Chapter 906 The Zhilan Palace Has Changed!

"Good news!" The Third Princess rushed over, lifting her skirt.

Her face was beaming with joy, but she kept complaining, "Why did you take so long! I've been waiting for you for ages. If I catch a cold, it'll all be your fault!"

As she spoke, she took Jiayin's hand and led her into the gate.

Jiayin rolled her eyes and snorted coldly, "If you catch a cold, don't come looking for me, go find those Imperial Guards at the gate!"

"If they hadn't bullied me, I would have come here long ago. Luckily, my godfather brought me here today, otherwise, I'm afraid I would have lost my innocence and could never get married!"

"What happened?" The Third Princess was startled and asked, "How did the Imperial Guards mistreat you? Did they search you?"

“They wouldn’t dare!” Jiayin glared and replied arrogantly, “If they made a move, there would be enough severed arms to fill a basket in front of the palace gates by now. How could my godfather let them get away with this?”

“That’s true,” the Third Princess nodded, looking knowing. “The Marquis treats you like his own daughter, how could he let anyone bully you!”

As they were talking, they entered the main hall.

The two took off their cloaks, and a palace maid brought warm water to help their masters wash their hands.

Two senior palace maids stood in front of the Third Princess, one holding a basin and the other a cloth.

But in front of Jiayin was only a little palace maid, about eight or nine years old, holding a basin of water, trembling as if she was about to splash it on Jiayin at any moment.

Upon seeing this, Granny Hao couldn't help but frown, glanced at the blue-clad head maid at the door, and was about to speak.

Unexpectedly, Jiayin spoke first, asking, "Princess, are you short-staffed in your Zhilan Palace?"

The Third Princess looked over in confusion, and Jiayin pointed at the little palace maid and said, "This little palace maid has no strength in her hands at all, how can she be allowed to enter the palace and be used?"

"If it spills all over me, I'll be so embarrassed."

"We get along well, otherwise, I might think you're deliberately trying to intimidate me!"

The third princess was immediately angered and called for the head palace maid in blue at the door.

"Baoqin, come here! Did you arrange these people? Take them away now!"

"If you dare to make the same mistake again, you'll be sent to work in the laundry department!"

The head palace maid blushed and quickly knelt down to beg for forgiveness. She wanted to explain herself, but the Third Princess was impatient and waved her away.

Shui Ling and Shui Yun took over the task and quickly helped their master wash and dry his hands.

The Third Princess pulled Jiayin into the room and sat her down on the soft couch.

The little fox was very curious about the new place and explored everywhere, wagging its big tail.

The third princess, feeling a strong urge to try it, ordered a palace maid to bring some dried meat to bribe the little fox. Finally, she was satisfied and hugged it, stroking it several times.

But she didn't forget to press, "Jiayin, tell me quickly, how exactly did the Imperial Guards bully you? I want to get revenge for you!"

Granny Hao was serving tea and snacks when she heard this and wished she could cover her mistress's mouth.

Those are the Imperial Guards guarding the gate; there are too many things involved. How can the princess take on so much responsibility?

Unfortunately, the third princess didn't notice her expression at all.

Jiayin peeled an orange and shared it with the Third Princess, then nodded to Shuiling.

Shui Ling was quick-witted and eloquent, rattling off the whole story in no time.

The Third Princess was furious when she heard this, "These dog servants, who gave them the guts!"

Jiayin glanced at her and snorted, "That's why I really don't want to go to the palace."

"It's bad enough that you gave me a hard time at the palace gate, but now that I'm on your turf, I'm being slandered by a palace maid. Who knows how many more people will come out to bully me in the future!"

The Third Princess was very embarrassed and said, "I didn't know Baoqin would dare to be so rude! Here's what I'll do: I'll send Baoqin away and not let her serve in my palace anymore."

Jiayin nodded directly, "It's good to send her away! She's your head maid, and whatever she does, others will think you're the one who ordered her to do it."

"If she makes such decisions on her own and causes even bigger trouble in the future, you'll be held responsible."

The Third Princess agreed wholeheartedly and immediately instructed Granny Hao, "Granny, go and handle this matter. Also, give a thorough reprimand to everyone in our palace. Anyone who, like Baoqin, doesn't know the rules, should be expelled."

Granny Hao felt so choked up that she wanted to grab her master and shake him violently.

Even if Baoqin looked down on Princess Kangle because of past events and resorted to petty tricks, she was indeed wrong.

But she was one of the head palace maids of Zhilan Palace!

She was kicked out just because of a few words from Princess Kang Le?!

In this Zhilan Palace, who is truly the master?!

Jiayin knew, of course, that Granny Hao was unhappy, but she had no intention of changing her mind.

She entered the palace nominally as a princess's companion, and would be living in Zhilan Palace, which would be her strong rear base!

It's rare that the princess doesn't seem to have any hostility towards her now, and even listens to her every word. Of course, she should take this opportunity to suppress the servants of Zhilan Palace.

Otherwise, with the Empress Dowager eyeing her from the front and the servants of Zhilan Palace sabotaging her from behind, how could she protect herself?

Just then, the suitcases were finally delivered from the palace gates.

Jiayin said, "Princess, I'll leave Shuiyun to pack our luggage. Let's go pay our respects to our royal uncle!"

"Shuiyun is also a great cook. Let her show off her skills at lunchtime, and we can have dinner when we get back."

"Great!" The Third Princess nodded repeatedly, then complained, "The Imperial Kitchen's cooking is quite good, but after eating it for over ten years, I'm tired of it."

"You even brought a chef, that's wonderful! I'm going to be so lucky to have such delicious food from now on!"

After saying that, she instructed Granny Hao, "Take Shuiyun and her luggage to the side hall to settle them in. If you need anything, just go to my storeroom to get it."

"Yes, Princess." Granny Hao was too exhausted to complain anymore and answered softly.

Jiayin called out to Shuiling, picked up a basket of fruit brought from home, and together with the Third Princess, put on cloaks and headed towards the Imperial Study.

The third princess glanced at the fruit basket and protested, "On the fifth day of the month, I sent someone to ask you for bananas, and you said you didn't have any, so why is there such a big bunch in this basket?"

Jiayin shrugged and said, "This is the only string of them left at home. I promised to save it for Baozhu. When you sent someone over, of course I told them we didn't have any more."

“But Baozhu had something to do and had to go out temporarily, so I brought this string of beads with me.”

"I am a princess, how could you reject me for that little girl from the Jia family?" The Third Princess stamped her foot, pretending to be angry.

Jiayin wasn't afraid of her; it was only natural for her to accept it.

“Baozhu and I have known each other for so many years. She always shares half of anything good with me. It’s only right that I treat her well!”

"Besides, we only made up two months ago; before that, we were like enemies. If you were in my shoes, wouldn't you be biased too?"

"You...you're incredibly audacious! You're in the palace now, on my turf, and you still dare to talk to me like that?"

"Then hurry up and kick me out! I'll go home with my godfather right away. There's nothing good about this palace of yours; they bully me at every turn. I don't want to live here!"

"Oh, I was just kidding, don't take it seriously! I'm so bored all the time, and you're the only one I have to keep me company, you can't just run away like that!"

The two bickered as they left the house, gradually disappearing around the corner of the palace wall.

Granny Hao escorted her to the door and saw that her master was walking with a joyful gait, clearly extremely happy.

Her feelings were incredibly complicated...

Rumors circulated in the palace that the Empress Dowager disliked Princess Kangle and that she brought Princess Kangle into the palace to "teach" her a lesson.

Everyone was waiting for Princess Kang Le and the Empress Dowager to have their battle of wits.

She couldn't predict who would win or lose, nor did she want to.

All she knew was that Zhilan Palace had changed drastically because of Princess Kangle's arrival...

Served at midnight~~
