Chapter 209: Transformation
He glanced at her; she wasn't wearing Beixing's uniform and looked completely unfamiliar. He usually remembered students around his age after just one meeting.
He said, "You're not a student of Beixing, are you?"
Anno paused for a moment, then nodded.
Karina took her hand, which was resting to her side, and turned to Tang Ting, saying, "We are from Mingqi."
Tang Ting looked enlightened. There were many superpower academies in Amber Continent, and Mingqi was one of them.
He laughed and said, "There's a Mingqi competition today too. Aren't you supporting your own academy?"
Karina: "I don't support it, it's too weak."
Upon hearing this, Tang Ting displayed an awkward yet polite expression; Karina's cold aura successfully stunned him as well.
Anuo glanced at her. As expected of the second sister, she killed the conversation with just one sentence.
"The match has begun."
Karina's voice drew their attention to the arena.
First comes the obstacle course, with all sorts of obstacles blocking the way. The aircraft must successfully navigate around these obstacles to reach the finish line. The last person from each team to reach the finish line in the shortest time wins.
Although the indoor arena is large, it still doesn't offer as much room for maneuver as the outdoor arena. As soon as the competition started, many aircraft crashed into obstacles. Some aircraft were relatively sturdy and were able to continue flying while still emitting smoke, while others were completely destroyed.
In the first race, only a few teams managed to reach the finish line.
Anno carefully observed these aircraft and analyzed, "They are not stable enough. They have neglected the weight of the aircraft in pursuit of speed. The overly streamlined design is more suitable for space fighters."
Karina agreed: "So by our time, aircraft were more focused on stability. After testing the stability, we would increase the speed. However, some bolder ones still pursued speed and made the aircraft lighter."
Anno said, "If I make the changes, I can guarantee both stability and speed."
During the time she lived with Locke and the others, she had already taught herself a lot of professional theoretical knowledge about aircraft and fighter jets, all of which were shared with her by Conson. The knowledge included his notes and insights, which were very detailed.
However, she had never really had any experience with actual machine modification and manufacturing. When she was at the front-line base, she only managed to touch it a couple of times in her spare time.
Seeing the way Karina's eyes were shining as she stared at the aircraft, she said to her, "There's an aircraft modification base nearby. Many racing planes are modified and have parts fitted there. After we finish watching the competition, I'll take you there to practice."
Anno became interested: "Can I build the computer myself?"
Karina: "Of course, we can buy our own and drive it there, then we can modify it however we want."
Anno looked at the Flame team that had already taken off on the track and said, "Let's modify one and give it to Mom."
She noticed that Logan's mother's aircraft had some kinetic energy problems and lacked stability. It almost crashed into obstacles every time it went around a bend, making everyone on the edge of their seats.
As they watched the competition, the two analyzed the performance of the aircraft. Although Karina had not participated in many aircraft competitions, her expertise in this area was considerable.
Tang Ting, who was standing nearby, couldn't help but glance at the two sisters a few more times after hearing their conversation.
Judging from what they said, they are very knowledgeable about aircraft and highly professional. Moreover, the girl next to them just said that she wanted to modify an aircraft to give to her mother.
At such a young age, he already knows how to be filial to his mother. What a good child!
In the Northern River Galaxy, most children of this age are still causing headaches for their parents; this is the most rebellious time of their lives.
That's right, Lokin is always going against his father.
During the two-hour indoor competition, Anno memorized all the aircraft models used in the competition, including their flight speeds and kinetic characteristics.
Loking's Flame team is currently only in third place. Karina calculated their points and realized that if they don't make it into the top three in tomorrow's outdoor competition, they'll miss out on the prize money.
After inspecting the entire team, Anno found that all of Login's team's aircraft had stability issues. Apart from Login, all of her teammates had crashed into obstacles on the curves.
Luo Jin is technically strong and can barely maintain his balance on the curves, while the other teams either desperately slow down on the curves or crash into obstacles and fly off.
After leaving the venue, Karina led her toward the aircraft repair base.
When they arrived at the base, many teams had already brought their aircraft over for repairs, including Logan's team.
"Let's add another stabilizer; there will be more curves and obstacles outdoors tomorrow."
Locke and his teammates were discussing things.
"But if we add another stabilizer, our speed will be slower. The Asuka team has specialized technicians who can keep the aircraft stable without adding stabilizers. If we add another one, we won't be able to keep up with their speed."
Their biggest rival was the Asuka team, which had both financial and technical resources, but they made too many mistakes today, and their points dropped to third.
They didn't have dedicated technicians, and like other teams, they could only huddle together at the repair base, figuring out how to improve the parts themselves.
Aircraft generally prioritize speed, and they can only compete with the Asuka team in terms of speed. However, this requires a low margin for error; once they make a mistake, they will be unable to catch up.
Anno stood nearby, listening to them worry about tomorrow's game.
Karina bought a second-hand aircraft directly from the repair base. She even bought the most dilapidated one so that Xiao Qi would have more room to maneuver and feel a greater sense of accomplishment after modifying it.
She piloted the wobbly aircraft in front of Anno, which immediately caught the attention of Logan and the others.
"Captain, isn't this the junk you sold off cheaply a while ago? How come someone still drives it out?"
Lokin's gaze swept over the aircraft. Although it had been wrecked beyond recognition, the flame logo on it was still visible.
This aircraft was badly damaged in a recent competition, and the repair costs were high, so she simply sold it anyway, since it was almost obsolete anyway.
Her gaze shifted from the aircraft to Anno and Karina beside her. Were they the ones who drove it?
Judging from their posture, they have already bought the aircraft.
He wasn't wearing team uniforms, but he had their Flame Team merchandise on him, and he looked to be about the same age as them.
Luo Jin and his teammates exchanged glances. One of his teammates said, "I guess the fans got ripped off by the repair shop. They sold them the junk that Captain used to drive."
Their gazes involuntarily fell on Anuo, with her black hair and black eyes, an incredibly beautiful face, and a very small stature, looking only fourteen or fifteen years old.
"Wow, we have such adorable fans!"
Her teammates were getting restless and wanted to go up and talk to her, but then they saw Karina next to her. She also had black hair and black eyes, but she was relatively tall for a woman. She exuded a cold aura and had an aura that kept strangers at bay.
My desire to go over and talk to this incredibly cute little fan was abruptly interrupted by this person.
Lokin wasn't intimidated by Karina's aura; she didn't want their team's fans to be scammed into buying such a piece of junk.
"The main controller of this aircraft was damaged in the crash, and the stabilizer and accelerator are basically unusable. Even if you buy it, you'll have to replace everything. That would be enough to buy a new aircraft."
Anno turned to look at the person who was talking to them.
Logan stood in front of them, patted the dilapidated ship, and some parts fell off with a clanging sound.
“I know the owner of this repair shop. I’ll go with you to return it. I can help you decide what price range of aircraft you’re looking to buy.”
Anno looked at her, a slight smile unconsciously appearing on her lips. "No need, we'll take this one."
Lokin looked puzzled, but she understood. "You're fans of our team? If you want to collect this type of aircraft, I have another one..."
Anno smiled and shook his head. "We're not meant to be driven, we're meant to be modified."
