Chapter 311 Luna's Speculation

After listening to Luna's explanation, Hermione thought for a moment, and had to admit in her heart that maybe Luna was right.

Then, Hermione said with some doubt:

"You called Ron and me alone, not just to tell us about this, right?"

Luna nodded, and then began to explain:

"Yes, I called you because of the attack on Cassandra. Unlike the previous attack on Colin Creevey, this time, Cassandra was attacked as a Slytherin student. Someone must have instructed the monster in the Chamber of Secrets to do it. Therefore, I think the person with the greatest suspicion is one of the first people to appear at the scene."

Hearing Luna's words, Hermione said subconsciously: "You mean, the Gryffindor who first discovered Cassandra..."

Before Hermione could finish her words, she was interrupted by Luna, who shook her head and said, "It's not her. Although she was the first to discover Cassandra, she is the least suspicious because if she hadn't screamed out loudly at the time, she could have easily dealt with the petrified Cassandra."

Hearing Luna's words, Hermione nodded thoughtfully at first, then seemed to have figured something out, looked at Luna with horror, then pointed at herself and said, "So, you are doubting me?"

Luna's eyes swept over Hermione and Ron in turn, and she said slowly:

"It's not you. I listened to what Ginny told me and I know that you left in a hurry. There is no reason for you to suddenly attack Cassandra! It can't be that you suddenly wanted to attack Cassandra, so you left Ginny in a hurry, right?"

When Luna finished speaking, Hermione first breathed a sigh of relief, and then, like Luna, she turned her gaze to Ron.

Seeing this, Ron hurriedly explained in a panic: "Don't look at me! I didn't do this! I was going to find Cassandra. You can also ask Ginny about this!"

After hearing what Ron said, Hermione was about to feel relieved, but she heard Luna on the other side say: "I know, Ginny mentioned it to me."

Hearing Luna say this, Hermione quickly said:

"In that case, then we are all clear of suspicion! However, there are so many Hogwarts students who arrived after us that it is difficult for us to distinguish them!"

But Luna shook her head, her eyes still on Ron, and asked Hermione, "Hermione, how long after you left Ginny did Ron find you?"

Hearing Luna's question, Hermione carefully recalled the time from leaving Ginny, to following the Queen of Hearts of the Secret Party, to the conversation with the Queen of Hearts, and from the time when the Queen of Hearts left to when Ron found her, and tentatively said:

"I think it will take about thirty minutes!"

Hearing Hermione's words, Luna nodded, looked at Ron with sparkling eyes, and said, "Then, aren't you curious about how Ron was able to find your location accurately in such a remote place in such a huge Hogwarts after you left for such a long time?"

Hearing Luna's words, Hermione was speechless, but still said stubbornly: "You can't say that Ron is the heir of Salazar Slytherin just because of this suspicion, right?"

Ron on the side also quickly said: "That's right, I am from the Weasley family, and I have nothing to do with Salazar Slytherin. How can I be the heir of Salazar Slytherin!"

Luna said nonchalantly:

"I can't figure this out either, but it doesn't matter. I think... Dumbledore will definitely find a way to figure it out!"

Ron fell silent when he heard Dumbledore's name.

"It's actually very simple to find out whether you instructed the monster in the Chamber of Secrets to attack Cassandra. All we need to do is take you to the headmaster's office and hand you over to Dumbledore. Whether it's Legilimency or Veritaserum, I think Dumbledore has countless ways to find out the truth of the matter."

"Although it is difficult to screen all the students in the school, if we only want to screen one student, I think it would be a very simple thing for Dumbledore."

After hearing what Luna said, Hermione at the side finally understood that Luna had been doubting Ron from the beginning. This made Hermione a little dissatisfied and said: "Enough! Luna, if it is just based on your guess, please don't doubt my friend!"

Luna said as a matter of course: "As long as Ron and I go to see Dumbledore together, if Headmaster Dumbledore proves that Ron is innocent, then I will apologize to him!"

Seeing Luna's insistence, Hermione couldn't help but say angrily:

"Okay, let's go! When the time comes, I want you to apologize to Ron in front of all the teachers and students in the school! Ron, I will go with you to see Dumbledore!"

As Hermione spoke, she pulled Ron's hand and walked towards the headmaster's office of Hogwarts, but Hermione was unable to pull Ron.

Seeing that Ron was still standing there in silence, Luna did not show any joy on her face. Instead, she said with a worried look: "Sure enough!"

Hermione looked at Ron with disbelief and even a little horror, muttering:

"No, Ron, please don't joke with me like that, okay? It's not funny at all! Let's go see Dumbledore together, he will prove..."

However, before Hermione could finish her words, Ron looked at Luna opposite with a gloomy face and said:

"How on earth did you find out?"

Luna did not try to hide it and said directly, "In fact, I first noticed something was wrong with you when Cassandra was attacked. I was one of the first students to arrive at the scene besides you. After all, I listened to Ginny and came out to look for you."

"I discovered at that time that anyone who arrived at the scene, no matter how terrified they were, would subconsciously take a look at Cassandra lying on the ground. Only you, Ron Weasley, did not take a look from beginning to end, as if you knew everything about the situation over there!"

"I felt a little confused at the time. As for the reason I told you just now, it was my inference. When I inferred this conclusion, my suspicion of you deepened, and that's why I stopped you here."

After hearing Luna's words, although Hermione's heart had sunk to the bottom at this moment, she still defended Ron: "But you don't have any evidence, right!"

Luna shook her head, looked at Ron and said:

"That's right, I have no evidence, everything I just said is just speculation."

"But this is Hogwarts. I don't need any evidence. I just need to tell Headmaster Dumbledore about these speculations. He will naturally find a way to verify them."

"Ron Weasley, I don't know, is my guess right?"
