Chapter 65: Is he suffering from depression?

Zhen Wanwan was telling a story to a group of children inside the house, completely unaware that someone was impersonating her.

Da Ni lay on the bed, watching over the twins, and asked curiously, "Auntie, are there really seven fairy maidens in this world? Why aren't they happily living as fairies in heaven?"

"In heaven, she has no worries about food or clothing, and enjoys beautiful clothes and fresh delicacies every day. Why would she be so foolish as to descend to earth and marry Dong Yong?"

Zhen Wanwan was taken aback by the question. How should she explain it?

Could it be that the Seven Fairy Maidens were love-struck and doting wives?

"This... is probably true love..."

She didn't know what the Seventh Fairy was thinking, but she wouldn't descend to earth to be a virtuous wife and loving mother for Dong Yong; she just wanted to live a good life.

Dog Egg looked at Da Ni with disdain: "What do you know? The Seven Fairies only wanted Dong Yong because he was poor! And because he was old and didn't bathe."

"Ouch, Auntie, why did you hit my head!"

Zhen Wanwan chuckled to herself, blaming herself for telling the children at home too many internet jokes.

Well, they haven't learned anything good, but they've ended up knowing all sorts of nonsensical internet slang.

She would have to choose the best things to say from now on, otherwise she was afraid that her children would drive their teachers crazy when they went to school.

Her ability to roast people is truly masterful; sometimes she can't even keep up with the conversation.

"How's your homework going? If you don't hand it in on time, I won't give you any candy!" Zhen Wanwan threatened.

Sure enough, when it came to homework, these mischievous kids each made excuses to sneak out.

Zhen Wanwan watched their retreating figures with amusement. She had started teaching them to recognize and write characters half a month ago, but she had been so busy these past few days that she had forgotten to check on their progress.

She climbed onto the bed and lay there like a corpse, feeling extremely bored. However, she couldn't leave the house during her postpartum confinement period, so all she could do was play with the baby and tinker with things in her spatial dimension.

Last night, having nothing to do, she put some soil into her space, intending to sow seeds in a foot basin. She dumped half a bag of seeds from the vegetable section all at once.

I don't know if plants can survive in a supermarket without sunlight, but I'll just give it a try.

When Zhen Wanwan regained consciousness, she immediately looked at the twins. She saw that Tianbao was having a sweet dream, her little mouth slightly pursed, sucking occasionally.

You must have dreamt about breastfeeding!

Zhen Wanwan chuckled and gently pecked her rosy cheeks, then glanced out of the corner of her eye and noticed her baby staring at her with wide eyes.

"Sweetie, how come you have such good eyesight? You noticed when your little sister kissed you. Come here... Mommy will kiss you too..." Zhen Wanwan refused to admit that she was being biased, and after being caught by her son, she shamelessly put her mouth to his.

After a slight resistance, the little boy let Zhen Wanwan kiss his face all over, and he pouted as if he was about to cry.

Zhen Wanwan laughed in exasperation: "What, you're complaining about your mother now?"

For some reason, even though the twins were only three days old, Zhen Wanwan always seemed to be able to guess what they meant.

Aside from making a couple of noises while nursing, Tianbao just stares blankly at the ceiling. If her mother doesn't pick her up or play with her, Tianbao won't cry or fuss. She just often watches enviously as her brother is picked up by their mother.

Most of the time, Zhen Wanwan would succumb to her wet eyes and switch partners.

Guai Bao would listen to her stories with great interest every day, chewing on his fingers and occasionally pausing to think, acting all like a little old man, which made her feel embarrassed to change clothes in front of him.

Besides, every time he poops or pees, his diaper needs to be changed immediately, otherwise he'll whine and fuss. I don't know where he got this little germaphobia from!

Anyway, it wasn't her alone. Thinking back to when she lived alone in her past life, her room was such a mess it was unbearable to look at...

It's all tears when I talk about it.

Suddenly, a commotion broke out outside, disrupting Zhen Wanwan's thoughts, and she stopped teasing the baby.

After putting on her shoes and another coat, she got up and went out to see what was going on.

They ran into Wang Cuihua, who had just returned from delivering food and medicine to Grandpa Zhen and the others.

"Where are you going, little sister-in-law?" Wang Cuihua asked in a low voice as she stood outside the cave with a lunchbox in her hand.

Caught red-handed, Zhen Wanwan smiled awkwardly: "I heard a commotion outside and thought something had happened again."

"Oh, I haven't had a chance to tell you yet. It was Mr. Qu who invited soldiers over to check the grain."

"So fast?"

She thought General Xiao wouldn't send anyone over until the afternoon.

Seeing that Zhen Wanwan was still standing at the cave entrance looking out, Wang Cuihua was afraid that she would not listen to Old Lady Li and catch a cold, so she considerately reminded her, "Although the weather is nice today, it is very windy outside. Sister-in-law, you should go back. It would be bad if you caught a cold standing here."

"Okay, sister-in-law, I'll help you carry it..."

Without Li Zhenzhen's interference during this period, Wang Cuihua felt very comfortable, with plenty of food and drink every day and her sister-in-law no longer causing trouble.

Occasionally, when something happens to me, my sister-in-law helps take care of the children, and my mother-in-law also entrusts her with the responsibility of fetching grain. I really hope that this idyllic life can continue forever.

After entering the house, Zhen Wanwan picked up the half-crocheted woolen hat and began to crochet it quickly.

Even when she was busy with work, she kept an eye on the noise outside. There were quite a few people around, and Zhen Wanwan had things on her mind, so she wasn't in the mood to just sit there.

She briefly told Wang Cuihua and then headed towards the Fang family's house next door.

Siqin carefully served Madam Fang her meal, occasionally wiping her eyes secretly. Madam Fang had a tired and pale face, making her look very unwell.

Zhen Wanwan was stunned. How could the beautiful woman have changed so much in just one day?

"Is Madam unwell?"

Mrs. Fang looked up at Zhen Wanwan, then put down her chopsticks. She really had no appetite: "Why did you have time to come over today?"

"I'm so bored, sitting all day is so uncomfortable!" Zhen Wanwan said resentfully.

If she were to have a normal birth like everyone else, she felt she might go crazy. Living in bed all day without a cell phone felt like being in prison.

She's even lost interest in showing off her snacks.

Mrs. Fang shook her head and chuckled helplessly. After a while, she said to her with envy, "I envy your constitution. When the baby was in your belly, you ate everything with relish. Now that you've given birth, you're just like everyone else."

Zhen Wanwan felt ashamed and wanted to say a few words to comfort Madam Fang, but after seeing her expression, she couldn't speak.

Siqin, with a worried expression, held the rice porridge that Madam Fang had not finished eating, and said with a sob in her voice, "Madam only ate a few bites today. What if she gets hungry? Even if you don't think about yourself, you have to think about the little boy in your belly."

Mrs. Fang pushed Siqin's hand away with annoyance, looking forlornly out the door, as if she had remembered something sad again.

Thinking that Zhen Wanwan was still here, Madam Fang cheered up and chatted with her for a few words before yawning wearily.

Zhen Wanwan guessed that Mrs. Fang might have depression or prenatal anxiety.

Seeing that she was in very poor spirits, Zhen Wanwan tactfully took her leave.
