Chapter 1 Third Sister is Not Third Sister

Looking at the dark, unappetizing vegetable pancake in his hand, Qin Jiangqiu sighed deeply, tears welling up in his eyes without a word!

Yesterday, she transmigrated! And right in one fell swoop, she was given three little brats and an old mother! Her cheap husband was killed by bandits three years ago while traveling with a broker. The news was brought back by the elders who went with him, so it should be true.

From that day on, Qin Jiangqiu became a true widow!

Her stepmother-in-law, Wang Li, was notoriously difficult to deal with. While her husband, Wang Dalang, was alive, he treated them poorly, and after his death, he became even more unrestrained. Not only did she take on all the chores inside and outside the house, but when it came time to flee, she abandoned them, a widow and her orphan, and naturally, she wouldn't agree to her request to take her mother, Liu, with her.

Qin Jiangqiu's mother, Liu, was a well-known midwife in the surrounding villages, skilled in childbirth and having amassed some wealth. Liu had a son and a daughter. Besides her eldest daughter, Qin Jiangqiu, her younger son had secretly joined the army in his early years, and after the war broke out, he was never heard from again. Old Man Qin had also long since passed away. In a way, Qin Liu was a pitiful person.

If this had happened two months ago, the greedy Wang Li would definitely have agreed to bring Liu along. However, things didn't go as planned. Liu recently fell and broke her leg. The medical treatment alone has cost a fortune, and her leg isn't fully healed yet. Wouldn't she be an extra burden on the road?!

So, on a dark and windy night, Wang Li tricked Qin Jiangqiu into taking his three children to pick up Liu, while the rest of the family fled with the villagers.

When the mother, her children, and Qin Liushi returned, Wangjia Village was already deserted!

Qin Jiangqiu felt a chill in his heart. He thought that if that ruthless killer with the beard entered the village, staying there would be a death sentence. So, he steeled his resolve and set off with his mother and children!

As for where to go? She didn't know, but it was roughly heading south. As for food? Besides what her mother had brought, Qin Jiangqiu had also been careful. She had hidden the last bit of food, three taels of silver, and fifty copper coins in a tree hole by the door. Although there was a risk that they would be taken by cats or dug up by dogs, it was better than being discovered by her stepmother-in-law.

Regardless, the mother and her children set off on their journey, albeit with some stumbles and setbacks.

As for how Qin Jiangqiu transmigrated here? Most likely, the original owner starved to death on the road! A few pumpkin pancakes and a bag of millet—how many days' worth of food could that be?! Malnutrition coupled with constant fear and anxiety—he'd either starve or die of fright!

Looking at the desolate, yellow dirt road, Qin Jiangqiu truly felt utterly hopeless! Before she could even let out another sigh, she heard a voice as soft as a mosquito's buzz asking, "Mother, Mother, please eat your vegetable pancake!"

"Yes, Third Sister, eat quickly. We can talk about the next meal later. Besides, I still have some food on me!"

Looking up, she saw the old woman and the boy staring at her, while the other two boys tried their best to surround her with their thin bodies. Although they had fallen far behind, no one knew if there would be any stray refugees following them. If they saw that their mother had food in her hand, even just a vegetable pancake, it might bring disaster upon them!

Qin Jiangqiu was the third child in her family, and was also known as Qin San Niang.

Looking at the concerned eyes of these elderly and infirm people, and seeing how much the child's mouth is watering, one might wonder: Looking down at the small vegetable pancake in one's hand, no bigger than a child's palm, a food that even pigs would disdain in those days, suddenly seems exceptionally precious.

Qin Jiangqiu herself also wanted to live. If possible, she might even be able to fight her way back. Her death in her previous life was truly pathetic!

Originally, Qin Jiangqiu was a forensic doctor who had worked in the public security system for two years. She was a successful older single woman who went through a smooth process of blind dates and marriage. Her husband was a public servant who later resigned to go into business. In just a few years, she went from being unknown to having many friends and acquaintances. She had put in a lot of effort to achieve this.

To outsiders, they seem like a perfect couple, but they are actually constantly being pressured to have a baby. Unfortunately, even though they treat sex like a homework assignment, they still haven't been able to conceive.

You mean IVF? Not all IVF treatments are successful; at least in her case, it was a waste of time. Later, her marriage ran into trouble, and then that trouble too—this young and talented man had an affair.

Qin Jiangqiu thought of the young girl smiling sweetly in her husband's arms and felt it was a great irony.

On the day of the accident, she went on a shopping spree, seemingly to alleviate her anxiety. Afterwards, she went to a supermarket to buy desserts and chocolates, things she usually avoided because of her pregnancy, but now she wanted to eat her fill. Little did she know that this decision would end her life.

The supermarket exploded!

Before she died, her soul wandered to the heavens, and the resentment in her heart drove her crazy. She hadn't divorced the scumbag, hadn't demanded any property, hadn't even had a chance to slap him, and hadn't even been able to eat a piece of chocolate...

Before Qin Jiangqiu could recover from her pain and frustration, something suddenly appeared in her hand. When she opened it, it turned out to be chocolate.

"Mother, what is this?" Xiao Er asked in a soft voice. It looked like a black, dark patch of earth, just like the ones he used to play house with when he was little.

The waiter wondered if his mother had gone mad with hunger. She was even willing to eat dirt! There was indeed a type of dirt that was edible, but it wasn't like this. He didn't know what that dirt was called, but he was sure it wasn't this dark, murky color.

Qin San Niang was certain that these were unwrapped chocolates. She silently thought to herself, "The supermarket where I was before I died has appeared. Can I take out all the supplies here and use them? Heaven really hasn't abandoned me!"

Morale is boosted!

Since that's the case, then let's live well!

Maybe she can go back and teach that scumbag a lesson! The key is that before she finds a way to travel back in time, she first has to stay alive.

The children in front of him were quite endearing, and the mother was also a good one. Considering that she gave him the only steamed bun, Qin Jiangqiu felt it was inappropriate to go too far, especially since he was taking over the bodies of the mother and daughter.

"This is delicious, Anan, you should try it, it's so sweet!" Qin Jiangqiu forced a gentle smile, forgiving herself for truly not knowing how to interact with little children. Her youngest daughter was called Anan, her eldest son was called Da Wa, and her second son was called Xiao Er; compared to others, Anan was actually a pretty good name!

Is this really edible?! A-Nan had never disobeyed her mother, but her mother never lied either, so she leaned in and took a bite with her dirty little mouth.

Liu looked at her eldest daughter with some disapproval, really wanting to say that she still had some food and money on her, and that she could go into town to buy some more food when they arrived.

The eldest brother and the second brother stared intently at their younger sister. When their sister's eyes suddenly lit up, she nodded repeatedly at them, "Big brother, second brother, this is really delicious! Sweet! Sweeter than the candy Dad bought!"

When she mentioned her father, Da Wa glanced at his mother. Ever since his father passed away, his mother had lost her smile, and sometimes he could hear her crying secretly at night.
