Chapter 395 Love Can No Longer Be Hidden

Nestled in familiar arms, Zhen Wanwan felt her sense of security return.

When people around saw the couple together, they would tacitly look away, but in their hearts, they would start to miss their wives and their big, fat sons and daughters at home.

When his beloved wife appeared before him, Zhu Yuan felt the fatigue from traveling day and night for the past two days vanish instantly.

"I'm sorry to have worried you, my wife. I'm doing very well!"

Zhu Yuan squeezed Zhen Wanwan's small hand, staring at her without blinking, as if making up for the separation of the past few days all at once.

Zhen Wanwan's eyes were slightly moist. She gave a soft "hmm" and, realizing that there were other people present, she left Zhu Yuan's embrace with embarrassment.

He then said the suggestion he had just made: "Generals, I know you are all upright and brave men, but you also have parents, wives and children to support you!"

"In war, swords have no eyes, and anything can happen. Even if you generals are highly skilled in martial arts, what about your soldiers? They also have parents, wives, and children. If something unexpected happens, what will happen to their families?"

"I think we don't need to fight head-on this time! Let's try a different approach, make them panic, and then we can just put on a show and they'll surrender without resistance. Wouldn't that be better?"

When the generals heard Zhen Wanwan mention her family, they all felt a pang of longing.

But they returned to normal in just a few seconds. The reason they were able to get to this position since joining the army is because they are not afraid of death and dare to fight!

Now they're all timid and hesitant, which makes them feel uneasy.

Zhu Yuan could tell what these people were thinking at a glance. Military generals are usually all brawn and no brains, and General Xiao was no exception in the past.

Although the people he carefully selected were loyal to him, they couldn't shake off their old military habits.

Over the years, he has been by General Xiao's side. It's all thanks to his shrewdness that General Xiao has been schemed against countless times.

Those who are able to remain stationed in Anqing Prefecture are all people he trusts, and he still listens to the opinions of his subordinates.

But he also has to listen to his wife!

"Madam, do you want us to launch a surprise attack on their supplies?"

Burning enemy supplies was a common, underhanded tactic in warfare, so Zhuyuan asked a question out of habit.

He has mastered this method to perfection, using it repeatedly over and over again.

The Northern Hu people had dealt with him more than once or twice, and were not as easily fooled as before. If he needed to get this done, he would have to think of a better way.

Zhen Wanwan shook her head: "No! What I mean is, let's take a more open approach!"

"I have something in my hand that will sting if it gets into the eyes or other sensitive areas of an ordinary person. I think we can use this to throw them into disarray, and then we can press our advantage and strike them with an arrow to break their spirit. After that, our soldiers can go into battle and kill the enemy!"

"Of course, the tactics involved should be discussed further with my husband and the generals. If needed, I can provide this item!"

After hearing this, Zhu Yuan's lips curled up slightly. He roughly knew what that thing was!

When he first ate chili peppers, they almost made him cry.

After thinking about it, this thing is indeed very lethal!

But these are just cooking ingredients; wouldn't it be a waste to waste them on the enemy?

Zhen Wanwan seemed to sense Zhu Yuan's concerns, and then shook her head to indicate that she knew what she was doing.

Zhu Yuan said nothing more, and turned to the other generals to discuss the details of the battle.

Zhen Wanwan sensibly stepped back and went to wait in Zhuyuan's tent.

The camp was exactly as she had arrived, it seemed that Zhu Yuan went straight to find them as soon as he returned.

Zhen Wanwan tidied up the tent briefly and arranged for someone to prepare some hot water so that Zhu Yuan could wash up when he returned.

Led by a soldier, she went to the kitchen to prepare a meal for Zhu Yuan herself.

With war imminent, Zhuyuan probably hasn't had a proper meal along the way.

While Zhen Wanwan was busy as a bee, Zhu Yuan was just as busy.

He walked to the miniature map of Anqing Prefecture, pointed to a location, and said, "Yang Cong will lead his men to bypass them from here and block their return route... Wang Li and Cai Xin will flank them from both sides... and you will..."

The tent was filled with chatter as everyone shared their thoughts and combat experiences.

This meeting lasted until late at night…

Zhen Wanwan stood guard over the food that had gone cold, her head bobbing sleepily, her cheeks flushed red, looking very cute.

Zhu Yuan rubbed his temples wearily as he entered, and seeing his wife's adorable appearance warmed his heart.

He walked forward gently, picked her up by the waist, and carried her to the bed.

He got up to wash up, but when he saw the abundant food on the table, he thought for a moment and walked over to the table and sat down.

Ignoring whether the food was cold or not, I finished my dinner with great satisfaction.

He then tiptoed out of the camp, washed himself thoroughly, and entered the tent, where he happily and contentedly held Zhen Wanwan as they fell asleep.

In her dream, Zhen Wanwan felt a warm embrace and unconsciously snuggled into the other person's arms.

She hummed softly twice and then drifted off to sleep.

The tent was pitch black at this moment; if a lamp were lit, one would surely see Zhu Yuan's upturned lips.

the next day.

Zhen Wanwan woke up groggily, rubbing her eyes. She had been woken up by the sounds of training.

She touched the edge of the bed and found that it was still warm. She subconsciously looked at the table and found that the food she had prepared yesterday had been eaten.

She felt both touched and heartbroken. The food had gone cold, and she realized that the silly boy hadn't reheated it before eating it, and hadn't even bothered to wake her up.

"Madam! You're awake? Did you sleep well?"

Zhu Yuan brought in a bowl of porridge and a plate of steamed buns; this was the army's breakfast.

When Zhu Yuan lived in the military camp before, he didn't think the meals were simple, but now he felt they were very meager.

He felt a pang of guilt, as he felt that Zhen Wanwan had eaten so poorly.

Zhen Wanwan didn't know what he was thinking, but the moment she saw him, she ran over and gave him a big hug.

"Husband! Have you had breakfast? If not, eat with me! I can't finish it all by myself!"

Zhu Yuan smiled and nodded, saying, "Not yet, Madam, please come and eat."

Zhen Wanwan happily hummed in agreement, and couldn't resist kissing his perfect lips. Seeing his bewildered expression, she secretly chuckled with satisfaction.

She felt like a girl who had just started dating, wanting to be close to him every day.

As Zhen Wanwan turned around, she didn't notice that Zhu Yuan touched his lips and looked at her with a gaze filled with mad love.

Zhu Yuan felt that his suppressed love could no longer be hidden. He had previously hidden seven-tenths of his love for fear of scaring her.

He thought that perhaps his wife had fallen in love with him and kept him in her heart.

He doesn't need to suppress it anymore!
