Chapter 78: Worries

Chapter 78: Worries

The medical staff breathed a heavy sigh of relief when they saw that the baby cub's medication tubes were all connected.

Tang Ting stood up and said to the medical staff, "Prepare a new ward for infants, move all the equipment there, and retest the baby's blood for allergens. She is also allergic to some disinfectants. When disinfecting the new ward, we need to check her allergen test results."

"Okay, we'll get ready right away."

Their hospital has a cub ward, which is specifically for cubs to be hospitalized. It's decorated very warmly, just like home, to eliminate their fear of hospitals.

However, Anno's allergy was too severe, requiring some important medical equipment from the emergency room. Time was too tight, and they didn't have time to set up a cub ward for her.

Half an hour later, a private ward for Anno's cubs was set up.

Anno's itching subsided after half an hour, but she suddenly developed a fever, so Luo Jin carried her to the cub ward.

Anno felt very tired. The fever reducer Tang Ting gave her had a sedative effect, but she was very vigilant in this medical environment. Even in Luo Jin's arms, she didn't dare to fall asleep easily.

She knew her parents would protect her, but her body wouldn't allow her to fall asleep, keeping her constantly alert. Even with self-suggestion, she couldn't relax.

It wasn't until she entered the cub ward, where there were cute dolls everywhere and warm yellow lighting, creating a cozy atmosphere that didn't feel like a hospital, that her tense body slowly relaxed, and she fell into a deep sleep in Luo Jin's arms.

Luo Jin held her for half an hour before gently putting her on the bed.

Tang Ting lifted the blanket covering the medical equipment and adjusted the drug composition and infusion rate, checking the changes in her blood's response to the medication every half hour.

The medical equipment in the ward was all hidden and kept silent. Tang Ting and the medical staff all wore headphones so they could hear the announcements from the equipment.

How is the baby? Is he feeling better?

As soon as Tang Ting came out of the ward, his parents came up to him with worried expressions and asked him questions.

Conson and Doris followed along, observing the baby's emotional state, and knew that their baby was very different from the other Fireborn cubs.

Previously, Luo Jin and Tang Ting had told them about the baby's condition, but now that they saw it with their own eyes, they realized that her physical and mental state was even more serious than they had imagined.

They were afraid of disturbing the baby if they went in, so they waited outside the ward.

Tang Ting truthfully told them, "The allergy was quite severe and caused some complications, but it's stable now. If no more complications occur after today, there won't be any major problems."

Hearing him say that, the two were still worried, but they also believed in their son's abilities. They just felt sorry for Xiao Qi. Their other six children had always been very healthy since they were young. They would get sick occasionally, take some medicine, and be lively and energetic again. They had never seen Xiao Qi so fragile.

"Oh right, you and Lolo haven't had breakfast yet. I had your father pack two portions from home for you. Take them in and eat with Lolo."

Doris handed two insulated lunch boxes to Tang Ting, then opened another bag and took out a delicate little lunch box. "Winnie also made a fruit yogurt for the baby. We'll see if she likes it when she wakes up. Winnie said she saw the list of foods your baby can't eat, and this fruit yogurt is made with ingredients that are safe for babies, so you can rest assured."

Tang Ting took it. "Okay, the baby hasn't eaten much today. We'll feed her when she wakes up."

As Tang Ting entered the ward, Conson and Doris couldn't help but peek inside. They saw the baby lying on the bed, the rash on her body still not gone, her face a little red from the fever, but her lips were pale.

Seeing her sickly appearance, the two of them felt heartbroken.

The two sat back down on the bench by the door and reported the baby's condition to Winnie and Felt, while also informing Eve, who was on her way.

The two families, totaling dozens of people, had originally planned to come and see the baby today and hold a grand welcome ceremony for her. However, Luo Jin told them that the baby was rather shy and sensitive, so it was best not to meet too many family members on the first day. Just her own older siblings and both sets of parents would be enough. As for other uncles, aunts, and cousins, they could meet them gradually after she had settled into her new home.

As the heir of their family, Evena is of the same race as the baby, so she absolutely had to come today.

She lives in southern Isabelle. After taking care of some business at the Fire Seed Affairs Center, she heard that the baby was sick and immediately dropped everything to come over.

Evena received messages from Doris and her mother Winnie, instructing her subordinates to speed up the aircraft.

The baby cub has already had such a severe allergic reaction since returning home; it seems her health condition is worse than she imagined.

An hour later, Evena arrived at the hospital.

"Conson, Doris, how is the baby?"

Hearing the sound, Conson and Doris turned around and saw Ivana walking quickly toward them.

Doris stood up and said, "The baby's fever just broke, and he's still sleeping inside."

As she spoke, she gently pushed open the door. "Go in and take a look."

Ivana nodded and walked slowly into the ward.

"You've arrived."

Upon seeing Ivana, Lockin's face lit up with joy, and he stood up from his chair to look at her.

Ivana went over and hugged her. "Sister."

Luo Jin patted her back with a faint smile, "Did you just come from the south? No need to rush, we'll take good care of the baby."

Ivana released her and looked at Anno, who was sleeping soundly on the bed. "I originally wanted to finish today's business before coming over, but when I heard that the baby was sick, I was worried and rushed over."

Tang Ting handed Eve a chair and placed it behind her. "You're here just in time. You can check the baby's energy. I compared her energy wave with other Fire Seed cubs. She's usually fine, but when she's sick, her energy becomes very unstable. I think that's abnormal."

Ivana sat down by the hospital bed and gently touched her cheek.

The red rash that caused her allergies has subsided somewhat, but it's still quite noticeable.

Ivana turned her gaze to her band of light, which was dim due to her illness and draped softly over her shoulders, looking as sickly as she was.

She reached out and hooked her band of light into her hand, closed her eyes, and probed the energy into it.
