Chapter 101: Eli

Chapter 101: Eli

Anno took a two-hour nap before waking up. She slept very soundly, enjoying the sea breeze and the sound of the waves.

As soon as she woke up, she turned her head and saw Huo Yin sleeping next to her. He was lying on his side, hugging her. Her hand was on his face, and his hand was on her waist.

Huo Yin was still asleep, her face slightly flushed, probably from the heat. They were covered with blankets, and although there were parasols and a breeze at the beach, the afternoon sun was quite strong, and it was still a bit hot under the blankets.

Huo Yin's main gene is a fire dragon, and Anuo felt like he was hugging a small furnace.

Fortunately, she wasn't too bothered by the heat. Having spent most of her life in cold regions, she actually preferred this kind of warmth.

She removed her hand from Huo Yin's face, and as soon as she moved, Huo Yin opened his eyes.

The moment he opened his eyes, Anuo seemed to see another person's gaze, unlike Huo Yin's usual cold and indifferent eyes, but it was fleeting and he returned to normal.

Perhaps it's just my imagination, Anno thought.

Huo Yin always acts differently in front of others than in front of himself.

"Nono."

Huo Yin called out to her, his voice languid from just waking up.

Anno watched as his long eyelashes trembled slightly, casting a shadow beneath his eyelids. His golden eyes held a layer of moisture, like pure and translucent amber.

His usually indifferent gaze softened somewhat because of these golden eyes.

Even she, who wasn't particularly interested in looks, couldn't help but sigh inwardly, "This child will be extraordinary when he grows up."

But after looking at him for a while, I always felt that he resembled someone else, but I couldn't quite place who it was.

As soon as Anno sat up, Karina came over, picked her up from the chair, and sat her on a small stool next to her. She then took out a baby wipe and wiped her face.

Karina took out a baby bottle and formula from her backpack and handed them to Wen Ye, who was walking over. "Go make it, I'll watch Xiao Qi here."

When Ji Yu saw Karina naturally hand the baby bottle to Wen Ye, his eyes flashed slightly.

Wen Ye glanced at him sideways, then took the baby bottle to the rest area to prepare formula for Anuo.

Five minutes later, Wenye returned with the baby bottle and handed the prepared milk to Anuo.

This is Anno's third meal today.

She eats five meals a day: one in the morning and one at noon, one after her afternoon nap, one for dinner, and one before bed.

After being cared for so meticulously by Tang Ting and the others for over a month, she visibly became rounder, with more flesh on her face, making her look even more radiant and adorable.

Karina saw Huo Yin sitting there and asked Ji Yu, "Didn't you bring him any food?"

Ji Yu said, "He only eats three meals a day; he won't eat any more than that."

Karina rummaged through her bag, took out a individually packaged milk cake, and handed it to Huo Yin. Huo Yin took it, tore open the packaging, and handed it to Anno.

Anno tried to push it back to him, but he simply shoved it into her hand.

Ji Yu shrugged. "I'm right, aren't I? When I took him out before, I brought him some food, but he only ate normally at mealtimes and didn't eat anything else."

Hearing him say this, Karina and Wen Ye both found it quite novel. Huo Yin was only eight years old. At this age, cubs have not yet fully emerged from the transformation period. Even mutants still show some beast-like characteristics. Therefore, whether they are mutants or beasts, their demand for food is very high. Normal three meals a day are simply not enough to satisfy their hunger.

They have not yet seen any cubs that can control their cravings for food.

After Anno finished her milk, Karina took her for a walk on the beach, and then continued to lead her to other parts of Isabel.

"We might not have time to explore the south, let's head into the city instead."

Karina said to Wen Ye, "I was just about to go buy something for Xiao Qi."

Wen Ye: "Okay, then let's take Xiao Qi to the south together next time."

The south is also by the sea and is larger than the east. The entire south of Isabel is on the coastline, while the east is half of hills that extend from the north.

Wen Ye piloted the aircraft towards the city center. As he approached the central square, preparing to land, Anuo suddenly pointed ahead and asked, "What's that?"

The group looked in the direction she pointed and saw the towering monument in the Hallelujah Square.

“That’s a monument in Heroes’ Square.” Karina patted her head and said, “The names of the ancestors who made great contributions to the Northern River System since the early days of the Northern River Federation are engraved on it.”

Wen Ye: "Let's go take a look."

After saying that, he flew the aircraft towards the Heroes' Square and parked it on one side of the square.

Heroes' Square, also known as Central Square, is located in the very center of Isabel. It covers a huge area and is near important venues such as the Federal Building.

Because the square is located in the city center, it is usually crowded with people strolling around, and you can often spot a few torches.

Anno sensed the energy aura of a similar fire seed. Following the energy she sensed, she saw an adult male fire seed standing not far away.

The flame sensed her and looked towards her.

Upon seeing her, the spark's eyes lit up, and then it moved toward her.

He was using a means of transportation and quickly arrived in front of her.

Seeing that it was a spark, Karina and the others became more polite, unlike their wary attitude towards others.

"Hello, Alooswr."

The spark crouched down in front of Anno and greeted her gently. The ribbon of light behind his ear peeked out from his long hair and lightly touched the ribbon of light hanging on her shoulder.

The moment she touched it, Anno felt as if she had been electrocuted; a tiny current traveled along her light band to her brain, carrying a strange sensation.

"Do you know me?" she asked.

The male Fire Seed in front of him was extremely handsome, radiating a soft, faint light, making it somewhat androgynous.

Upon seeing him, Anno thought to himself that Fire Seed was indeed different from the others. Although they were all humanoid, Fire Seed and beast-type mutants were clearly different in appearance.

Eli laughed and said, "I think anyone from Northern Planet who has been on Skynet knows the little one."

Perhaps they cannot recognize all the sparks. After all, there are tens of thousands of sparks in the entire North River system. Although it is a very small number for the hundreds of billions of North River people, it is not an easy task to remember tens of thousands of sparks.

But Anno is a special case. He is the first Flame in history to possess all the main abilities of all the Flames, and every Flame knows Anno.

Anno has always been curious about his Fireseed identity, because the characteristics of the Fireseed race are really too special.

Deep down, she longed for a sense of belonging, a sense of belonging to her race.

Eli noticed Anno's curious gaze as he introduced himself, "My name is Eli, and I am an adult Flame. I am 176 years old this year. I haven't seen such a young Flame as you for several years."

In recent years, the birth and survival rates of sparks have been getting lower and lower. Sparks born in the last two years have basically died within a few days of being born in the petri dish, failing to grow to adulthood.
