Chapter Thirty-Nine: Caesar
Locke and Bright were also jolted away by the electric current. Locke was jolted back a few steps, and a large hand steadily supported her from behind. She looked up and saw Tang Ting.
Tang Ting's expression was also not good at this time. He was also suppressed and affected by the sonic weapon, and he struggled all the way to the main control room.
With a grim face, he swung an energy longsword from his hand and attacked Bright.
Bright had no intention of fighting them here; if he weren't worried about hurting the cubs, he would have used more powerful weapons.
But seeing that Luo Jin and Tang Ting could withstand the suppression and fight him, they would recover in a minute or two, and then they wouldn't be able to take the Fire Seed cub away.
Without thinking twice, he took out a few explosive balls and threw them at Locke and Tang Ting, then lunged at the Fire Seed Cub, using his body to shield her from the shrapnel.
The explosion lit up the eyes of Lokin and the others. At that moment, they had only one thought in their minds: to protect the cub.
Anno watched as Bright threw the explosive ball, the explosion in the control room, the flying debris, and the desperate rush of Locke and Tangting all slowed down in her eyes. Her heart pounded, and she could clearly feel death approaching.
In that instant, the bodies of the people rushing towards her were all shaken away by something, and the flames of the explosion were blocked by an invisible wall.
A tall, slender figure appeared in front of Anuo at some point. He was so tall that she could only see the outline of his delicate chin when she looked up.
The person in front of her was wearing a fitted combat suit, with long, silver-white hair cascading down his back, seemingly shimmering in the firelight. He knelt down in front of her, and his long hair fell onto the carpet.
The person in front of her spoke to Anuo in a clear, magnetic voice, but she couldn't understand it.
When Anno heard his voice, her gaze moved from his long hair to his face, settling on his golden eyes.
Those eyes are simply too beautiful; the golden pupils are like the rising sun in the morning, exuding an indescribable gentleness.
His expression was calm as he looked at her, but the corners of his eyes were slightly upturned, as if he were smiling. His eyebrows and eyes were very sharp, but they were softened by his gentle eyes, making him seem much more approachable.
His pale lips were slightly upturned, and although he exuded a powerful aura, the oppressive feeling was softened by his delicate yet gentle face.
He looks like someone who rarely gets angry.
If someone is always tense, doesn't like to smile, or has a cold personality, having such a face will give people the impression of being sharp and unapproachable.
However, the temperament and expression he displayed completely dulled any sense of sharpness.
Anuo saw the man in front of her speak again, and she still couldn't understand what he was saying, but strangely enough, she seemed to understand what he was saying.
It seems he wanted to introduce himself to her?
Anno sat on the carpet, watching him open and close his mouth, occasionally taking something out of his pocket and placing it in front of her.
They were all shiny, gem-like stones, emitting a faint glow, which were very beautiful.
She looked somewhat confused and scratched her head.
Despite being a very wary person, she didn't feel the need to be wary of this man, even though it was the first time she had met him.
She even wanted to communicate with him.
"you......"
As soon as Anuo spoke, the man in front of her fell silent, looking at her intently with a hint of expectation in his eyes, waiting for her to say something to him.
Anno didn't know what she wanted to say. He definitely couldn't understand Earth languages, and the language he spoke was different from that of Lokin and the others. When she talked to him, it was like they were speaking different languages.
She shook her head at him and said in the language of the Northern River system, "I don't understand."
When Caesar heard the little cub in front of him speak, the smile in his eyes faded slightly.
Damn it, their little queen bugs have been stolen for so many years, their genes have been fused and modified to adapt to the North River system, and they can no longer understand the Zerg language.
Thinking of this, Caesar felt a little regretful. He had just introduced himself to Little Queen Insect, highlighting all his best qualities, hoping to become her vanguard.
However, the little queen insect is not yet able to connect with him, and if he forcibly takes her away, it will frighten her.
When he found her, he had tidied himself up from head to toe. He was planning to fix his hair, but the group of Beihe people started killing each other again, which was going to affect his little king insect. He didn't have time to change into a better outfit or take care of his hair before rushing over.
Hopefully, the little king worm won't dislike him.
Anno saw that the man didn't move and stopped talking. She stood up and looked past him to look behind him.
It was still ablaze with fire, with flying debris and shattered instruments revealing sparking wires.
She could sense the energy of Lockin and the others, but the soundproof barrier was still open, so she couldn't hear any sounds from outside.
Caesar, seeing the worry in her eyes, said, "Wait a moment."
He stood up, preparing to resolve the suppression caused by the formation of the Electro Beast cub.
When Anuo heard him speak again, she turned her gaze to him. She saw him raise his hand, and a strange energy burst forth from it. She sensed that this energy was domineering and dangerous, and her sense of crisis finally made her alert.
Fearing he might do something to Luo Jin and the others, she took a step closer to him, instinctively trying to suppress his energy, and reached out her hand to him, saying, "You, stop!"
She spoke those words with an unconscious commanding tone, and even she was taken aback afterward.
As Caesar watched the little queen beetle approach him, he took two steps back, retreating directly outside the shield, his face revealing a restraint that was completely out of character for him.
In truth, Caesar was barely able to contain his excitement. He didn't show it on his face, but quietly put his hands behind his back, took off his gloves and threw them into the fire. Then he squatted down in front of Anno, reached out his hand to her, and lowered his head slightly.
In order to keep the little queen insect wanting to command him, he did not let the energy in his hand dissipate, and he longed for her to touch him.
Anyway, the burst of energy that just spread out had already calmed down the Electro Beast cub.
Anuo looked at the man's outstretched hand and, recalling the tone of her voice when she spoke to him, inexplicably raised her hand and touched his fingers. A thought popped into her head: "Take it back."
It was still her uncontrollable commanding tone.
Caesar's hand trembled slightly when he was touched, and the energy in his hand dissipated like a burst bubble. He closed his palms, hiding the warmth from his fingertips in his heart.
He took a slow breath and looked up at Anno. "As you command, my king."
