Chapter 27 Snape's Office

After dinner, Wentworth came to Snape's office alone. This time, even Cedric stayed away from the place and did not follow him.

After knocking on the door, the door of Snape's office was opened from the inside, revealing Snape's eternally cold face.

"Are you messing with your damn hot pot again? You're here so late!"

Then, without waiting for Wentworth to explain, Snape turned and walked back to his office.

Wentworth shrugged and followed Snape in.

Perhaps because it was underground, Snape's office was extremely dark. There were many large glass jars on the shelves along the wall, with all kinds of disgusting things floating in the jars.

Snape pointed to a table next to him, and Wentworth very tactfully walked over and sat down obediently.

Then, Snape took out a cloth bag from the other side and threw it to Wentworth.

When Wentworth opened it, he saw that the bag was filled with many bean-like plants.

"I hope you won't tell me that you don't know what these are, but judging by your performance in class today, you should recognize these."

Wentworth nodded and replied:

"Of course, Professor Snape, these are Twisters, they can be used to ..."

But before Wentworth could finish his words, he was interrupted by Snape.

"You don't need to tell me what they can do! When I was using them to make potions, you hadn't come into this world yet!"

"Your task tonight is to extract at least 10 grams of their juice. I hope you won't be like the idiot before, who used up a whole bag of Twister Beans and still couldn't extract any! Do you know how to extract it?"

Wentworth nodded. When Cedric was tutoring him last night, he had mentioned the twisted beans. They should be chopped up bit by bit with a small silver knife. Juice would flow out with each cut. The juice could speed up the reaction of many potions.

Seeing Wentworth nod, Snape said nothing more. He threw a sterling silver knife to Wentworth and went about his own business.

Wentworth held the knife and looked at the beans on the table. He thought to himself that it was a good thing that Snape didn't let him make the potion directly today. Otherwise, he who knew nothing would not be able to return to the dormitory before curfew.

But soon, Wentworth realized that Snape had promised to teach him how to make potions with a crucible, but now it seemed that he was treating him like a laborer! He just made a hot pot with a crucible, so why was he so angry! Even if he was angry, two days had passed, and he was still angry? No wonder Lily chose Potter in the end, a man who was so ungenerous! Wentworth kept slandering in his heart.

As soon as he started, Wentworth found that he had underestimated this job before and the name of the twisting bean was indeed not wrong.

I saw the beans in front of me, with smooth and hard surfaces. I cut them with a knife, and the beans were fine, but they moved to the side. However, my fingers were almost lost.

Wentworth took great pains to process a bean and obtained a few drops of juice, but the goal of 10 grams was still a long way off.

"Mr. Wentworth, are you going to stay in my office tonight?"

"I'm going to headmaster Dumbledore. I hope you can make 1 gram of Twister bean juice by the time I come back. Also, use your brain which is not much better than a troll's!"

After Snape finished speaking, he turned and walked out of his office. Wentworth was the only one left in the dim office.

Seeing Snape leave, Wentworth breathed a sigh of relief. It must be said that Snape's pressure was too strong. Even though Wentworth knew Snape's character, he still felt extremely depressed.

Then, Wentworth opened the old textbook with the title of Half-Blood Prince written on the front page, and soon found a note next to a potion recipe that required Twisty Beans.

The notes read:

It is extremely difficult to extract the juice from the twist beans, but you can choose to use the blade to forcefully press the twist beans, so that each twist bean can get more than twice as much juice. Because the twist beans are very hard, you need to cast a strength-enhancing spell on your arms in advance. The spell is as follows...

After reading the notes, Wentworth felt that perhaps Dumbledore rejected Snape's request and did not let Snape become the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts, but insisted on making him the professor of Potions, just because Snape was truly a rare potion genius.

Looking at the densely packed notes on the book, which were occasionally mixed with some spells invented by Snape himself, Wentworth's anger at being arranged by Snape to do hard labor here gradually disappeared.

Forget it, just consider it as tuition fee. After all, the content of this book can be called a priceless treasure.

Through the methods and spells recorded in the book, Wentworth's work speed was greatly accelerated by who knows how many times. Soon, Wentworth had collected 10 grams of twister bean juice, and the bag of twister beans that Snape gave him still had half of it left.

Seeing that the work was completed, Wentworth could not help but wander around Snape's office. Looking at the cabinet full of glass jars and the disgusting things in the jars, Wentworth felt that if anyone worked in this office, their mental health would probably not be very healthy.

"Wentworth, have you given up completely? If so, I can understand why you use a crucible to cook, because you are destined to be unworthy of brewing a potion!"

Suddenly, Snape's voice sounded behind Wentworth, which scared Wentworth. Wentworth turned around and saw Snape standing at the door of the office, looking at him with anger.

"Professor Snape, please listen to my explanation!"

But before Wentworth could open his mouth to explain, Snape said impatiently: "Don't say it, students like you are not welcome here! Get out!"

Seeing this, Wentworth simply shut his mouth, walked back to the table, took out the tube of bean juice he had extracted, and shook it in front of Snape's eyes.

For a moment, Snape's office suddenly became quiet and the atmosphere was a little awkward, but it was not Wentworth who was embarrassed. If he hadn't had to pay attention to his image at this moment, Wentworth would have wanted to whistle.

"Why, do you think you're so great? With such a big bag of beans, anyone can extract so much juice. You're just a pretty good speed!"

After a long while, Snape pretended to be indifferent and spoke.
