Chapter 46 Breakfast
Beijing City
The first rays of sunlight in the morning shone on the glass windows, and the sunlight leaked in through the gaps in the curtains that were not drawn tightly.
Luo Xiao was still sleeping soundly on the bed.
The people in the guest room opposite had already gotten up.
In the originally quiet villa, there was movement in the kitchen on the first floor.
But it was obvious that the person who entered the kitchen was not good at cooking. You could tell from his clumsy movements. Although he was clumsy, he finally succeeded after failing to fry three eggs. Although it didn't look good, at least it wasn't burnt.
Yan Zhiyi decided to make some boiled eggs, which would not easily spill. As for porridge, it seemed quite simple. He called his aunt and learned how to cook it over the phone.
It turns out that the hardest thing is to make fried eggs, and he thought it would be the easiest.
He was busy in the kitchen intently.
After Luo Xiao got up, he didn't take the elevator downstairs, but went straight up the stairs.
The closer he got to the kitchen, the more he smelled the odor. Following the smell, he went to the kitchen.
"Brother Yan, are you cooking?!" Luo Xiao said as he looked at the tall figure wearing an apron that didn't quite suit him.
"Yes, to thank you for taking me in, I volunteered to try making breakfast. But I found it a little difficult when I started. I'm sorry for wasting some of your ingredients." Yan Zhiyi said apologetically.
Luo Xiao followed his words and looked at the trash can next to him.
There was a pitch-black lump lying inside, and it looked as if it couldn't be any blurrier.
"It's okay, it's just ingredients. We can buy more when they're out. But Brother Yan, you've never been to the kitchen, have you? Did you get burned? People who enter the kitchen for the first time can easily get burned, especially by the oil splashing from the pot." Luo Xiao asked with concern, his eyes still examining his straight, slender hands.
"It's okay, I'm not burned." Yan Zhiyi stretched out his long and straight hands for Luo Xiao to see.
After making sure there were no signs of burns on his hands, Luo Xiao breathed a sigh of relief.
He had already troubled the other party to send him home, and since it was getting late, he let him stay overnight. If he got burned just because he wanted to make breakfast for him, he would be too sorry.
"Let me do it. Brother Yan, do you want to eat noodles with scallion oil?" Luo Xiao asked him.
"Noodles with scallion oil? Will it be troublesome?" Yan Zhiyi asked.
"No, the scallion oil is ready. I just boiled a pot before I went back. Apart from the one Cheng Chen took away, there are two bottles left in the refrigerator. If you like it, you can take one back." Luo Xiao said as he opened the refrigerator.
Sure enough, the scallion oil he had cooked was still quietly lying in the refrigerator.
Luo Xiao took out the bottle he had used.
He then took out some unopened noodles from the storage box in the cupboard.
He concentrated on cooking the noodles. Yan Zhiyi watched him seriously the whole time. Luo Xiao thought he was watching how he did it. Occasionally, he would talk to him and tell him what to do.
Soon, a fragrant smell filled the kitchen.
"Xiaoxiao, you are really good at cooking. Not only are you good at making pickles, but you are also great at making other things. They are great and smell so good!" Yan Zhiyi praised him.
"It's not as exaggerated as you say. Bring it out. We're ready to have breakfast." Luo Xiao motioned for him to take it out to the dining table.
Yan Zhiyi nodded.
Breakfast included the scallion oil noodles that Luo Xiao had just made, boiled eggs and fried eggs made by Yan Zhiyi, and a pot of white porridge that obviously didn't have enough water.
Noodles and porridge were a bit strange, but they both scooped a spoonful each.
The rice used to cook the porridge was grown in Luo Xiao's space. The rice had a nice aroma and tasted great. Even though the porridge was very thick, like rice that was cooked very wet, it did not affect its taste too much.
After taking a bite, Yan Zhiyi felt that his cooking skills were pretty good.
After he took a bite of the fried egg he had made, he was stunned for a second, then swallowed the fried egg calmly.
"Xiaoxiao, the eggs I fried are too salty, don't eat them. Next time I'll learn how to fry eggs and you can eat them." After Yan Zhiyi said that, he took the eggs from Luo Xiao's plate.
"Oh, okay. But Brother Yan, you are really good. You fried the eggs to golden brown on both sides the first time. That's very good." Luo Xiao nodded and praised the other party.
Yan Zhiyi heaved a sigh of relief after hearing his words. It was good that the other party didn't think he was stupid. However, he had to keep up the good work!
"Have this, a boiled egg." Yan Zhiyi put the peeled boiled egg on Luo Xiao's plate.
"Thank you, I can do it myself. Brother Yan, please eat quickly to avoid the noodles from clumping together." Luo Xiao motioned him to eat quickly.
The breakfast ended with the two of them occasionally talking.
Luo Xiao felt that it seemed pretty good. There was someone to talk to and eat breakfast with, and he didn't feel lonely. It seemed not bad.
