Chapter 218 Goodbye Letter

Judging from the handwriting on the letter, Wentworth was sure that this anonymous letter was from the same person as the one he had received before, which said: "I've been discovered, be careful!!!" The same person had written a message for him in the Grindelwald family treasury in Gringotts.

However, when Wentworth held the letter in his hand, he couldn't help but fall into deep thought.

Did the mysterious man escape and make an appointment with me?

Or was he eventually captured by some force, who intended to use him as bait to lure him to Hogsmeade?

After thinking about it for a long time but still couldn't figure it out, Wentworth decided to take the simplest approach: report to the teacher!

When Wentworth arrived at the headmaster's office at Hogwarts, Dumbledore was wearing a very festive outfit and happily eating some unknown candy in the office.

Dumbledore didn't seem surprised to see Wentworth coming, but smiled and called Wentworth over, inviting him to taste the candies together. He also told Wentworth that these were all kinds of candies sent to him by his former students from all over the world, and there was an indescribable pride in his words.

Wentworth, who was asking for help, used his acting skills to the fullest and kept agreeing with Dumbledore, saying something: Oh, Headmaster, you are so awesome!

The seniors have been thinking of you, Headmaster Dumbledore.

I really hope I can become a professor at Hogwarts in the future!

Dumbledore seemed very happy to hear these words. However, when Wentworth finished his last sentence, Dumbledore suddenly narrowed his eyes, smiled and asked:

"Wentworth, do you really want to stay at Hogwarts to teach after graduation?"

Wentworth was stunned, and smiled awkwardly, but did not agree.

Dumbledore looked at Wentworth deeply and said:

"It might be a good idea to stay at Hogwarts, Wentworth."

Then, Dumbledore put a candy in his mouth, and without forcing the embarrassed Wentworth, he asked:

"Wentworth, you came to see me, is there something you want?"

Hearing Dumbledore's question, Wentworth quickly adjusted his expression, and then said: "Yes, Headmaster, I received a special gift today, the prophetic skull of our Grindelwald family!"

Having said this, Wentworth paused, and then added, "Thank you, Headmaster Dumbledore!"

After hearing what Wentworth said, Dumbledore was silent for a while, then he looked at Wentworth deeply, and did not ask Wentworth how he guessed that the gift was sent by him, but directly admitted it and responded:

"You're welcome. That item originally belonged to your Grindelwald family. I'm just returning it to its original owner! Besides, your grandfather asked me to give it to you!"

Hearing Dumbledore's words, Wentworth froze in place. In that instant, many things flashed through Wentworth's mind.

However, before Wentworth could figure it out, Dumbledore added, "Wentworth, I have been thinking about whether to give this prophetic skull to you. Although you have demonstrated an unparalleled gift for prophecy, I hope you can understand that the past, present, and future are completely different."

After hearing what Dumbledore said, Wentworth thought for a moment and nodded heavily to show that he had learned his lesson.

Seeing Wentworth's reaction, Dumbledore nodded with satisfaction, a trace of memory emerged on his face, and he said, "I have seen too many wizards who, because they accidentally heard a prophecy about their future, tried desperately to prevent it from happening. Little did they know that hearing the prophecy was the bait prepared by fate for them, and they bit it without thinking."

Hearing this, Wentworth asked thoughtfully:

"Tom Riddle?"

Dumbledore looked at Wentworth, nodded, then shook his head, and said, "More than that."

Then, the room fell silent for a moment.

After a long time, Wentworth put the matter of the prophetic skull aside. The prophetic skull, in the hands of other people, might be an irreplaceable treasure, but in the hands of Wentworth, it was actually a bit useless.

After all, as a time traveler, even without the prophetic skull in his hand, Wentworth still knows everything about the major events that will happen in the future, unless the timeline undergoes an irreversible and drastic change.

Then Wentworth took out the anonymous letter from his arms and placed it gently on the desk in front of Dumbledore.

Seeing Wentworth's action, Dumbledore picked up the letter in front of him with some curiosity. Although it was a short letter, Dumbledore read it over and over for a long time.

Finally, when Dumbledore put the letter back on the table, he said at the same time: "It is indeed the same person who left the note in Gringotts. Wentworth, what do you think?"

Wentworth said without hesitation:

"Principal Dumbledore, I think there may be something wrong here, or even dangerous."

Hearing Wentworth's words, Dumbledore nodded slightly and responded, "Wentworth, it's good that you didn't blindly follow the instructions in the letter! This letter does have some strange things. After all, since the other party chose to leave a message in your vault at the beginning, it means that the other party does not want to meet you directly."

"But now, the other party has rashly proposed to meet with you, and the place chosen is Hogsmeade Village!"

At this point, Dumbledore paused, then said with a smile on his face: "Wentworth, you should know that Hogsmeade is too close to Hogwarts, so many wizards with special identities will not go near Hogsmeade!"

After hearing what Dumbledore said, Wentworth knew that Dumbledore was talking about none other than the Wiccan Party.

Dumbledore then went on to say:

"And the time they chose happened to be the Christmas holiday. At this time, not only would Hogwarts students go home to celebrate Christmas, but most of the professors would also return to their respective homes to celebrate Christmas. It can be said that at this time, Hogwarts' defenses were at their weakest!"

At this point, Dumbledore looked into Wentworth's eyes and said meaningfully: "The time and place chosen by the other party are very meaningful!"
