Chapter 1200: A Two-Pronged Approach!

The soldier's shoulder went numb from being patted, but he wasn't angry at all; instead, he was overjoyed.

"It's not a dream, it's not a dream! We'll have steamed buns and roast chicken to eat!"

Li Laosi looked at the Marquis, who looked at his smiling adopted daughter, then waved his hand and ordered, "Take them away, distribute them, make sure they're all well-fed and watered, and await orders to launch a counterattack at any time!"

"Yes, Lord Marquis!" All the soldiers quickly responded, swarming forward to lift the baskets and buckets and leave.

Li Laosi remembered that they hadn't eaten yet, and was about to grab some back when his daughter tugged at his sleeve.

"Dad, let's eat too. I brought your favorite pork ribs!"

Jiayin smiled and stepped aside. A felt blanket had appeared beside the campfire, covered with food.

Snow-white rice, various dishes, chicken, fish, meat and eggs, all kinds of delicious food that Li Laosi craved in his dreams!

There were even two cut-open jade melons!

He didn't even have time to be surprised. He rushed forward, grabbed half of the jade melon, and started wielding a spoon.

"Mmm, this is so delicious and so thirst-quenching!"

The Marquis didn't say anything, but he unceremoniously took the other half of the jade melon and began to eat it heartily.

Mu Xu, on the other hand, focused intently on the meat, eating with lightning speed. This made Li Laosi impatient; he threw down the jade melon and rushed to snatch the ribs from his future son-in-law...

After the meal, the blanket was littered with cups and plates, and the men's bellies were round and full, as if they were four or five months pregnant.

Jiayin collected the bowls and plates and took out a pot of plum juice. Everyone held the cold cups and drank it sip by sip. Even the Marquis felt that what the soldier had said was true. This really was like a dream!

Just a moment ago, they were eating the roasted horse meat sparingly and sharing the horse urine with each other.

In the next instant, they suddenly ascended from hell to heaven, so abundant...

Li Laosi didn't have so many thoughts. Hearing that his family had already retreated south, he was a little anxious and said, "Everyone has eaten and drunk their fill. At dawn, while the barbarians are still tired, let's charge down in one fell swoop!"

The Marquis shook his head and retorted, "That's too risky, the casualties would be too great. We need to think of a safer way."

After saying that, he asked Jiayin, "Did you bring any poison or M-drugs? I'll try to get into the barbarians' water source to weaken their fighting power, and our casualties will be much lower."

Jiayin thought for a moment, then took out two small bottles from her purse and said, “Father and Godfather’s ideas are both good. As long as it can reduce our losses, any means are acceptable.”

As she spoke, she handed the small bottle in her hand to Mu Xu.

"Use drugs when necessary, and launch a counterattack when necessary! Use a two-pronged approach!"

Mu Xu looked down at the small bottle in his hand and silently complained.

Why does he get all the dirty and hard work?

Jiayin saw his expression and snorted coldly.

Mu Xu immediately chuckled, "Don't worry, Princess, I'll make sure the mission is accomplished."

Li Laosi and the Marquis watched their children interact and couldn't help but laugh.

Along the way, with no one else around, Jiayin had gotten used to joking and playing around with Mu Xu.

She suddenly remembered that her elders were nearby, and she blushed a little.

She quickly took out two more boxes and said, "I have some secret weapons here. Would you like to take a look, Father and Godfather?"

Both chests were painted black with brass corner protectors. Simply placed there, they resembled wild beasts crouching in the dark, dangerous and mysterious...

As the first light of dawn appears on the horizon, a new day is about to begin.

The mischievous north wind never tires, drifting and wandering everywhere.

When it flew to the top of the lonely mountain, it was really startled.

On such a morning, sleeping in is the most comfortable thing to do, but here everyone is staring wide-eyed, wiping their waist knives and bows and arrows, all looking down the mountain with murderous intent!

These past few days, the vanguard has been terribly bullied by the barbarians. They have the advantage of terrain and have been beaten like turtles in a jar, feeling utterly humiliated.

Fortunately, the moment of revenge has finally arrived!

The Marquis stood ramrod straight, sword in hand, with no trace of the dozen or so wounds, large and small, that were on his body.

Li Laosi excitedly looked down the mountain. After finally seeing Mu Xu and a few personal guards return, he asked, "How did it go? Did it work?"

"Of course!" Mu Xu grinned roguishly. "The timing was perfect. The powder was sprinkled in the water source, and almost half of the barbarians drank it before bed, so it's taking effect now. I only came back after I saw one of them succumb to the poison and the rest of the barbarians were making a fuss!"

Li Laosi patted him hard on the shoulder, laughing and praising, "Good lad, you're ruthless and capable!"

Mu Xu winced in pain but "happily" accepted his future father-in-law's affirmation!

The Marquis turned to look at Jiayin. She had changed into a neat set of clothes, her hair was tied up, and she was dressed like a young man.

When she saw her godfather looking over, Jiayin smiled and made a victory sign!

The Marquis nodded and turned to Mu Xu, "Protect the Princess well, you don't need to worry about the rest."

Having said that, he turned to the countless soldiers behind him who were watching him, and drew his gleaming sword!

"Soldiers! The fate of our nation rests on this moment! The barbarians below the mountain are the last remaining forces of the grasslands. If we can wipe them out, our people of Tianwu can enjoy twenty years of peace, and we can return victorious, holding our heads high to face our parents and loved ones! Charge down and slaughter them all!"

"Charge down and kill them all!" All the soldiers raised their swords and shouted at the top of their lungs.

After eating and drinking to their hearts' content and sleeping for two hours, everyone was full of energy and wished they could grow wings and fly away immediately.

After ten years of fighting, being besieged on a lonely mountain was a disgrace to everyone.

Now, the opportunity to avenge our defeat has arrived!

"Wei Erniu, lead the assault team and set off!"

As soon as the Marquis gave the first order, Wei Erniu immediately led his squad of a dozen men off. They had a dozen or so dark, round balls hanging from their waists and were strangely holding torches in their hands...

Then, a loud rumbling sound suddenly rang out from the foot of the mountain, and the barbarian camp instantly erupted into chaos. The neighing of warhorses and the terrified shouts of the barbarians were all clearly carried by the north wind.

Lord Hou raised his sword high and shouted, "Lightning strikes from the sky, mercilessly cleaving the barbarians, aiding my Heavenly Martial Army to victory in every battle! Kill!"

He spurred his horse and charged forward.

At this moment, the thunder below the mountain became more frequent, rumbling incessantly.

The soldiers were both surprised and delighted, their eyes bloodshot with excitement, and they rushed down like madmen!

The barbarians at the foot of the mountain thought that the vanguard army on the mountain had no water or food and had suffered heavy casualties, so they would not take the initiative to attack and walk into their trap.

But the impossible actually happened!

The brothers sleeping soundly next to them suddenly turned into stiff corpses. Before they could figure out the cause, the camp erupted in chaos.

Countless people were blown to pieces, their heads bleeding profusely, and their warhorses fled in a frenzy.

The vanguard seemed to descend from the sky, reaping their heads one by one!

Has the heavens abandoned them?

"Khan, let's go!"

The old Khan was sleeping soundly when he was suddenly awakened. Before he could ask anything, his guards pulled him onto a horse.
