Chapter 453: Like a Dream
The palace lights cast flickering shadows, illuminating two intertwined figures on the bed.
Anno felt as if her body was floating, and all she could see was a hazy light.
The insect patterns on her body were now fully visible, and a band of light extended from behind her ears, so red it was almost dripping blood.
She couldn't describe the feeling; a surge of intense emotion filled her chest, a desire to release it, a yearning to control something, a urge to bite something.
Her small, sharp teeth emerged from her mouth, and she bit down on the neck of the person beneath her. The taste of blood instantly filled her mouth. A large hand kept stroking her back, calming her agitated emotions.
The person being bitten did not make a sound, which annoyed Anno, so he intensified his biting until he bit the neck until it was a bloody mess, the blood seeping into the hair and staining the sheets red.
The most important lifeline of the Zerg, the spinal whip that can transmit energy, sense emotions, and communicate, extends from her smooth back. She explores it little by little, impatiently coiling and releasing it, as if she were traversing through a thick fog, filled with a misty dampness, where nothing can be seen clearly.
The person beneath her was under her control; she patiently guided and comforted him.
Anuo grabbed his hand and pressed it down hard. Not wanting to see him so calm, she exerted some force with her body as if she was not willing to admit defeat.
Only when she heard the beautiful sound that escaped his throat did a wicked smile creep onto her lips.
She was like a curious child, treating the person beneath her as a new toy, finding the switch that made him unable to resist.
She liked this sense of control. Even though the person beneath her was taller than her, he could only obey her commands. She watched as tears welled up in his eyes as he looked at her with a mixture of helplessness and doting affection.
Anuo sat up, her slender neck raised high, her expression a mixture of joy and pain, which made him lovingly support her.
The dim palace lights flickered, but their brilliance paled in comparison to the two figures who had revealed their insectoid forms.
It was a long night, and Anno only fell into a deep sleep when the sky began to lighten. The strong pheromone scent that had filled the entire palace slowly dissipated.
Mingxiao and Fei stood on the platform outside all night. Their pheromones carried a strong sense of aggression and pressure, preventing any Zerg from getting close.
It wasn't until noon the next day that Mingxiao brought food into the palace.
He immediately spotted the tiny bundle nestled in the blankets. The scent of pheromones had faded considerably, but Mingxiao could still smell it.
He sniffed the scent of the young prince's pheromones, then glanced at his wrist, which had almost no marks left, and a slight smile appeared on his lips.
Seeing that Anuo was asleep, he was about to put down the food and wait for her a while when he saw the person under the covers move a few times and open a pair of light blue eyes with a moist sheen.
Anuo stared at Mingxiao for a while, then subconsciously turned to look to the side. Last night's events seemed like a hazy, colorful dream. She was stunned for a long time before turning back to look at Mingxiao.
Mingxiao stood there, wondering why the young prince was looking at him like that.
Anuo propped herself up and sat up, leaning lazily against the headboard, and beckoned to Mingxiao.
Mingxiao walked to the bedside and sat down, happily calling out, "Your Highness?"
Anno grabbed his collar and pulled him close, sniffing his body. There was no pheromone scent. Even in the situation yesterday, Mingxiao remembered Sevier's words and did not release his pheromones in front of Anno.
Anuo looked at Mingxiao's honest appearance, glanced at him suspiciously a few times, and then pulled open his clothes to look left and right, but there was nothing there.
Was I really dreaming last night?
Anuo asked Feixing directly, "Last night was strange, I felt like something happened."
Feixing: "Anunu, last night... I was in hibernation. I will come out if there is any danger."
Anno didn't believe it: "Really?"
Fei Xing: "Anunu, why would I lie to you?"
With Mingxiao's help, Anuo got dressed, stepped barefoot on the carpet, stretched, and looked full of energy.
Fei Xing said, "It seems you slept well last night."
Anno said, "I slept well. I felt refreshed, like all the pores in my body were open. I haven't had such a good night's sleep in a long time."
Mingxiao noticed her rosy complexion, leaned closer to her, and asked with a smile, "Your Highness, did you have a good time last night?"
Anuo paused in her drinking, put down the glass, and narrowed her eyes at him: "Was it you last night?"
"Huh?" Mingxiao's eyes showed confusion. "Your Highness, what is 'me'?"
The next second, he realized what he wanted to say, but for a moment he didn't know how.
All I could do was shake my head frantically.
Anno grabbed his cheeks and squeezed them relentlessly, "Speak!"
She thought she was dreaming last night!
Mingxiao looked surprised and said, "Your Highness, didn't you know that Prince Sitar had been here? I thought he was here."
As he spoke, his gaze swept across the palace. In the vast palace, apart from the two of them, there were only a few maids working silently in the hall.
Last night, the powerful aggression of Anno and Sitar's pheromones made him dare not get any closer. Although he couldn't see them, he could imagine the intense scene between them.
Thinking of this, Mingxiao said with a bit of anticipation, "Your Highness, if Prince Sitar is not here, you can come to me if you want."
Anno sat down on the tatami mat in the courtyard, carefully recalling the scene from last night. The more she thought about it, the clearer the scene became, until Feixing coughed lightly and said leisurely, "Sevier, despite all the precautions, we still couldn't prevent it."
Anuo's consciousness was connected to Feixing's, and she belatedly realized that Feixing had seen all the images in her mind. She immediately said, "Don't look!"
Fei Xing looked innocent. "I didn't want to see it either, my princess. Our cores are connected. Just don't think about it."
Even so, he still commented on the scene in her mind: "Tsk, you really tormented Sital."
After saying that, he added, "No wonder you're so energetic. I think Sevier shouldn't try to suppress you anymore. You need to let it all out a bit so you can feel good."
"Anunu, how do you feel? The first time we bonded, I was a little too excited and my consciousness was overloaded. We'll take it slow next time."
Speaking of this, Fei Xing thought of Feng Ling, "Feng Ling is still gentler than you. Your personality is somewhat like Sevier's."
After a while, Anno came to his senses, touched his lips, looked at his hands, and hesitated, "It seems like I bit Sitar and it bled a lot, and its tail is swollen."
Fei Xing said, "Hmm...it is indeed quite intense."
He comforted Anno, saying, "It's alright, he has a strong ability to recover."
Anno thought of those misty eyes; she had never seen Sitar look like that before, and she felt a pang of pity for him, especially his voice...
Ugh, I can't think about it anymore! If I keep thinking about it, I won't be able to resist going to see him!
Fei Xing listened to Anuo's adorable ramblings and laughed, "If you want, Mingxiao and Fei are also an option."
Anno muttered to himself for a moment, then suddenly said, "Has Sitar been discovered?"
Fei Xing said, "You haven't asked why Sitar suddenly came and then suddenly left?"
Anno sat on the couch, swinging her two slender white legs. "Because we can't be wiped out in one fell swoop. Something's not right here. The Zerg's energy stones, and their similar methods of obtaining energy. This King is also strange. He's not as good as he seems. I sent Mingxiao out for a stroll these past few days, and I have some guesses in my mind, but I need to confirm them."
Fei Xing said, "Don't worry, Anunu. Sevier will be here soon. Let's go along with them for now. Xi is very powerful."
"clear."
Anno and Feixing had suspected this place for a long time. The silent Mo, the Xi who had controlled the City of Heaven for hundreds of years, the way these energy stones were used, and this huge golden palace made Anno feel that it had some similarities with the Zerg.
This is what made Mingxiao feel uneasy; they could even know everything through Mo's abilities, just like the Zerg's consciousness network.
This subtle similarity only made Anno and his companions feel inexplicably uneasy.
Xi told her that the outside teleportation channel could not be opened, but Anuo did not believe her so easily.
If you think about it carefully, they were probably already being watched from the moment they arrived on this planet.
The clothing store owner gave her directions, saying that the City of Heaven had the only way out, so they went to the tower and easily entered the City of Heaven through Mo.
Xi couldn't possibly be unaware of all this; if he weren't, Mo wouldn't be mute now.
Every day, so many Lyca aliens rush through the tower to try and enter the City of Heaven, and it's not just for the rich and comfortable life there.
That teleportation channel is probably just one of the gimmicks.
Anno leaned against the couch with her eyes closed, various images flashing through her mind.
During her brief connection with Sitar last night, she was able to see some of his memories.
She saw him and Ling Jiu hiding from the guards in the dark. Besides Ling Jiu, there was another familiar figure with long, silver hair that shimmered faintly in the dim light.
Caesar has come looking for us.
Seeing that the two of them could finally get along peacefully, Anuo couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
They are currently hiding somewhere in the City of Heaven, trying to open the teleportation portal outside. Caesar's ability is very important, but the restrictions on his ability need to be lifted first.
The inability to use superpowers in the Leica Galaxy is due to something suppressing them. Sitar and his group are searching for this thing. If they cannot resolve this issue, even if their core energy from a few Queen Worms is enough to deal with the City of Heaven, it would not be worthwhile and would be too dangerous.
Mingxiao wandered around the Golden Palace for several days without anyone stopping him, which means that the teleportation channel and the thing that suppressed their abilities were not there. Even if Xi showed her this, it was only what he wanted to show her. If he could trust her, Lingjiu wouldn't have hidden away with Xitar.
Anno lay on the couch for a while, thinking of Caius and Feijue. Their authority was second only to Xi. Perhaps he could get some information out of them.
