Chapter 102: The Mystery of Halloween

Then Xenophilius Lovegood went to his desk and began to write a letter.

Luna picked up the photo on the table again and looked at it carefully.

Not long after, an owl flew from Xenophilius Lovegood's home to Hogwarts, carrying the letter he had written.

At this time, in the headmaster's office of Hogwarts, Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall were savoring delicious sizzling honey candy, although Dumbledore was eating while Professor McGonagall was watching.

"Minerva, you really don't want to come a little?"

Dumbledore, holding a candy bar in his hand, gestured to Professor McGonagall.

Professor McGonagall kept her eyes on Dumbledore and said in a serious tone: "Albus, I hope you know what you are doing! You actually let Lupin teach Wentworth spells? My God, Wentworth has already shown us his inflammatory eloquence, witty thinking, and the gift of prophecy from Grindelwald's bloodline!"

"If you add in a spell level that far exceeds that of his peers, are you really sure that you will still be able to control him in the future?"

Dumbledore saw that Professor McGonagall seemed to have no interest in the sizzling honey candy in his hand, so he put it into his mouth with a look of regret, and then he said slowly: "Minerva, we don't have to control him. Control students? No, no, we are Hogwarts, and as professors, it is our responsibility to make every student become better!"

Hearing Dumbledore's words, Professor McGonagall immediately pulled her face down, raised her chin and said:

"Albus, what did you say when Wentworth was first admitted? That's why I am willing to cooperate with you. Don't forget your original intention!"

Facing Professor McGonagall's questioning, Dumbledore still said calmly: "Yes, Minerva, I have not forgotten. That is why I want Wentworth to learn spells from Lupin, because only magic can defeat magic!"

Professor McGonagall seemed to be about to say something else, but before she could open her mouth, Dumbledore spoke first: "Minerva, how is the matter I asked you to investigate going?"

Professor McGonagall was startled when she heard Dumbledore's question. She sighed and said, "I have carefully investigated recently. There are thirteen students who did not show up at the Halloween party that night or left the party very soon. They have the time to enter the Wentworth dormitory."

"For all twelve of them, witnesses could be found, as most of them were in pairs, with the exception of one."

At this point, Professor McGonagall paused, and then slowly said a name: "Cassandra."

However, Professor McGonagall then said:

"Albus, do you really think that this was done by a Hogwarts student? A Hogwarts student couldn't make that portkey!"

Dumbledore said with a cold face: "Similarly, wizards from the outside world cannot enter Hogwarts, right?"

Dumbledore's words discouraged Professor McGonagall. Although she didn't want to admit it, what Dumbledore said was indeed right.

"How are you going to do that, Albus?"

Professor McGonagall sighed and then asked slowly.

But Dumbledore waved his hand and said with an inexplicable look:

"Don't do anything. Fear can inspire a person's potential!"

Afterwards, the two chatted for a few more sentences and then Professor McGonagall said goodbye and left, but she met Hagrid who was rushing in outside the headmaster's office at Hogwarts.

"Professor McGonagall, there is a letter from Headmaster Dumbledore."

Seeing this, Professor McGonagall had to turn around again and welcome Hagrid into the headmaster's office. When Hagrid handed the letter to Dumbledore, Dumbledore looked at the sender's name on the envelope and showed a hint of surprise.

Then Dumbledore opened the envelope and read it carefully.

"Please help me mail this letter!"

Dumbledore gave instructions to Hagrid, and after Hagrid turned and left, Professor McGonagall was about to leave with him, but was stopped by Dumbledore.

"Minerva, guess who sent that letter just now?"

Professor McGonagall was stunned by Dumbledore's question, then slowly shook her head.

Dumbledore did not pretend to be mysterious, and said with a smile:

"Do you remember Xenophilius Lovegood?"

Professor McGonagall showed a trace of surprise on her face, and asked tentatively, "I have some impression. I remember that he was a student of Ravenclaw."

Dumbledore nodded and continued:

"Yes, he has founded a newspaper now. The name of the newspaper is The Quibbler. The letter I just received is from him. In the letter, he asked me if there is a freshman named Wentworth among this year's freshmen."

"Moreover, he also listed several things about Wentworth in the letter and asked me whether Wentworth had done these things and whether Wentworth was my favorite student."

Professor McGonagall heard Dumbledore's narration and said in confusion:

"How does he know these things? No, why is he asking these questions? How did you answer him?"

Dumbledore said with a smile: "My answer is - of course!"

In the afternoon, Xenophilius Lovegood, who was at home, received a reply from Dumbledore. Seeing that Dumbledore decisively admitted it in the letter, Xenophilius Lovegood didn't know why he felt relieved.

At this time, Luna came over and asked:

"Father, what did the headmaster of Hogwarts say?"

Xenophilius Lovegood handed the reply letter to Luna and said casually:

"It looks like I'll have to work overtime tonight to finish my manuscript!"

When Luna saw that there was only one word in the reply, a hint of curiosity appeared at the corner of her mouth.

At this time, Wentworth had just finished a day of spell practice, and together with Cedric, he dragged his tired body back to the Hufflepuff common room.

Seeing the two people coming back, Green immediately came up to them and wanted to ask them what they had learned in the past two days, but was pushed away by Wentworth.

"Don't say anything, don't ask anything, I'm tired, go to sleep!"

After saying that, Wentworth walked straight to his dormitory.

Wentworth fell asleep quickly and didn't know that he was about to become famous.
