Chapter Ninety-Nine: Ji Yu
As soon as Anuo fell to the ground, the people who had been silently watching instinctively reached out to help her up.
Karina and Wenye strode forward and quickly lifted her up from the sand.
"It's okay, my little one. Blowing on it will make it stop hurting."
Wen Ye placed her on the sand and stood her up, patting the sand and coaxing her.
The sand is thick and soft, so she won't get hurt.
"Little Qi is so good."
Seeing that Anuo was calm and didn't cry, Wen Ye couldn't help but praise her.
Karina took out a tissue and wiped the sand off her face. "Little Seven rarely cries."
Wen Ye's gaze swept back and forth across their faces, and he smiled, "I feel like Xiao Qi's personality is a bit like yours."
"Is that so?"
Karina looked at Anno with an unusual gentleness in her eyes, "Xiao Qi has a better personality than me."
Wen Ye looked at her intently, a gentle smile in his eyes.
After wiping her face clean, Karina adjusted her hat, patted her head, and said, "Go play."
Anno continued running towards the shore. The surrounding tourists watched the small, cute figure with smiles, not daring to disturb her, but their eyes couldn't help but linger on her.
Only a few Fire Seeds are born each year, making them extremely rare. These tiny cubs are kept at home and raised with great care, and are rarely seen outside.
Even in the capital of the main planet, they hadn't seen a Fireseed cub as small as Anno in a long time, and she was much smaller than other Fireseed cubs of the same age.
Anno ran up to a gray otter. Sensing Anno's energy, the otter, which was sunbathing on its back, lazily opened its eyes and looked at her.
The tucked-up tail stretched out and swept over her body, then stretched its body out even more, with its arms and legs wide open, as if it were ready to let Anuo pet it.
When Anno saw it like this, she smiled and reached out to touch its soft belly.
After being touched twice by Anno, the gray otter couldn't help but wriggle and roll on the ground, pressing itself against her.
When Huo Yin arrived, what he saw was Anuo being hugged and rubbed against by a gray otter.
Several beast and alien cubs, all between five and ten years old, surrounded her.
The cubs surrounded her, talking to her incessantly. Several of the beast cubs even rolled around at her feet, transforming into their beast forms to try and win her favor.
There were quite a few tourists watching nearby, and they were all captivated by the adorable scene.
"The little one is so adorable."
The young man who came with Huo Yin said.
This boy was Huo Yin's cousin, Ji Yu. Because Huo Yin was still young, it was better for him to go out with someone. He didn't like his elders always following him around, and since Ji Yu was on vacation, Hailier called his nephew over, thinking that they weren't too far apart in age and could talk to Huo Yin.
With a smile on his lips, Ji Yu watched as Huo Yin, with a cold little face, walked towards the cub. His gaze also shifted from the cub to Karina, who was standing to the side watching her.
Upon seeing Karina, his smile deepened, and he strode towards her.
"What a coincidence, Karina."
Hearing the voice, Karina turned her head and saw that it was Ji Yu. She gave a nonchalant "hmm".
Then a hint of doubt appeared in her eyes as she saw Huo Yin, who had come with him.
Seeing the doubt in her eyes, Ji Yu smiled and said, "As you can see, Huo Yin is my cousin, Hailier is my uncle, and Commander Luo Jin works with my uncle. You should know that."
“I know,” Karina said.
She simply didn't pay attention to his family affairs; once he said that, she understood.
Standing next to Karina, Wen Ye saw that Ji Yu's expression remained unchanged, only the smile on his lips faded.
This peacock really loves to get close to Karina.
"Wenye, you're here too."
When Ji Yu saw Wen Ye, he greeted him in a relaxed tone.
Wen Ye: "You have good eyesight, you've seen me now."
Ji Yu smiled slightly: "I couldn't help it, my attention was drawn to Karina. Anyway, we've known each other for a long time, you won't be angry about such a small thing, will you?"
Wen Ye chuckled, but the smile didn't reach his eyes. "Of course not. After all, it's the season for you peacocks to display your plumage. You're in heat wherever you go."
Ji Yu wasn't angry after hearing this, and still smiled. "What are you saying? I'm a different species, unlike you beasts who are governed by genes. You suffer even more during your mating season, don't you?"
Wen Ye rolled his eyes inwardly and sneered at him, "What, you've started discriminating against animal species now?"
Ji Yu: "I'm stating a fact. There are undeniable differences between beast species and alien species."
His words were pointed, and he looked at Karina as he spoke.
Karina completely ignored their barbed conversation and didn't listen to what they were saying. Her eyes were fixed on Anno, who was playing with the gray otters and other cubs.
Anno initially only petted the gray otter, but seeing so many little cubs that had transformed into various animals surrounding her and constantly rolling around in front of her to please her, she couldn't help but move her hand away.
She prefers spending time with children to adults because they pose less of a threat than adults. Even the children from the apocalypse in the past would at most try to take food from her, but later they all started to fear her and even offered her food, calling her Sister An.
Her hand had just been placed on an adult-sized cat when it was grabbed by a hand that came from the side.
It was a familiar scent to her.
She looked in the direction of the hand and saw Huo Yin.
Huo Yin took her hand and pressed it against his face as usual.
Anuo touched his face, as if soothing a small animal, "You've come, Huo Yin."
"Yes, I'm here."
As he spoke, Huo Yin glanced to the side, and the dragon horns that had been put away suddenly reappeared, along with the aura of a dragon.
"Woof!"
A puppy with canine genes was frightened by his presence and yelped, then tucked its tail between its legs and ran back to its parents.
The other cubs scattered in panic, some of them crying when they returned to their parents.
Huo Yin saw that the little cubs surrounding her had all run away, and turned her gaze back to An Nuo, her eyes softening instantly.
Anno watched as he scared away all the cubs, then pinched his pretty little face. "Don't scare people."
Huo Yin hummed in agreement. "They're just cowards."
Anuo smiled but didn't say anything. She knew Huo Yin had a somewhat domineering personality, so she let him be and never lectured him.
In the past, she would simply brandish a knife and tell anyone who came near her to get lost. Huo Yin's little bit of intimidation was nothing compared to her.
She does like gentle and obedient men, but that's only for her personally. Towards others, she needs to be a bit more assertive so she won't be bullied.
