Chapter 124: The Queen
As soon as Tang Ting opened the door, he saw Huo Yin standing at the door holding a skateboard and a toy fighter jet in his hand.
He smiled and said, "Little Huo Yin, you've come to play with Nuonuo? Have you had dinner yet?"
Huo Yin shook his head, his gaze passing over him as he searched for An Nuo's figure in the living room.
Tang Ting let him in, led him to wash his hands, and gave him a bowl and plate to sit next to Anuo.
Huo Yin held Anuo's hand and pressed it against hers. "I got you a new fighter jet, don't be sad."
Anno texted him today saying that her fighter jet was damaged in a crash, but her father has already taken it to be repaired.
This is a fighter jet that Huo Yin gave her, and she likes it very much.
Huo Yin could sense her sadness from her short sentence. After searching for an entire afternoon, he finally found an identical one.
After dinner, Huo Yin and she disassembled the fighter jet in the living room and replaced some internal parts.
Tang Ting had just finished clearing the table when he saw Hailier calling him.
Hailier asked, "Dr. Tang, is my little brat at your house? He's not answering my calls."
Tang Ting: "Yes, Huo Yin is playing with Nuonuo. He has already had dinner at our house."
Hailier chuckled helplessly, "That little brat Huo Yin really only has eyes for your little darling. He rarely talks to us at home."
Tang Ting smiled as he looked at the two little ones huddled together, but then his smile faded. He said to Hailier, "Commander-in-Chief, I have some questions for you. Would it be convenient for you to come out and talk to me face to face?"
Hailier almost immediately thought it might be about Anno, and said, "It's convenient, but you'll have to find a suitable time."
Although Hailier was straightforward, he had lived for hundreds of years and knew that the higher-ups were not being simplistic about Anno's situation.
Although Arad has stated that he will take good care of Anno and send her back to the Zerg, there are still a few people among the group from three hundred years ago who have different opinions on this matter.
Aled even held a special meeting for them; those old guys, they're practically half-buried in the ground and still can't stay still.
He simply said that her core should be returned as soon as possible, since it was unknown how long it would take for it to grow back. They then started arguing fiercely, each with their own ideas.
What they need to do now is get the little king bug back to the Zerg as soon as possible; he doesn't know what else there is to argue about.
The Zerg already know that they stole the Little King Bug. The longer this drags on, the more likely a major war will break out sooner or later, given the Zerg's volatile and warlike nature.
He was a pure soldier, without as many concerns as others. He only knew that he would rather die in battle than exchange a child for personal gain. Back then, he was already prepared to lead his legion to charge into battle and die on the front lines.
But at that time, he and several important officials were recalled and notified to participate in a plan. Upon learning this, he felt that his beliefs had been shattered, and a magnificent monument had collapsed in his heart. What he had upheld, his glory, vanished after he could neither change nor stop the plan.
He couldn't stop this event back then, but now he has to find a way to get the little king insect back into the insectoid race.
Now that Tang Ting wants to meet with him, he must know about the cub. Evena is part of their family, and if Evena knows, they must know too.
However, those old fogies still hold differing opinions on this matter and have already begun to take some action. Although Aled is the Grand Administrator, he is not a dictator. The last conversation made him realize that he is more concerned with the interests of the North River system, so he will not take sides on the matter of the cub.
So now he can't rely on Aled.
Even for the sake of the Northern River system, they must return the Little King Worm immediately.
The front lines were calm during this period because the Zerg had wiped out all their enemies and did not attack them, but instead guarded the perimeter of their front lines and built defensive lines.
The Zerg do not allow any other galaxies to attack them, because they are ready to become their greatest enemy at any time.
This is the Zerg's style of doing things; if they want to attack someone, they can't let anyone else attack them; they prefer one-on-one duels.
Several legions stood guard at the front line with suspicion and uncertainty. In the past, the Zerg had never been considered their enemy because their star systems were separated and there was no direct conflict of interest. They did not understand why the Zerg would suddenly make such a big move.
But the large number of Zerg that had been guarding their doorstep for months without making a move, instead clearing out other enemies for them, made them even more puzzled and worried.
The men from several legions were incredibly frustrated. They wanted to fight, but this stalemate was extremely disheartening.
Hailier and Tangting arranged a time for a family gathering and then hung up the phone.
At eight o'clock in the evening, Anno went to bed on time. Huo Yin was reluctant to leave, so Tang Ting told Hailier that Huo Yin should stay and sleep with Anno.
They originally wanted to prepare a separate room for Huo Yin, but he was very stubborn and would rather sleep under Anuo's bed than anywhere else, so they had no choice but to let the two of them sleep together.
Anuo lay on her side on the bed, looking at Huo Yin's beautiful golden eyes. She couldn't help but reach out and touch his eyelids. She always felt that his eyes resembled someone else's.
The only golden eyes she had ever seen were those of Caesar.
But besides Caesar, she felt she had seen him somewhere before.
Huo Yin grabbed her hand and rubbed it against his cheek, his eyes fixed intently on her, as if she were the only person in his world.
Every time she saw Huo Yin, she would unconsciously smile, her heart filled with warmth.
After watching Anuo fall asleep, Huo Yin closed his eyes and also fell asleep.
Zerg, West Vitello Galaxy.
In the palace, Caesar opened his eyes. As soon as he woke up, he received a message from Augustus through the consciousness network, asking him to come to the palace for a meeting.
The king rarely holds meetings, so it must be something important. He opened a portal directly to the palace gate.
As soon as he stepped out of the portal, he saw a large number of people standing at the palace gate, all of them high-level insectoids.
He glanced around and saw that all of Prince Aloo's high-ranking relatives, except for Cyrus, were present.
When they saw him come out, they all looked at him with unfriendly expressions.
Caesar smiled, completely unfazed by their confrontational looks. The more dissatisfied they were, the happier he was. He was the only one who had formally interacted with His Highness, so of course they were unhappy.
"Sigh, the young prince only went online for a short while today and played games with her for half an hour. That was far too short."
Mingxiao sat on the steps, sighing and holding a signal device. In order to reliably connect to the SkyNet of the Beihe Star System, he never let go of the signal device.
As soon as he said that, the other members of the household immediately shifted their gazes away from Caesar.
Mingxiao, oblivious to everything, continued, "I really want to stay by His Highness's side every day."
After saying that, Mingxiao looked up at Caesar and asked, "Vanguard, did the young prince hit you?"
Caesar: "No."
Mingxiao laughed, "That's a real pity. It seems the young prince doesn't like you very much either."
Caesar also showed a regretful look, "But I'm looking forward to it."
He had barely finished speaking when he saw Secris walking towards them.
He waved to Secris: "Secris, you're out for some fresh air too? I thought you weren't coming."
Secris glanced at everyone, showing no interest in chatting with them.
Caesar asked him, "By the way, what is the King calling us here for?"
Secris was once the strongest warrior by the king's side. Although he was a member of the prince's retinue, they had to obey the king's orders before the prince ascended the throne.
"You don't know?" Secris asked rhetorically.
Caesar and his retinue exchanged glances, each seeing the confusion in the other's eyes.
"See for yourselves."
Secris gestured with his chin toward another set of steps in the direction of the palace.
Caesar and his companions looked over and spotted some familiar figures among a group of advanced insectoids.
"That is?!"
The other family members exclaimed in surprise, "Those are Her Majesty the Queen's family members?!"
Caesar immediately became serious, and was also greatly surprised. They were not mistaken; it was the aura of Queen Seville's high-ranking retinue. He had not seen them on the main planet for more than two hundred years.
Mingxiao still looked puzzled. He was born late and had never seen the Queen's retinue, let alone Queen Seville, who was sleeping in the abyss.
He asked Caesar, "Vanguard, why have they returned? Shouldn't they be with the Queen?"
Caesar said, "Their return means Queen Sevier will soon be back as well."
