Chapter 66 Exploration (2/2)

After all, the rainforest at night is full of more unknowns and dangers.

And this location is just the perfect campsite.

Therefore, Jiang An decided without hesitation to set up camp there for the night.

Of course, there was still some time before dark, and the urgency of survival prevented her from stopping to rest for even a moment.

She quickly took a bottle of energy water from her backpack and gulped it down, replenishing her fluids and giving herself a little extra energy.

Jiang An tightened his trouser legs again to make sure no insects could crawl inside.

Then, she took out a sharp axe and walked towards the outermost large tree.

The axe swung in the air, making crisp "bang" sounds, each swing carrying determination and power.

As time went by, only the chirping of birds and the sound of Jiang An chopping down trees remained all around.

She wielded the axe skillfully, her technique adept, each strike landing precisely on the tree trunk.

A short while later, the first big tree crashed down, and she quickly broke it into 12 neat wooden blocks, which she then put into her backpack.

"Bang bang bang..." The sound of chopping continued, and Jiang An's movements became faster and faster, as if he were racing against time.

She didn't stop swinging her axe until night fell and only the last faint ray of sunlight remained in the western sky.

Jiang An gently wiped the sweat from his forehead, his gaze falling on the wooden blocks scattered on the ground.

These were the fruits of her hard work, and she put them all directly into her backpack.

At this point, the number of wood blocks in the backpack has increased from [4810 wood blocks] to [5631 wood blocks].

Standing on the cleared land she had cleared, Jiang An looked at everything before her with satisfaction.

A surge of pride welled up inside her, and she couldn't help but give herself a thumbs-up, exclaiming, "I'm so amazing!"

It wouldn't hurt to have more wooden blocks on hand during the cold season, and Jiang An also had a feeling that the wooden blocks would be used for much more than that.

Then, she turned and walked toward the campsite she had already chosen.

When she arrived, she had already cleared away all the weeds, leaving only a bare flat area.

She gathered the dry branches she had collected while cutting down trees, then picked up a shovel and began digging a simple trench to reduce the impact of the cold night winds and make it easier to start a fire.

Of course, this method was not something a novice like her would know; it was a little survival skill she had learned when she explored the island with He Zhizhou last time.

Soon, a roaring flame rose up, crackling and popping, and the scorching firelight shone on Jiang An's face, giving her a sense of warmth.

The surrounding cold air seemed to be driven away by the fire.

With fire, the wild beasts around will be afraid.

The likelihood of being attacked by wild animals at night is greatly reduced.

Jiang An sat in front of the fire, took out the only pack of wet wipes, and carefully wiped his muddy hands and dirty face.

At this moment, Jiang An, who had been busy all day, realized that her clothes were tattered, but she had neither the mood to care about them nor the time to fix them.

She took a meat bun out of her backpack, took a big bite, and swallowed the whole bun in two or three bites.

Then she drank another bottle of water, and then she felt much better.

While cutting down trees, her physical exhaustion made her completely ignore the feeling of hunger. Now, sitting by the fire, she suddenly realized that she was starving.

With food in his stomach, Jiang An no longer ate in such a hurry.

She gently opened her backpack and took out another meat bun.

The steaming bun was hot and smelled enticing, but Jiang An didn't wolf it down. Instead, she took small bites of the bun skin and savored its deliciousness.

Every bite is full of satisfaction, as if you are enjoying a feast.

While eating her steamed buns, she listened to the terrifying roars of unknown animals in the rainforest.

These sounds were especially clear at night, sending chills down one's spine.

However, Jiang An remained unusually calm and composed.

Her gaze was firm, and there was no fear on her face, as if she had long been accustomed to this harsh environment.

The moonlight shone on her resilient yet delicate face, making her appear even stronger and braver.

I don't know if this was her original personality or if her environment changed her.

Jiang An sat quietly in place, eating her steamed buns while observing the surrounding activity.

She discovered that, over time, the roars in the rainforest became less frequent, replaced by silence.

The silence was oppressive, as if the whole world had been swallowed by darkness.

But Jiang An was not afraid because of this.

Before she knew it, she had already eaten five meat buns.

This dinner was incredibly lavish for a starving person, but after eating steamed buns for so many meals in a row, she was starting to get a little tired of them.

Nevertheless, she stuffed the last bite of the bun into her mouth and then licked her lips with satisfaction.

After eating and drinking his fill, Jiang An took an apple out of his backpack.

Upon opening the light screen, unsurprisingly, all other functions on the screen were unusable; only the backpack function was available.

Faced with reality, Jiang An sighed helplessly.

Jiang An categorized and organized the items in her backpack. Items that could fit in one compartment were placed in that compartment. Smaller items were stored in her backpack or carried with her.

She prepared several burlap sacks specifically for this island trip.

When leaving the island, hold on tight, and the items will be brought onto the raft along with Jiang An.

Tonight is destined to be a sleepless night; she is all alone in the wilderness, with no one to rely on.

In this situation, she dared not fall asleep easily and had to remain vigilant at all times.

After all, there are unknown dangers everywhere here, and one wrong move could cost you your life.

But without anything to distract her, how can she maintain her energy and stay awake when she is extremely tired?

Jiang An couldn't guarantee it either.

She had been busy all day, and her body was desperately clamoring for rest and sleep.

With a sigh, Jiang An suddenly stood up, because she suddenly remembered that there was still one task to be done in the wild: spraying animal repellent powder around the area.

She had bought this at a high price, but she had carelessly forgotten about this important matter.

Soon, the animal repellent powder was sprayed out.

She gripped her weapon tightly, sitting quietly in place, occasionally adding firewood to the fire in front of her, waiting for dawn to arrive...
