Chapter 516: Shadow Planet
Anno and Anaiya went to the temple, and this time, the temple elder named Abiya was still standing at the door to greet them.
She stood there watching them, a faint smile on her face. The pale golden light of the temple shone on her, making her look like a god who loved all people.
Her eyes were calm and loving, and Anno saw a kind of divinity in her.
When Anno saw Abiya, she paused for a moment. She remembered that Sister Nai had told her about Abiya's age before; Abiya seemed to be almost 150 years old...
She turned to look at Anaiya. Before their minds could even communicate, Abiya's voice rang out in their heads, "Your Highness, I am one hundred and forty-six years old this year."
Anno paused slightly, her tone apologetic, "I'm sorry."
Abiya's voice was gentle and understanding, "Your Highness, there's no need to apologize. I'm prepared to leave at any moment in the future."
The lifespan of the Holy Spirits will not exceed 150 years. They are composed of energy bodies, and although they do not age, the energy in their bodies will weaken.
In their purification work, the overdraft of energy is equivalent to the overdraft of their lives; living to 150 years old is considered a long life.
Anno and Anaya walked up to Abiya, who leaned down and gently kissed Anno on the forehead. "Your Highness, you are much more at peace than before. I am happy for you."
Anno nodded and said, "I slept for ten years and dreamed for ten years. All the pain from the past has faded away."
Abiya placed his hand on her head and patted her. "What comforts Your Highness is not the dream, but the people who love Your Highness and those Your Highness loves and cares about. It's just that the dream magnified Your Highness's warmest and happiest memories. Queen Darklight and Queen Seville have put in a lot of effort."
The two followed Abiya into the temple. Everything in the temple was just as Anno remembered. As soon as she entered, the translucent tendrils of the sacred tree extended out from within.
After pausing for a moment in front of her, the tree stalk patted her head, like an elder stroking a younger person.
Anaya also reached out and touched the tree tendrils, which nuzzled affectionately against her face.
A group of little Holy Spirits ran out from the depths of the temple. Although they were beautiful and had humanoid forms like the Sky Cloud People, they looked like two different species.
The little Holy Spirits gathered around, all smiling and greeting Abiya and Anaya, their faces full of curiosity upon seeing her.
"Is this baby also a Holy Spirit? I can feel energy emanating from her."
"But her energy seems different from ours, it's so strange."
Anno froze as she was surrounded by the children. Anaya picked her up and separated her from the chattering little Holy Spirits. Abiya also had the other adult Holy Spirits take the little Holy Spirits away, and then led Anno and Anaya behind the gate where the Holy Tree was rooted.
Upon entering, the enormous size of the Sacred Tree almost completely filled Anno's field of vision.
She climbed up the thick roots of the sacred tree and walked to the trunk.
A soft, glowing tendril extended from the trunk. Anno took a deep breath, and his spinal whip extended from behind, connecting with the tendril.
Anaya, who was standing next to her, said, "Don't worry, Nuonuo. Abiya and I will protect your consciousness. If anything goes wrong, we will bring you back in time."
Anno came here to find traces of the Shadow Clan. She had strange dreams every day and wanted to actively investigate and find out their purpose.
Now that they've approached her, it won't be as simple as just letting her have a few dreams.
Anno nodded solemnly and closed his eyes.
In an instant, her consciousness seemed to fly out of her body and rise rapidly. She could overlook the entire Holy City, and a moment later, she could overlook the entire Tianxiu Star. Then, the planets in front of her rushed past.
Planets and galaxies all transformed into countless stardust, streaking across her face like shooting stars. Her consciousness soared to a deeper place, and she felt as if she were about to fly out of this universe.
The stars were far away from her, and their light was fading. She was gradually immersed in darkness, a darkness that made her feel uneasy.
She didn't know how much time had passed before light reappeared before her eyes. A dazzling yet unfamiliar galaxy appeared before her, and her consciousness traveled to this galaxy at the speed of light.
She saw planets streak past her. This place seemed similar to other star systems with civilizations, with planets and stars of different masses. Although it was the first star system she had ever seen, the universe was so vast that there were far more star systems she had never seen before than those she had.
Not long after, the planets around her slowed down, and she seemed to have arrived at her destination.
However, the planets before her were all very dark colors, either earthy or dark brown, some even almost black, quite different from the beautiful blue-green planets she had seen. She felt an indescribable oppressive atmosphere and a deathly aura.
Finally, her body floated in front of a black planet.
The planet is surrounded by a ring of stars, which twinkle in space, like a halo around the dark planet.
When Anno flew into the star ring, he discovered that it was composed of energy stones of varying sizes, similar to the Zerg energy stones.
She looked at the planet in front of her again. Was this the planet inhabited by the Shadow Insects?
Although this planet is black, it is somewhat similar to the Zerg planet. However, the Zerg planet has various bioluminescent creatures, and although most of the raw energy stones are also black, they also glow. The planet's surface is also covered with an energy shield, so from outer space, the Zerg planet is a planet with brilliant colors, which is very beautiful.
The planet in front of us looks more like a Zerg planet that has lost its energy shield and glowing creatures.
She floated in space for a while, then her body suddenly began to fly uncontrollably toward the planet.
Her gaze kept drawing closer to the planet, as she fell into it.
She is currently in a semi-primitive form. In this dark environment, she is like a shooting star streaking across the dark night sky, falling into this unfamiliar world.
However, upon approaching the ground, Anno discovered that the planet was not entirely devoid of light.
There were unidentified lights mixed in, and mountains, rivers, oceans and forests were outlined in the darkness. She could also see the outlines of some buildings.
Even before they landed, she felt that these buildings were incredibly tall and enormous.
The building's outline still vaguely reveals some Zerg style, but it is an ancient building that is very old in the consciousness network.
Over the centuries, these architectural styles have changed somewhat, but the rugged grandeur of the Zerg architecture, along with some exquisite details, has remained unchanged.
The buildings are carved with patterns and designs that emit a faint glow, while lampposts and floating, strange luminous objects also provide a hazy light.
Her body landed on a towering trapezoidal building, from which one could see the entire city below.
The city was quiet, with a wide river and layered mountains visible in the distance, and a vast forest nearby.
The Shadow Zerg's way of life seems quite different from that of the Light Zerg.
As she was looking around, she suddenly heard a rustling sound. The noise grew louder and louder, as if someone was approaching her, and the light in front of her grew brighter and brighter.
She looked at where she was standing. In the middle was something that looked like a stone tablet, with some kind of energy stone placed on both sides. The light was somewhat dim, and the ground beneath her feet was etched with intricate patterns.
After she stood on it, the patterns gradually lit up, and the stone tablet behind her also lit up.
At that moment, a loud shout came from below. The voice was very excited, but Anno couldn't understand what it said.
After the voice called out twice, beams of light appeared before her eyes one after another, forming a shimmering sea of stars.
Anno was stunned. She could see clearly that beneath this sea of stars were people holding up glowing objects that looked like torches.
More and more people are surging towards this side, all looking up at the tiny deity on the altar.
They prayed softly and all knelt down.
These people were the same as those Anno saw in her dream; they had black and red insect patterns on their bodies, and their clothes were brightly colored with many accessories.
Several tall figures stood at the front of the crowd, their eyes also filled with the same bewildered excitement as Anno. Then, one of them walked step by step toward Anno and stepped onto the altar.
Anno paused for a moment, then walked down and stopped on a wide platform below.
The Shadow Zerg's gaze remained fixed on her, his eyes filled with utmost devotion.
Finally, he stopped in front of Anno, knelt down on one knee, and extended a hand to Anno.
Anuo listened to what he was saying, but she couldn't understand a word. However, for some reason, she could sense his intentions.
She looked at the Shadow Zerg kneeling before her, its head tilted slightly upward, and realized that she had returned to her normal adult form.
The insectoid in front of her was probably the leader of the Shadow Insectoids. He held up his palm and looked at her with anticipation.
After thinking for a while, Anuo slowly raised her hand and placed it in his large palm.
The moment she placed her hand on him, she touched his warm skin, and the insect patterns on his body lit up, as if an electric current had rushed through him before the light disappeared.
The leader's hands trembled slightly with excitement, but he still carefully held her hand in his palm, not daring to hold it tightly, nor wanting to let go.
When the other Shadow Zerg saw the god and the leader make contact, they shouted excitedly, but were quickly stopped by the other leaders for fear of disturbing the god.
After making contact with the Shadow Leader, Anno discovered that his originally translucent hand had become solid, and the floating sensation had lessened.
But a voice kept reminding her, "Nono, you can't stay there, you have to come back!"
"Anunu, come back quickly!"
