Chapter Twenty-Three: Omnipotence
When Luo Jin returned, she saw Tang Ting and several other medical staff gathered around the Fire Seed cub. She thought something had happened to the cub, so she felt a pang of anxiety and quickly went to check on it.
"Tang Ting, what's wrong with the cub?"
Luo Jin saw Tang Ting holding a device connected to the light band of the cub. At this time, her light band was still dim and bluish-gray in color.
After Tang Ting activated the instrument, a stream of simulated fire energy entered the fire's body through a connecting tube similar to the fire's light band. Her light band lit up again, but it still drooped weakly.

After a while, the cub fell asleep again.

Anno was caught in a dream. It was snowing heavily. She was only five or six years old. Her clothes were tattered and she was walking barefoot in the snow. She grabbed the snow on the ground and stuffed it into her mouth, but she could not get enough to eat.

Suddenly, she saw a bright fire ahead and smelled the aroma of food. Overjoyed, she quickly walked towards the fire.
As she approached the fire, she saw a little girl about her age sitting around it. A pot was placed on top of the fire, and meat soup was simmering inside. Every now and then, the girl would scoop out a spoonful to taste and see if it was edible.
Anuo stared at the pot, swallowing hard. She was so hungry, so very hungry...
All she could think about was the broth. She ran over, snatched the spoon from the girl, scooped it up, and drank it in large gulps. Seeing large chunks of stewed meat inside, she scooped a piece of meat directly from the boiling pot. Her hands were covered in chilblains, but she didn't care about the burning pain. She hugged the meat and started gnawing on it.
"That's my flesh!"
The girl tried to snatch it back, but Anuo pushed her away.
At this moment, the girl's mother returned. The girl cried and called out "Mom." The woman came over, grabbed Anuo's hair, and pulled her backward to snatch the meat from her hand. But Anuo refused to let go, and even though her scalp was being pulled painfully, she kept stuffing the meat into her mouth.
Finally, the woman threw her to the ground, breaking her ribs. She curled up in pain, and only then was the flesh in her hand snatched back.
"You little beast, how dare you steal our things!"
The woman cursed and threw her outside, then took her daughter's hand and returned to the fire.
Anno struggled to lift her head from the snow and watched as the woman held the little girl in her arms, gently stroking her head and wrapping her clothes tighter around her. The girl's cries of "Mommy!" kept echoing in her mind.
So this is what a mother is like?
Staying with my mother means I won't go hungry or cold, and I'll be well protected.

Tang Ting listened to Anuo talking non-stop, but he couldn't quite understand what she was saying.
