Chapter 130. The player commented, "Living too long is truly..."

Yamato nervously huddled in the corner, holding his breath as he watched the noisy pirates in the distance.

Yamato gripped the cold, hard sea stone handcuffs on his wrists tightly in his palms to avoid making any noise that might attract the attention of the pirates.

She had a rather rare gradient of white hair on top and blue hair on the bottom, with uneven ends that looked like they had been chewed by a dog. The messy hair was piled on top of her head, and combined with her face covered in dust, she looked like a little beggar who had run away from somewhere.

But her eyes were unusually bright and determined. Even though she hadn't eaten or drunk anything for three days because of her escape, she remained calm and hid in the shadows behind the pillar, waiting for the right moment to escape.

Although he is Kaido's "son," Yamato, who has been under Kaido's house arrest for many years, is not familiar with the terrain of Onigashima. The pirates who may appear anywhere add a lot of uncertainty and risk to this escape route.

Although Yamato, who inherited her father Kaido's physique and fighting talent, was confident that she could still defeat the pirates after being starved for so many days, the commotion she caused in the process was enough to make that bastard father send people to capture her.

In the entire Beasts Pirates, Yamato's greatest fear is not Kaido, but King.

After all, if her bastard father dragged her back, he would at most beat her with a spiked club. Although it would hurt, it wouldn't be unacceptable for Yamato, whose tolerance and recovery abilities were extraordinary.

But Jin, while he wouldn't hit her, would "torture" her in various ways, including but not limited to throwing her into a group of pirates who seemed to haven't bathed in a hundred years and having her fight them hand-to-hand, pinning her down in a room and having that woman, who would die if she raised her voice even slightly, teach her flower arranging, and dragging her to her bastard father's room to watch him cry and transform into a dragon and fly around after getting drunk...

Thanks to these psychological attacks, the pitch-black Jin is an indelible shadow and nightmare in Yamato's heart.

She absolutely mustn't be discovered. Once those guys are drunk, she'll leave here, find a way to get a boat by robbery or theft, and then escape Ghost Island!

Thinking of this, Yamato's heart surged with excitement, but just as he excitedly clenched his fist, the cold sea stone handcuffs warmed in his palm once again drew his attention back to Yamato.

She looked down at the handcuffs.

As a Devil Fruit user, close contact with Seastone would not only prevent her from using her Devil Fruit powers, but would also cause her to lose most of her strength and stamina.

But the real reason these sea stone handcuffs trapped her was the explosives buried inside.

According to that bastard, once she leaves Wano Country, the explosives inside the seastone handcuffs will instantly explode and tear her to pieces.

Although she remembered the threat clearly, Yamato, having finally found an opportunity to escape, still chose to act. On one hand, Yamato hoped that after arriving in Wano Country, she could find one of the Nine Red Scabbards and have them help her cut off the handcuffs; on the other hand…

Yamato suspected that her father was just trying to scare her by talking about explosives.

No matter how bad their relationship is, Yamato is Kaido's only child, and Kaido is a father whose strength makes Yamato truly respect him.

Just like how Yamato and Kaido's fight was nothing more than adding a large dose of laxatives to their father's wine barrel instead of grinding up a Devil Fruit, Kaido's beating of Yamato was at most a full-force swing without using Thunder Bagua...

Although the unusual father-son or father-daughter relationship seemed a bit strange to outsiders, Yamato felt that her bastard father still had some feelings for her and shouldn't have done something as terrible as blowing her up.

Just as Yamato was using his mind to fight off exhaustion and hunger so he wouldn't pass out, Violet, guided by the bees, also found this floor.

Watching the pirates drinking and playing drinking games, and recalling the image of a pirate who, even when pushed down, seemed to want to scream "I'm just an ordinary drinking barrel," Violet thought for a moment, took out a few gold coins from her pocket, and rolled in the direction of the pirates playing drinking games.

The sound of a coin rolling on the ground was completely drowned out by the noise of the pirates, but the beautiful, alluring gold reflection could not possibly escape their eyes.

The moment it appeared, the pirates who had been focused on the drinks all looked up and stared at the gold coin with surprised and greedy eyes.

"That's mine!"

"Nonsense, I clearly discovered it first!"

"Why are there gold coins here... Oh my god, there's another one over there!"

Who could resist shiny gold coins? These pirates certainly couldn't. They didn't understand why gold coins were here, but... this was the Beasts Pirates, the crew of pirates who'd seen a drunken dragon flying through the sky. Finding a few unclaimed gold coins here wasn't unusual, was it?

Several large hands reached for the gold coin at the same time, but instead of grabbing it, the pirates' hands clasped together.

Pirate: ...

They looked up at each other and saw expressions of disgust written all over each other's faces.

"You bastard, let go!"

"You think I wanted to touch you? You should have let go first, you bastard!"

Do you want to fight?

"Fine, let's fight then. Who's afraid of who? I've been wanting to get back at you for a long time."

Hiding in the shadows, Yamato stared in disbelief at the group of "good brothers" who had been arm in arm just a moment ago, now grabbing each other by the collar and arguing noisily, preparing to go outside for a life-or-death battle.

Tap, tap...

As the footsteps drew closer, Yamato flinched and quickly hid behind a pillar.

The sound has disappeared. There shouldn't be anyone outside now, right? Now's a good time to escape. I'll observe for a bit longer and then dash out in one go!

Yamato took a deep breath and turned around abruptly, only to be met with a pair of eyes hidden behind non-prescription glasses, eyes that were as black as black holes, revealing no emotion whatsoever.

"I found you..."

The icy tone, the dark eyes, the pale skin, and the eerie way of speaking were practically the embodiment of a psychopathic killer from a horror story. Yamato, who was already exhausted and hungry, suddenly snapped, and his eyes rolled back as he fainted.

Violet: "..."

Vera: "Huh?"

She quickly looked around and breathed a sigh of relief when she confirmed that no one had seen her.

No, why is she so nervous? She didn't even touch the other person. Isn't this blatant staged accident?!

Looking at Yamato who had collapsed on the ground, Vera took a deep breath and resignedly picked her up.

——

Yamato's eyelids twitched, and he slowly awoke from his unconsciousness.

Whether it was because her body was slow to react and her brain hadn't fully woken up, or because the prolonged hunger and exhaustion had finally taken its toll, Yamato felt as if a thousand-pound iron block was pressing down on her, making it difficult even to lift her hand.

"Hey, you're awake?"

A light, cheerful voice rang out, and Yamato struggled to lift his eyelids. He saw the terrifying little girl he had met before he lost consciousness squatting beside him, with another black-haired girl and a reindeer sitting behind her.

Behind them was a roughly carved tombstone in the center of the room, bearing the name "Lox D. Giebeck" and below it, written in chalk in a wild and unrestrained style: "(↑Don't bother me unless it's important, and don't bother me either)".

Yamato: "..."

So she still didn't escape from Ghost Island, and is that bastard dad finally going to kill her with a spiked club and send her to hell?

As soon as Vera walked up to Yamato, noticing that he had opened his eyes, she saw his eyes roll upwards again, and he looked like he was about to faint again.

This scene is absolutely inhuman!

"Hey, hey, hey, no, no, no, don't faint again!"

Violet quickly stuffed two roasted green mushrooms into her mouth.

Although his body was still weak, Yamato, who inherited Kaido's super thick health bar, did not feel the slight blood loss effect of the roasted green mushroom. His hungry stomach occupied his mind, and Yamato subconsciously chewed a couple of times and then swallowed it directly.

After eating the roasted green mushrooms, Yamato felt invigorated and his mind became clearer than ever before.

Glug-glug-glug

Yamato, his face flushed crimson, clutched his stomach: "I, I..."

"Oh right, Chopper said you look like you haven't eaten for days." After bringing Yamato over, Chopper gave her a simple check-up because she had been unconscious, and concluded that her current physical condition was not very good.

Exhausted and hungry, Violet's fright was merely the last straw that broke the camel's back.

However, Yamato had no other injuries, and Chopper thought that Yamato was more asleep than unconscious.

Vera handed a plate of meatballs to Yamato.

The rich aroma of meat made Yamato, who hadn't eaten for days, drool uncontrollably: "Is this for me? Thank you so much!"

She didn't care about her image and started wolfing down the food.

One serving after another, until Yamato, satisfied, covered his bulging belly and burped, then wiped the sauce from his mouth, placed his hands on his knees, and bowed to Violet.

"Thank you so much."

"I never expected you to come and save me. I, Kozuki Oden, will never forget this kindness and will definitely repay you."

Upon hearing Yamato refer to himself as Chopper and Robin, he exclaimed, "Eh?!"

Violet: "Ah, you're Kozuki Oden? Then who's buried in that grave?!"

After realizing that Kozuki Oden was an important part of the Wano Country backstory, Violet even went so far as to find his grave, spray herself with some [Potential Soul Attractant], and stayed by the grave all night, hoping to attract Kozuki Oden's ghost to get a quest or something.

But the result was that nothing attracted to Violet except for a swarm of buzzing mosquitoes.

Violet can still clearly recall the mocking laughter of that bastard Rocks.

...So the reason why Kozuki Oden didn't appear wasn't because he could resist the [powerful soul attractant], but because he wasn't even in the graveyard; he faked his death?

If she had known, she wouldn't have been so foolish as to wait all night. She should have dug up Kozuki Oden's grave first to see if there was anything inside.

For once, Locke mentally gave Violet a thumbs-up: "I agree, do it next time."

Who needs your approval? Violet rolled her eyes at Rocks in her mind. She hadn't forgotten when she asked Rocks if he could use his Ghostly Connections to find Kozuki Oden, only to be met with "Who? I've never even heard of him."

Of course, Violet retorted by calling him "old man from the past," which angered Rocks so much that he wrote "Don't bother me unless it's important" on his tombstone that very day and then started throwing a tantrum and disappearing.

Ignoring Rocks, who was stirring up trouble in her mind, Violet looked at Yamato in surprise: "So you're not dead. But Kozuki Oden was Kaido's son... That's really amazing."

Yamato's face turned red with embarrassment after being misunderstood by Violet.

"No, I'm not Kaido... No, no, I'm Kaido's son, but Kozuki Oden isn't..."

"You're not Kozuki Oden?"

"Yes, I am Kozuki Oden."

"You're not Kaido's child?"

"...That's right."

"Isn't Kozuki Oden Kaido's son?"

"I, I..."

Yamato was completely bewildered by Violet, and in the end, Robin had to step in and carefully question Yamato about his identity.

"Uh... so you're Kaido's daughter, and because you found Kozuki Oden's diary, you admire him so much that you call yourself Kozuki Oden, and even think of yourself as a boy?"

"That's right!"

Violet: "..."

Oh, this.

"Is it really just a diary, and not some kind of evil cultivation artifact?"

Yamato's symptoms don't seem like worship of Oden, but rather like he's possessed by the Oden demon!

Author's Note: I find the father-daughter relationship between Kaido and Yamato quite interesting to explore in detail. Although it might be Oda retconning, how did Yamato, who was always wearing seastone handcuffs, become so adept at using her Devil Fruit powers once she was freed, and how did she wield the same weapons as Kaido so well?

And then there's Kaido, whose own daughter keeps calling herself his enemy, yet he actually addresses Yamato with a male title, and he hasn't had a second child yet, tsk tsk tsk...

The plot where Yamato becomes obsessed with Kozuki Oden after reading his diary... it's really like a Cthulhu story, isn't it? He saw something he shouldn't have, and from then on, his personality changed drastically, even to the point where he felt like he was someone else entirely.

Xi Shi's nostrils!!!
