Chapter 15 Third Sister Buys a Car

"Mother, tomorrow I'll take Fatty to the South Market to buy livestock and also stock up on some grain. You rest in the inn this morning, and if you have time, mend our worn-out clothes." Qin San Niang muttered as she rubbed Liu's back with a loofah. This loofah was quite useful.

Actually, she didn't intend to keep those worn-out clothes. She would go to the fabric store tomorrow to buy some fabric and make two sets of clothes for each of them. However, she couldn't throw away these old clothes. After all, it wouldn't look right to always wear new clothes on the road. Standing out from the crowd would bring disaster.

But before that, she planned to make some money.

When I got there, I realized that many of the things in the supermarket were actually not suitable for sale. In the end, I decided to try selling dried goods. The dried goods section of the supermarket was quite large, with all kinds of mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, kelp and so on. It would be a shame not to sell them.

After settling into the inn for the night, with nothing left to hide behind closed doors, Qin San Niang took two braised chickens, two servings of braised pork, and a few side dishes from the supermarket. To avoid attracting attention, she also bought ten large, flat steamed buns from the waiter. These buns were already quite similar to those of later generations, some with fillings and some without. Considering that she already had so many dishes, she opted for the unfilled ones.

A steamed bun costs three coins, which is shockingly expensive.

The young man gets a commission for each steamed bun sold. Because the price isn't cheap, sales aren't great, but those who can afford the entry fee to the city are mostly migrants with some savings, and they can still squeeze out a few coins to buy a steamed bun for their child.

Even so, few people could afford to buy ten steamed buns as generously as Qin San Niang.

The young waiter, with a smile in his eyes, wrapped up the steamed bun and handed it to her. Unexpectedly, this woman, though not dressed very well, was quite willing to spend money on things like boiling water for bathing and buying food. Moreover, she spoke with a cheerful smile and seemed very kind.

When asked by Qin San Niang if there was a shop selling dried goods, the young shop assistant answered all her questions without reservation.

"Sister, you've come to the right person! My uncle from my mother's side is in the dried goods business. If you're planning to sell dried goods, you can go to him. He's famous for being honest and trustworthy!" I didn't expect that Qin San Niang was planning to sell dried goods. No wonder she was willing to spend money to buy steamed buns. This business is very profitable.

She then inquired about which dried goods sold well, and having a better understanding of the situation, Qin San Niang thanked the young shop assistant and hurried back to her room.

At dinner, the children were exceptionally excited. Their mother had bought so much meat, and Liu was beaming with delight.

Wu Chunhua and Pang Ya, who were called over to eat together, had never seen so much meat laid out together before, and their eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

Liu thought to herself that this deity was really generous, giving away so much meat so readily. The aroma alone was enough to whet her appetite, and the side dishes were also lush and glossy, looking much better than wild vegetables.

"Mother, did you buy all this? Does this mean we can eat all the meat we want today?" the waiter asked, biting his chopsticks and swallowing hard.

These chopsticks were borrowed from the waiter. I'm not afraid you'll bite them off, but aren't you worried about breaking your teeth by biting them so hard?!

"Yes, little one, eat more in a little while, and don't bite the chopsticks with your teeth." No matter what, she's her own mother now, so it's perfectly fine for her to scold the child a few times.

"Mother, this is too lavish!" The eldest son had grown up and had been worried for days about whether the family had enough money. He had thought his mother was hungry and needed a good meal, but since then she had been full at every meal. Could it really be the work of the gods? Was that why his mother had money to buy food?

Regardless, Da Wa felt this was a good thing, and he would never tell Aunt Wu and Fatty Sister that it was his family's big secret!

If Qin San Niang knew how sensible her eldest son was, she would definitely praise him lavishly.

"Everyone, hurry up and eat! It's been so long since we've had meat. We still have a long way to go after we've eaten. We also need to buy livestock and grain tomorrow. Fatty, you'll come with Third Aunt." Liu Shi quickly interjected, afraid the children might let something slip. Eating meat could shut them up, and she would give them a lecture later. Although Fatty and her mother seemed nice, Liu Shi was still unwilling to take the risk; even a deity wouldn't want others to know his secret.

Upon hearing her name called, the chubby girl nodded quickly, her mouth practically watering.

Wu Chunhua did hear about the livestock purchase, but if they bought livestock, her daughter Pangya would be useless. She wondered if Liu and the others were planning to take them along. Even if they didn't, it wouldn't matter; Pangya was strong and could take care of her daughter.

Thinking about this, she lost her appetite. While everyone else was enjoying their meal, she was still lost in thought.

Having read this far, Qin San Niang roughly understood her thoughts.

"Can Fatty drive? Whether it's a donkey cart, oxcart, or mule cart, neither my mother nor I can drive." She wasn't one to beat around the bush; she preferred to communicate directly to resolve issues rather than keep things bottled up inside, which only made things worse.

Wu's eyes lit up, and she nodded eagerly, "Yes, yes, Fatty can drive mule carts and donkey carts. In the past, when the landlord's daughters in our village wanted to go to the city, they would always have Fatty drive them. She's strong and has worked for the landlords all year round!"

Speaking of this, Wu was quite happy. The landlord's young lady was a good person. Because Fatty had once protected her, she often made Fatty do chores so that Fatty could eat better, since Fatty was never full at her own home.

Hearing her mother and the others mention driving, the chubby girl, with a mouthful of steamed buns, quickly nodded in agreement with her mother, indicating that she really could drive.

This is really great, although Qin San Niang felt this...
