothing could sway her, so he didn't say anything more. There were rescue teams nearby, so they wouldn't get into any accidents.
He folded his wings, quickly started the aircraft, and continued to catch up with the race.
Anno checked the time. Based on Xi Mo's level, barring any unforeseen circumstances, he should be able to finish the rest of the race in ten minutes at most.
A staff member helped them open a portal. She went up to the staff member and asked him to open a portal to the finish line. She waited for Xi Mo at the finish line, where the other members of the Star Team were also waiting.
The staff helped them change the location of the portal to the final stop.
The finish line was on the other side of the coast, where many spectators braved the rain and storm to wait. The rain and storm did not dampen their enthusiasm; in fact, they made it even stronger.
Colorful flags printed with the names of the participating teams fluttered in the wind and rain, and the excited shouts of the audience made this ordinary summer league feel like a carnival feast.
The other members of the Star Team waved happily to Anno and Molly as they approached.
The two girls took the team's small flag from them and waved it together while watching the projection on the big screen in front of them.
"Ahhh, Xi Mo caught up!" Molly grabbed Anuo's arm and shook it excitedly.
Anuo was also happy for Ximo, waving the small flag in her hand.
She used to only like modifying vehicles and mechanical engineering, but after joining Xi Mo's flight team and learning about aircraft competitions, she gradually came to like the exciting atmosphere of such competitions.
Her attention was entirely focused on the competition, and she forgot about one of her male insect kings in the arena.
Xi Mo won by a fraction of a second, his aircraft trailing black smoke as he crossed the finish line.
The Star Team members excitedly ran to his spaceship and surrounded him, cheering and celebrating.
As Xi Mo stepped out of the aircraft, his cool and aloof expression softened with a gentle smile at the joy of his teammates.
The organizers awarded trophies and medals to the top three finishers at the finish line, and the members of the Star Team tacitly gave the middle position to Anuo and Ximo.
Xi Mo glanced at the girl standing beside him, his hand lightly resting on her waist.
The procedure after each competition is the same: receive the award and then take a photo.
As Anno stood on the podium, he sensed that Sitar's consciousness was not far ahead.
Following her senses, she saw Sitar holding an umbrella in the crowd.
In the past two years, he has grown quite a bit taller, and with his unique temperament, he stands out in a crowd.
He stood there quietly watching her, watching his future queen grow up happily.
After Anno and the other officials finished taking their photos, they wiped the rain off their faces and ran up to Sitar.
"Look, the medals."
When she presented her prize, she held up the gold medal to show him. Although he had seen many of her medals in videos over the past two years, she still happily shared them with him.
Sitar released the umbrella, letting the smart umbrella float automatically above their heads, and took a towel from his backpack to wipe the rain off her face.
The rain gradually subsided, and the sun's rays shone through the gaps in the clouds.
Sitar carefully dried the rain off her face and neck, took off her raincoat and hung it in his hand. As expected, her clothes underneath were wet. "You're wet too. Go back and take a hot shower."
"Xiao Nuo".
A member of the Star Team stepped forward and said to her, "Let's go have a meal together."
Anuo smiled faintly and declined, "I want to go home with my...brother to eat."
"Your brother?"
The team members glanced at Sitar with some surprise. The man was extremely tall, handsome, and imposing, yet he looked quite young.
"I thought this was your boyfriend again," one of the team members joked.
Xi Mo looked at them thoughtfully.
Anno felt Sitar's swaying consciousness in front of her, and the hand that was gently stroking her waist.
He nodded to his teammates: "That's right."
"Huh?" The team members were dumbfounded. It really was true?
Xi Mo paused, looking at her with a questioning gaze.
Anno scratched his head, wondering how to start the conversation, when he heard Sitar say, "I am Anno's fiancé. We are childhood sweethearts, and she has always liked to call me brother since we were little."
