In Chapter 4, the players formed a temporary team.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Captain, we dropped the anchor a little too close!"

A head popped out of the ship and apologized to the stunned captain and officers below.

Yasopp twitched his lips. He found it hard to believe that a slender girl who looked like she had never done any heavy work could row such a broken bamboo raft to the new world.

After thinking about it, he figured it was probably just a fantasy the little girl had developed after being traumatized.

His son Usopp was about the same age as the little girl in front of him. Yasopp hadn't seen Usopp for a long time since he became a pirate at Shanks' invitation. Looking at Violet, who was "so frightened that she went insane", he couldn't help but lower his voice again.

"Do you still remember your name and where your home is?"

When a man in front of you asks you a question, you tell him your name is [__ __].

Oh, here it is, the naming process that every game must have!

Violet wrote "Silly netizens" on the line.

"I'm a silly netizen."

Yasopp: "No, nobody would have that name."

[This name does not meet the game's requirements.]

Violet: ?

Vera: "Kneel down and call me daddy, I'll call you kneel down and call me daddy."

Yasopp: "No, nobody would have that name."

Violet: "I wish this trash game company would go bankrupt soon! I wish this trash game company would go bankrupt soon!"

Yasopp: "No, nobody would have that name."

Similar conversations were repeated several times, and finally, in a fit of pique, Violet simply used her own name.

Violet: "Villet, my name is Violet."

This time, the android in front of me finally showed a different reaction.

A tall man with dreadlocks pointed behind him: "Vell, I am Yasopp."

"We are the Red-Haired Pirates. Don't be afraid. Would you like something to eat?"

Has this entered a side quest storyline? But Violet doesn't want to do the quest so soon; she hasn't even looted all the resources on this island yet!

Violet tried to leave the side quest hanging until she had collected all the supplies, but every time she tried to turn away, Yasopp would grab her collar and pull her back with a helpless look on his face.

"Don't wander off, Violet, this island is dangerous."

Well, it seems this game is the type where once you accept a quest, you're forced to complete the entire process. Realizing this, Val gave up and followed Yasopp, who led her to Shanks.

"It should be the little girl who died, named Vera. She probably suffered too much trauma and became mentally unstable."

Recalling his conversation with Vera, Yasopp looked helplessly at the ship's doctor, Hongo: "Hongo, could you check her for any injuries?"

Violet: "No need, my health is full."

Violet: "Hurry up and issue me a mission, I need to collect supplies."

Hongo, who hadn't understood what Vera was saying, touched her forehead with the back of his hand and then glanced at her skin outside her clothes. She wasn't injured at all, and she didn't even have the disheveled appearance that a person in distress should have.

However, Yasopp is right; he does seem to have some mental issues.

Honjō: "There are no external head injuries."

Shanks: "Ah, then let's take her with us and put her in another town when we leave."

The furious Gabu, with his dark red hair, patted his pocket, pulled out a fairly fresh apple, and handed it to Violet. His eyes held a gentleness that was completely at odds with his fierce appearance: "Here, have some to fill your stomach."

You received 1 apple.

[Description: Fresh apples, rich in Vitamin C, are an excellent dietary remedy for scurvy.]

Violet happily accepted the supplies from the NPC. Holding the apple in both hands, she earnestly asked Gabu in front of her, "What kind of quest are you going to give me?"

Gabu scratched his head: "Uh..."

Just then, Violet spotted the Red-Haired Pirates starting a campfire on the beach as they disembarked. Before anyone could react, Violet dashed towards the fire, startling the crew members who were adding fuel.

Violet took a pink jellyfish out of her pocket and handed it to the campfire.

[You cooked 1 dead jellyfish, and you obtained 1 roasted jellyfish ring]

[You cooked 3 kelp leaves, and you obtained 3 cooked kelp leaves]

You cooked 2 red mushrooms and obtained 2 roasted red mushrooms.

...

Apart from the [unknown seeds] that can be planted later, Violet used the free campfire provided by NPCs to cook all the culinary food in her pocket.

"Hey." Yasopp stepped forward, grabbed Vera's shoulder, and pulled her away from the campfire. "What are you doing?"

Yasopp's gaze shifted downwards to the pockets of Vera's skirt. Could they hold that many things?

Violet: "I'm cooking food." She said, putting a roasted red mushroom into her mouth.

[You consumed a roasted red mushroom. Health +1, Sanity -10]

What? This is actually a poisonous mushroom?

Violet felt the world shake for a moment.

"Wait, what did you eat?" Noticing the momentary loss of focus in Vera's eyes, Yasopp's expression changed and he quickly pulled her in front of Hongo.

"Hongo, quickly take a look at her, it seems she ate a poisonous mushroom!"

Just as Hongo was about to induce vomiting in Vera, Vera pulled a bouquet of flowers from her pocket.

[You created a wreath, consuming 12 petals]

[Description: A beautiful head ornament made of flowers, with a rich floral fragrance. Wearing it will slowly increase your sanity.]

Violet: "Luckily, my sanity didn't drop too much. It seems that even roasted mushrooms can't be eaten casually."

Yasopp: "Isn't this common sense?!" That mushroom was almost as red as the red-haired captain's hair, it was practically writing "I'm poisonous" on its forehead, and this girl dared to eat it directly!

Shanks scratched his cheek: "Well, anyway, Val, you can sit here for a while. The crew should be able to prepare dinner soon."

Vera: "Where are you going?"

Shanks: "Let's go for a walk on the island."

Shanks and his group ventured deeper into the island with a mix of excitement and anticipation. Just as the New World pirates had recently mentioned, the island's natural conditions had changed dramatically. At least, when Shanks and his crew last visited the island, they had never seen so many strange plants.

Yasopp hesitated before speaking, "Boss..."

Shanks rubbed his temples, feeling a bit of a headache, and turned to look at Violet, who had been following behind them.

"Vell, what are you doing?"

Violet: "I'm waiting for you to give me a task."

After entering the side quest mode, Violet discovers that she is blocked by an invisible wall whenever she moves a certain distance away from them.

She was getting impatient: "Hurry up and issue me the task!"

"Tsk." Beckman patted his pocket, but seeing Violet, he gave up on lighting his cigarette. "Yasbu!"

"Hey, don't treat me like a babysitter." Although Yasopp complained, he still walked up to Violet. "You can come along, but don't run around."

With the Red-Haired Pirates' strength, what danger could they possibly face by taking along a curious little girl?

Vera asked curiously, "What are you looking for?"

Hongo: "A kind of herb that grows in swamps. Violet, have you ever seen a swamp on this island?"

[You've accepted a side quest: Explore the island with the Red-Haired Pirates and gather the supplies they need!]

Violet: "You finally gave me a mission. The swamp, right? I know where it is."

Violet led them to the swampy area she had visited before.

Beckman stood at the edge of the swamp, looking at the dark green, damp ground beneath his feet: "Even here has changed a lot."

Scattered throughout the dark green swamp were light blue ponds. The one-eyed mudskipper's eyeballs emerged from the mud, blinking as it stared at the uninvited guests before it.

Shanks picked up a pebble and threw it into the swamp at a green, viscous substance that looked like melting slime. The viscous liquid swelled up immediately upon impact, then quickly burst open, splashing out a corrosive, highly toxic liquid in all directions.

Hongo: "I don't see that herb at all... Violet, what are you doing?!"

Violet rushed excitedly to the clump of slime that had stabilized after releasing a wave of toxic liquid, pulled a shovel from her pocket, and scooped it up.

[You obtained 1 tree branch and 1 piece of rotten food]

Beckman: "So that slime can devour things around it. Could there be herbs in there?"

Hongo: "That's possible. They probably appeared after the earthquake. If you think about it, the medicinal properties of the herbs haven't dissipated yet."

Shanks: "Hey, you guys don't expect me to smear herbs dug out of that disgusting snot-like stuff all over myself, do you?!"

The red-haired leader's protest was ignored by everyone; after all, it was Shanks who was disgusted, but they were the ones who gained olfactory relief.

Thus, the decision was passed happily with an overwhelming majority.

Yasopp took out his flintlock pistol and fired it at the slime, which exploded upon impact.

Beckman walked up to Vieille: "Can I borrow your shovel, Vieille?"

The NPCs were more efficient than Violet. Beckman and Yasopp worked together and quickly dug up all the poisonous slime in the swamp. Violet noticed that they seemed only interested in the [unknown herbs] they dug up, so she happily followed behind them, picking up trash.

After seeing Violet stuff another large piece of wood into her pocket, Yasopp couldn't help but ask, "Are you a Devil Fruit user?"

Violet: "What? I'm a scientist... Is a Devil Fruit user a new character? I haven't seen them on the character panel. Do I have to pay to unlock them?"

Yasopp: "...Never mind." Why should he chat with a little girl who's not quite right in the head?

"roar!!"

Just then, the monkey Munster, which had been perched on Benk Bingge's shoulder, let out a wary roar in a certain direction.

A clattering sound came from the depths of the swamp, and a hairy, jet-black spider, about half a person's height and with sharp teeth, ran towards the group.

"Ha!" it roared at them.

Yasopp bent down and picked up Vera, then raised an eyebrow with interest and stepped forward to poke the spider with his gun.

"Ha!" it roared again, but each attack was easily deflected by Yasopp with the barrel of his gun.

"Hahaha, this is interesting. Boss, haven't you always wanted a pet that can fight? What do you think of this..." Before he could finish speaking, Yasopp suddenly felt a sharp pain in his brain, and the scenery in front of him distorted.

After accepting the quest, Violet, who was automatically paired with them, quickly checked his status and found that because he was too close to the spider with monster attributes, Yasopp's sanity was rapidly decreasing at a rate of 25 points per second.

Yasopp: "I feel a little dizzy?"

Violet was terrified and quickly put the wreath on his head while jumping out of his arms.

[You crafted a rope, consuming 3 pieces of cut grass]

[You crafted a spear, consuming 2 tree branches, 1 rope, and 1 flint]

Violet pointed her spear at the spider: "Go! Go!"

[You attacked the spider (monster), spider HP -30]

[You have attracted the aggro of the entire spider (monster)]

The roars of monsters echoed from the depths of the swamp, and dozens of spiders swarmed toward Vil, including several yellowish-green, more ferocious-looking species.

[You have been targeted by a spider (monster)!]

[You have been targeted by the Spider Warrior (monster)!]

Unlike the black spiders that can only launch normal attacks, the yellow-green spiders move much faster and can even jump to shorten the distance between them and Violet and the others.

With only a stone spear that could barely withstand the onslaught of spiders, Violet was clearly struggling to hold her own against the swarm of spiders.

Who knew this thing would generate group hatred?!

With the flower wreath placed on his head by Violet, Yasopp, whose sanity was decreasing at a significantly slower rate, also recovered from the dizziness. He grabbed Violet, jumped two steps to create distance between himself and the group of spiders, and took out his flintlock pistol, aiming at the spider warrior at the front and firing a shot!

With a bang, the spider warrior who had jumped into the air was shot down.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Without the sanity-draining debuff, Yasopp easily dealt with the dozen or so spiders.

"Pfft, hahaha, what's wrong with Yasopp? You actually need a little girl to save you."

"That's terrible, Yasopp!"

The other members of the Red-Haired Pirates, who had refrained from making a move due to their trust in their comrades' strength, now loudly mocked Yasopp.

Beckman, the team's strategist, frowned: "What's going on, Yasopp?"

Given Yasopp's abilities, he shouldn't have made such an obvious mistake.

Yasopp put down Vera, who was struggling like a fish in his arms, and raised his hand to touch his forehead.

"I felt like I was attacked by something back then. My consciousness suddenly became blurred, and my vision became distorted." Yasopp recalled the feeling with the same confusion. "It was very strange."

"Conqueror's Haki?"

"Not really."

Beckman's gaze shifted upwards, landing on the wreath atop Yasopp's head that clashed with his artistic style. Noticing Beckman's gaze, Yasopp remembered the wreath Violet had placed on his head and quickly raised his hand to remove it.

“Wait,” Beckman stopped the yasha cloth. “Wear it first.”

"Hey!" Yasopp complained. Who wants to wear such a wreath? Didn't they see that Lu and the others couldn't help but laugh?

“Your recovery from that state might be related to that wreath.” Beckman recalled the scene just now; it was indeed the little girl named Violet who put the wreath on Jesus’ head, and he quickly came back to his senses.

Beckman turned his head and looked at Val, who was squatting on either side of the spider corpse with Shanks, poking at the spider corpse with a twig. He pursed his lips.

"Something's not quite right with that girl."

Although his Observation Haki had told him several times that the little girl was indeed an ordinary person without any trace of combat training, Beckman felt a strong sense of incongruity, both because she appeared alone on the deserted island and because of her calm demeanor when facing the terrifying monsters in the swamp.

He glanced at Vera, who was huddled close to the idiot captain, whispering about whether spider meat was edible, and sighed.

Well, although that little girl seemed a bit eerie, Beckman didn't sense any malice from her.

"Hey, Val, Shanks, you two, stop touching those weird things with your hands!"
