Chapter 382: What a Fierce Dragon

Chapter 382: What a Fierce Dragon

In the game Doomsday Calamity, achieving an S-rank mission requires at least the deployment of an entire base, not just a small team.

S-rank missions are not common, and S-rank world public missions are even rarer. It's considered fast if one S-rank world public mission comes out in a month.

Players were very excited when they saw this quest. Although the quest was a bit strange, the reward was a whole castle of treasures.

Players started posting on forums and other public social platforms to form teams. Although public tasks require a large number of players to complete, the rewards are different, and everyone wants to get the lion's share.

Mingxiao and the others were also furious. They directly asked classmates in the academy group to form a team. Mingxiao and Poponia never spoke in the group. Their grades were always the best in the class. Their classmates and teachers were very surprised when they saw that they wanted to form a team.

The two men were very serious, indicating that the team was very important to them.

After the initial surprise, the students started calling on their friends and family in the game to team up, log in, buy equipment, and prepare for a big battle.

Mingxiao and Poponia understood the game and knew that the public quests were beyond their capabilities, required a lot of equipment, and involved fighting more than one boss.

Tanville buys equipment directly from various bases. They don't have enough points, but they can trade offline, a practice commonly known as "pay-to-win".

There is no pay-to-win system in the game; all equipment and items can only be purchased with points. However, players can trade with each other. Players cannot spend real money in the game, but they can trade with other players offline.

Previously, Tanville and his team wanted Anno to have a more immersive and rewarding gaming experience. They believed that spending money on the game would diminish the fun. Now, they open player trading websites, don't even look at the prices, and directly place orders for equipment.

They don't care about game rules or game balance. When they're with the little princess, they obediently play along with her. Now that she's been kidnapped, they can turn the game upside down.

They must rescue their princess themselves, not have someone else do it.

While they were busy on their side, Anno was in the valley, patrolling the territory with Da Long.

As soon as she and Da Long appeared, the monster bosses in the valley, who had been lounging around, all sat up and looked at them with renewed vigor.

Looking at the mountains and valleys filled with monsters, Anno thought to himself that most of the bosses in the game were probably here.

I wonder which expert player owns this giant dragon, capable of commanding so many monster bosses.

She looked at these monsters; their expressions and movements were so lifelike that they didn't seem like human actors, but rather like real monsters. She wondered what the monster faction was like, and she was very curious.

However, she then thought of the fact that most interstellar races nowadays have beast-like genes and can transform into beast-like forms. This is the case with the Tianyun and Beihe star systems, and even their insectoid race often reveals their original form.

She really likes her original form, but she doesn't like to show it in public, because if someone sees her, her identity will be exposed.

Anno was thinking that once her current character died, she would create a monster character to play with.

She looked at the black dragon that had kidnapped her earlier, excitedly ran up to them, bowed her head respectfully, and then looked hopefully at the man beside her.

The man peeled a scale from his hand and handed it to it.

The black dragon, rewarded by the man, excitedly swallowed the scale whole. Then, Anno saw its body begin to swell and change dramatically. Its claws became sharper, and a pair of sharp dragon horns grew on its head, making it even more majestic and ferocious.

Seeing that the black dragon had gained power, the other monsters became restless.

Anno watched as the man spoke something to them, and the monsters became excited and started running out of the valley.

She couldn't understand what the man was saying, but there was a simultaneous interpreter. Just as she was about to open it, the man placed his hand on her head.

"Your Highness, this will be the empire created for you."

The man's voice was deep and resonant, as if it came from his chest.

This shouldn't be his voice, Anno thought to himself.

Normal people can't make that kind of sound; voice-changing software can be used in games.

The more he concealed himself, the more curious Anno became about his identity.

The man transformed back into his dragon form in front of her, gesturing for her to ride on his back. Anno hesitated for a moment, then climbed onto his back.

The dragon flapped its wings and carried her into the sky.

Anno didn't know where he wanted to take her, but she saw that there were many monsters and bosses traveling with her, some flying in the sky and some running on the ground, all flying in the same direction.

Before long, Anno saw through the darkness that many players on the plains below were heading towards the valley.

These players are all here for the S-rank world public quest, "Dragon Slayer".

The dragon let out a deep roar, and all the monster bosses charged into the player group.

The players were caught off guard by the sheer number of powerful monsters they encountered in this place, and they were all thrown into a panic.

However, they were numerous and well-equipped. They had come because the base was close to the mission objective, thinking that being close to the source would give them an advantage. They quickly organized their forces and came over.

Who would have thought that so many monsters would attack them at the same time? There weren't this many boss-level monsters in previous public quests.

Anno watched as the battle raged below, gunfire erupting everywhere, the flashes of explosions illuminating the night.

This group of players numbered several hundred and had decent equipment, so they were able to withstand the monsters' sudden attacks.

After circling around her for a while, the dragon swooped down and began breathing fire down below.

Two minutes later, the battle ended.

The players were all burned to ashes by the dragon.

"Your Highness! We're here to save you!"

Mingxiao's voice came through the earphones.

Anno: "...I think you don't need to come." This dragon is so powerful! So fierce!
