Chapter 140 New Members (1/2)

After the little turtle and the little squirrel chatted for a while, the turtle turned to look at Jiang An and nodded. Jiang An was overjoyed; it seemed the little squirrel was willing to go back with them.

"Let's go then!"

"Squeak!" The little squirrel nodded happily.

"Coo~coo~" The little turtle was also extremely happy.

So, Jiang An took the little turtle and the little squirrel on their way home.

Along the way, the little squirrel jumped around on Jiang An's shoulder and occasionally played with the little turtle, adding a lot of fun to the journey home.

Soon after, they finally returned to the underground safe house.

Jiang An took out more food from his storage ring and placed it on the dining table, warmly welcoming his new friend.

The little squirrel ate with great relish, clearly enjoying its new environment and the food.

"Is it delicious? There will be even more delicious food here in the future," Jiang An said softly as he watched the little squirrel busily stuffing food into its mouth.

Upon hearing this, the little squirrel's eyes lit up even more, as if it were filled with anticipation for the future.

“Little squirrel, from now on we’re family. How about I give you a name? What do you want to be called, Rat, or something else…” Jiang An trailed off.

She scratched her head and thought for a while, but still couldn't come up with a suitable name.

"Then let's call you Little Mouse. You're Little Mouse, and it's Little Turtle. That way, we're family!" Jiang An said decisively after thinking for a long time without finding a solution. She didn't consider the two little animals' opinions at all; they wouldn't understand anyway.

"Coo-coo-coo! Great, Mommy, her name will be Little Mouse!" Little Turtle exclaimed excitedly. "Hello, Little Mouse, my name is Little Turtle!"

The little mouse nodded happily when it heard its new name.

After it had eaten its fill, it glanced longingly at the plate of nuts on the table before beginning to explore its surroundings, curiously observing everything.

Jiang watched this scene quietly, then pushed the nut plate on the table toward Little Mouse and said, "Little Mouse, these are all yours. Eat your fill now, and you can eat more tomorrow!"

Clearly, this little squirrel often went hungry in the extremely resource-scarce desert region.

Jiang An had become interested in the gray-leaf sand ginseng as early as when it led her to find it, and hoped to bring it home.

Despite not having a pet contract scroll, the little mouse still chose to follow them back, one of the main reasons being the little turtle.

As a squirrel that has survived in a dangerous desert, it also possesses extraordinary abilities and talents; otherwise, how could it have survived to this day without any fighting power?

For Jiang An, this little squirrel may become a valuable partner in her future exploration of the desert and search for medicinal herbs.

Therefore, even without a formal contractual relationship, Jiang An was willing to accept and take care of it.

"It's just that their combat strength is a bit weak!" Jiang An thought with some dissatisfaction.

But then I thought about it again, and it was still more beneficial than harmful.

Before long, the two little cuties started playing together. The little turtle led the little mouse around the room, whispering to each other as they ran around.

Jiang An then turned on the light screen, which was filled with information.

"How was everyone's haul today? Did you find any useful supplies in the desert?"

"Ugh, don't even mention it. Everyone says oases are rich in resources, but I spent the whole day searching in the desert, and I'm almost sunburnt bald, and I still haven't found anything! I wasted the whole day wandering around outside!"

"Me too, a lot of the water we stored has gone down. If this continues, the little water we stockpiled won't last more than a few days!"

"You're lucky you have water. I stockpiled all my water in my backpack, and they didn't leave me a single drop. Now I'm drinking expensive bottles! I don't know what I'll be doing in the future!"

"Please, please, please, please!"

"Who would have thought this would happen in the game? We're out of water in our backpacks! In the desert, water scarcity is inevitable!"

"Luckily, I bought a water storage container in the game store and stored a gourd full of seawater. Unfortunately, I ran out of it and didn't store any clean water!"

"When I first came to the game, I thought water was the scarcest resource, but I didn't expect it to be here?"

"Now that I think about it, surviving at sea is actually much simpler than surviving in the desert!"

"That's right, it's only the second day, and we already have so much inventory, what can you imagine what will happen in the future?"

"We must find an oasis, or we'll either die of thirst, heatstroke, or sunburn if we're not killed by animals!"

"It seems that the desert is very resource-poor!"
