Chapter 338: A Step
Anno moved the Dark Light Queen's relics and portrait in front of Sevier, and the atmosphere fell silent for a moment.
Sevier's retinue dared not speak, and even subconsciously took a step back.
They all grew up alongside Queen Sevier, some even hatching earlier than her. The Dark Light Queen witnessed every little detail of the relationship between Sevier and the Dark Light Queen.
After the Dark Light Queen left, Queen Sevier never mentioned her again; no one dared to remove this thorn from the Queen's side.
The crowd bowed their heads in silence, ready to kneel at any moment in anticipation of the Queen's wrath.
Only Nancy stood motionless behind the Queen, looking at her with her eyes slightly lowered.
Anno tidied up the portrait of Sevier in the middle of the portraits of the Dark Light Queen. She looked at Sevier and asked, "Mom, did I draw it well?"
Sevier was slightly lost in thought when Anno spoke, bringing her back to her senses. She said, "...It's very well drawn."
Anno continued, "Mom, I found the Dark Light Queen's relics in the Treasure Hall..."
Before she could finish speaking, Sevier pulled her over and hugged her tightly.
Anno smiled and looked up at Nancy.
Nancy winked at her.
"The portrait and the box are so heavy, and you didn't even ask your family to carry them for you. It seems they're useless."
As soon as Sevier spoke, her family members all knelt down.
“It’s not heavy.” Anno stretched out his hand, the mecha on his hand flashing with a pale blue energy light. “With the mecha my mother gave me, I can be like everyone else.”
Sevier kissed her forehead, stood looking at the portrait of the Dark Light Queen for a while, and then laughed out loud, stroking the portrait that Anno had drawn for her, saying, "My darling, you really did something I never dared to do."
She used to wish she could cover up the portrait of the Dark Light Queen with something so she could never see her cold face again.
But what I really want to do is to paint myself in her portrait.
She kept thinking that her mother disliked her so much that she wouldn't even let her be in the painting.
Even if other queen portraits don't include male queens or their retinues, they will at least include baby queens.
That's why she didn't want to see her mother at the temple.
If it weren't for Anunu's need to see her mother, she would still harbor resentment.
Seeing that Anunu had pasted her mother's portrait on top of her mother's portrait, she vowed to tell her mother next time she saw her.
Anunu has avenged her.
Sevier opened the large box and looked at her childhood belongings inside. She took out a few pieces of clothing and held them up against Anunu. "I grow up quickly, so I can only wear these clothes a few times. Anunu can continue to wear them."
Anuo never cared about her clothes; her mother's clothes were no worse than hers now, and each one was exquisite and gorgeous.
However, the thought that these clothes were worn by her mother when she was around ten years old made her feel a little depressed.
"You'll be going to Tianyun to study the day after tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll take you to the temple to see your mother."
Sevier took out a sparkly dress and held it up against Anno. "Wear this to see your mother."
She then handed another doll to Anuo, saying, "Take whatever you like, my darling. These are all yours now."
Anno said, "But these were all left to Mother by the Dark Light Queen."
Sevier patted her head. "It's just sitting there anyway, so why not take it out and make it useful?"
When Anuo heard her say that, it meant that the knot in her heart was slowly untied.
Just as Augustine told her, her mother was just a little awkward and needed someone to give her a way out and a reason to let go.
No one can say that Anno is better.
The next day, Sevier dressed Anno up nicely, preparing to take her to the temple to see the Dark Light Queen.
Anno looked at herself in the mirror. Her long, pink-gold hair was braided into two plaits at her temples and gathered at the back of her head, secured with exquisite gemstone hair ornaments.
She didn't have her ears pierced; Sevier wore a crescent-shaped tassel earring on her earlobe, which felt cool and light.
The dress was one my mother wore when she was a child. It was a silver-white, floor-length halter dress with a layer of light gold gauze over it. When she walked, tiny specks of light shimmered on the dress, like starlight adorning it.
In the past, Seville only wore these beautiful dresses during her rest time; during regular training, she wore armor or clothing suitable for combat.
These brief moments of rest, overshadowed by memories of intense training and arduous battles, were all stored away in the Dark Light Queen's box.
She just had to wait until one day she opened the box and found that these items had activated her childhood memories, reminding her that she too had happy and peaceful memories.
Darklight knew that one day Sevier would understand his good intentions.
Sevier truly understood that if it weren't for her mother's strict demands and relentless daily training, she might not have been able to resolve the situation that had happened to Anunu so easily.
Darklight's long-cherished wish, to become a powerful insectoid, was also to protect queen insectoids like her mother, Wind Spirit.
Ohmu that are unsuitable for battle should go to their own time.
If they happen to be born in a chaotic era, then let these more powerful Ohmu create an era suitable for them.
"Mom, should I wear the armor instead?"
Anno hesitated, looking at the beautiful dress she was wearing.
It wasn't that she disliked the clothes her mother had prepared; she just wondered if a powerful and majestic queen like the Dark Light Queen would dislike seeing such a weak and frail queen beetle as her offspring.
Sevier sensed Anno's thoughts, put a beautiful mineral necklace on her, and said softly, "You are my daughter, not hers. My daughter is the best in my heart. Whether she likes it or not, she has already reunited with her ancestors."
Sevier thought to herself that Darklight should be secretly delighted that she was able to take Anunu to see Darklight.
Seeing that her mother had said so, Anuo didn't know what to say. After getting dressed, she followed her to the temple.
This was Anno's second visit to the temple. Just like last time, after arriving at the temple entrance, he stepped onto the floating platform and dived down to the ground.
After traveling through what felt like space, Anno and Sevier arrived at the temple.
Even though she had visited once before, the magnificent and exquisite temple still deeply impressed her.
She thought that when she reunited with her ancestors, her spirit would be preserved in such a place, and she would feel peace, not loneliness.
Sevier stood at the temple entrance for a while, then led Anunu step by step into the temple.
The two of them were alone in the spacious temple, their figures reflected on the smooth floor, while the ancestral statues on either side of the temple watched them calmly.
A soft, gentle voice echoed in the empty temple, as if someone were singing. The ethereal and melodious voice could soothe the restlessness in one's heart.
Sevier led Anno to a stop in the middle of the palace. A hazy light rose in front of them. Suddenly, the light in the palace dimmed, and the light in front of them exploded like fireworks, with several fist-sized orbs of light surrounding the two of them.
