Chapter 159: Meeting
Luo Su watched as Anuo and the others disappeared before her eyes, wondering what they were going to do. She thought Anuo had gone to the battlefield, but the battlefield did not sense Anuo's energy, and the positioning device could not find her.
Suddenly, she sensed a familiar energy coming from afar.
She was overjoyed; that was Nana's energy!
Beside her were the energies of Cangmiao and Xibia, as well as several other powerful, unfamiliar energies. However, their positions seemed somewhat distant, perhaps due to the presence of shielding devices that disrupted the location of the spatial gate.
Sensing their energy, she couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. With Nana and Cangmiao there, the outcome of this battle was not in much suspense.
Her energy couldn't break through the shield, but Nana's definitely could. She was now the strongest Holy Spirit in the Tianyun Galaxy, and the energy of the two Holy Spirits would enhance each other when they were together.
Although she was no longer worried about the battle, she was still somewhat concerned about Anno.
Ten minutes later, a huge roar came from a valley in front of Anno, growing louder as it approached, as if something was about to burst out of the valley, and even the ground trembled slightly.
She stared in the direction from which the sound came for a while, and a chaotic and violent energy rushed towards her like a wave, making her heartbeat erratic.
She watched in horror as countless enormous beasts surged out of the valley, many of which still retained human form and bore some resemblance to the calamities of Tianyun. Their energy was as turbulent as a volcanic eruption.
She knew that they were the fallen species exiled here from the Northern River Star System. Unlike Tianyun, who would try his best to save their calamity beasts and improve their genetic level, Tianhe chose to exile them directly and even destroy them, leaving only those with higher genetic levels.
The massive number of Fallen Ones surged out of the valley, shattering the encirclement formation formed by the Tianhe soldiers. The beast-controlling devices placed around the Beihe Base were now useless, serving no purpose whatsoever.
This battlefield belongs to the Fallen Ones; they are more irritable than usual, as if they want to unleash all the hatred and rage in their hearts.
On the battlefield, Luo Su sensed Anno's energy. She used her telescope to follow the energy and finally found Anno on the back of a giant black wolf.
She rode on the back of a wolf, wielding a long sword, and joined the battle.
All the corrupted creatures obeyed her command and rushed towards the enemy.
Luo Su was so shocked by the scene before him that he could hardly speak. Even Nana couldn't possibly control so many Fallen Ones at once; there were at least tens of thousands of them...
Once Anno joined the battlefield, the shielding device restricted her much less, allowing her to provide energy to her own soldiers at closer range and assist them.
With her around, the Zerg soldiers' morale soared, and they charged towards the enemy alongside the Fallen.
Anotti darted across the battlefield, her expression as cold as the long blade in her hand. Her blood boiled with the fighting, and her soul roared across the battlefield, urging her to tear apart the enemies before her.
Caesar and the others quietly protected her from the side. A Romira piloted a huge mech and attacked her. The twin swords on the mech's arm slashed horizontally at her. She nimbly dodged them. As the sword fell again, she leaped up and slashed down at the mech with her sharp blade. The mech tried to block with its arm, but her incredibly sharp longsword severed the arm.
Anno landed with a backflip, and Caesar was right behind her. Their consciousnesses communicated silently in the network of consciousness. Caesar tacitly grabbed her hand and helped her use the momentum to throw her back at the mecha, severing the mecha's head.
Anno landed on the ground, spun around, and sliced the robots that had come to grab her from behind in half.
She took a breath, and suddenly, she felt her body lighten. An indescribable feeling rose from her body, instantly invigorating her somewhat exhausted spirit. She felt every pore in her body open up, and a stronger power surged out of her body, wanting to break through her body and tear the enemy in front of her to pieces.
This feeling is the "King Bug Effect".
Anno felt a slight stirring in her heart; her mother had arrived.
She was on the battlefield, and she didn't turn around to look for her mother. Even without looking, she knew where her mother was through the consciousness network.
Just as she drew her sword and rejoined the battle, a surge of energy, as vast as the ocean, rushed toward her from the incredibly chaotic energy of the battlefield.
This energy carried a familiar scent, a scent etched in her memory, a scent she would often recall.
After the blade flashed down on the enemy in front of her, she stopped moving and stood there stunned.
This aura...this is...
This is impossible, how could this be?
Several robots leaped up around her, extending their mechanical arms to grab her, but Caesar and Cyrus flew in and cut them all down.
"Your Highness, are you alright?"
Seeing that Anuo had suddenly stopped moving, they all moved closer to her with concern.
Anno suddenly turned around and looked ahead along the familiar energy. Through the chaotic figures of the battle, she saw a slender figure standing there.
Her heart started pounding uncontrollably. Was she hallucinating from overexertion and mental exhaustion?
But she couldn't help but rush towards that figure. The snow-white blade flashed and killed the enemy in front of her. She ran forward without stopping, as if running into a dream.
Her eyes were fixed on that figure, as if he would disappear from her sight if she looked away.
The figure was also rushing towards her at high speed, the long sword in her hand flashing with crimson light.
Two enormous mechs landed in front of Anno, their large swords slashing horizontally at her.
The slender figure leaped high in front of her, the crimson blade severing the heads of the two mechs.
Anno looked up at her figure. Shells were falling not far from her, and the light from the explosions was like a ray of sunlight falling on her.
At that moment, Anno could no longer hear any sound, and all that remained before his eyes was this slender figure.
Cold objects landed on her face, more and more frequently, and then a thunderous roar shook the sky, followed by a torrential downpour.
Anuo stood there, staring blankly at the girl in front of him.
Her face was still the familiar one she remembered, only her black hair had turned silver and her eyes had turned gold.
She had grown much taller, and the childishness on her face had faded, making her look like a flower in full bloom, dazzlingly beautiful.
But Anno knew that she was Anaya, her sister Nai, who had unintentionally marked her with the insectoid symbol in the past, and she would never forget her aura.
"Nono!"
Anaya released the long sword Twilight from her hand, and Twilight instinctively protected her. She ran towards the girl in front of her, opened her arms and hugged her tightly.
In the pouring rain, Anaya hugged Anuo tightly, her voice choked with emotion: "Nono, it's me..."
Anuo felt the warmth emanating from her body and finally came to his senses. He hugged her tightly and buried his face in her chest.
She said in a hoarse voice, "I must be dreaming..."
Anaya laughed through her tears, placing her hand on the back of Nono's head and stroking it repeatedly. "It's not a dream, Nono, you can touch me if you don't believe me."
Anno hugged her tighter, "You've always been the one touching me."
Anaya laughed, but then she started to cry. She couldn't control her tears. She never expected to meet Anno in this world. They had gone through thick and thin together in that dilapidated and decadent world, supporting each other through hardship.
Only the two of them understood each other's pain and hardship, and knew how difficult their past had been.
Hearing Anaiya's sobs, Anno couldn't help but feel tears welling up in her eyes as well. "I miss you so much."
She really, really misses her. Most of her memories now are about the past, but the few good memories she has of the people from that past who were kind to her are gone.
Seeing Anaya felt like a redemption for her past life.
"Nono, I miss you so much too, so very much."
