Chapter 179 Sandstorm (1/2)

"Let's go!" Jiang An shouted anxiously, no longer caring about the camel beside her.

Suddenly, she reached out and yanked the reins sharply to one side, then released them, letting the camel run free to escape.

After doing all this, she hugged the little mouse tightly in her arms and, without hesitation, used the fastest speed she could reach to dash towards the back of the sand dune not far away.

Upon reaching the other side of the sand dune, Jiang An quickly pulled the little turtle out of his pocket and shouted urgently, "Little turtle, quickly transform into your largest form, and then just show your shell!"

Upon hearing its owner's command, the little turtle, though completely unaware of what was happening outside and still inside the pocket, instinctively inflated itself to its maximum size at an astonishing speed.

Then, it skillfully retracted its four claws and head into its incredibly hard shell.

At the same time, Jiang An dared not slack off in the slightest.

She moved her hands rapidly, chanting incantations, and instantly unleashed the earthen wall technique.

As she moved, thick earthen walls rose from the ground, closely arranged on both sides where the little turtle could not be completely covered.

These earthen walls are closely connected, forming an indestructible barrier that tightly protects the space they occupy.

Thanks to Jiang An's efforts, the earthen wall had been piled up as high as a small mountain, perfectly integrated with the incredibly hard tortoise shell.

At this moment, this space, constructed from tortoise shells and layers of earthen walls, is like a hidden and sturdy safe fortress deep behind the sand dunes, standing quietly and silently enduring the onslaught of wind and sand, waiting for the moment when the storm gradually subsides.

Jiang An, holding the little mouse, was hiding in this makeshift shelter.

She held the little mouse tightly in one hand, as if afraid of it suffering even the slightest harm; while with her other hand, she gripped the tortoise shell firmly, not daring to loosen her grip for the slightest.

Time slipped away silently, each minute and second feeling exceptionally long.

Jiang An, in this cramped space, could clearly feel the violent raging of the sandstorm outside.

The wind howled, like a ferocious beast, baring its fangs and claws as it lunged at this fragile land.

The sound of the wind and sand grew louder and closer, as if it were roaring and howling right next to my ear.

"Whoosh~~whoosh~~" Accompanied by a deafening gust of wind, a massive sandstorm swept in with overwhelming force.

In an instant, the world changed color, sand and stones flew, and chaos engulfed everything. Jiang An's heart sank, and he cried out inwardly, "Oh no!"

Despite her extremely quick reactions and lightning-fast speed, all she could do in the face of such a powerful sandstorm was to flee its core area as quickly as possible.

However, the sandstorm she encountered this time was so massive that even though she was far from the eye of the storm, Jiang An had no idea whether the hastily erected shelter could withstand such a violent sandstorm and prevent her from being swept into the air.

With a deafening roar, the sandstorm surged in like a ferocious beast, with countless sand particles crashing wildly and violently against the shelter made of tortoise shells and earthen walls, like dense raindrops.

Each impact was like a heavy hammer pounding on the fragile defenses, causing the entire shelter to shake violently in the raging wind and sand, as if it were about to collapse at any moment.

Jiang An dared not slacken in the slightest, keeping his eyes tightly closed and holding the little mouse close in his warm embrace.

At this moment, her heart was filled with unease, the instinctive fear of nature, but at the same time, she held a faint hope and silently prayed to heaven that this simple refuge could survive this terrible disaster.

Just then, she suddenly felt a heavy object slam down on her head, followed by a series of rapid impacts.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she quickly opened her eyes, only to see clearly a large amount of sand pouring down from above like a waterfall.

Jiang An hurriedly looked up and followed the direction in which the sand and dust fell. What she saw made her heart sink – the earthen wall next to her had quietly developed a shocking crack!

Before she could react, a deafening roar erupted. The already crumbling makeshift shelter could no longer withstand the immense pressure and instantly collapsed, vanishing without a trace into ruins.
