Chapter 30: Concubine (Part 7)

That day, Wanyue slept until noon as usual.

After washing her face and putting on her clothes, she sat in front of the bronze mirror and let Xiuhe comb her hair.

"Princess, I heard that Miss Xia was imprisoned by our prince, and the charges against her are not light."

Wanyue leaned her head against the bronze mirror, her eyes showing no anxiety, as if she had not yet woken up.

"Oh? He's locked up?"

Feng Chen did a great job.

"Tell me in detail what happened!"

Xiu He said as she combed her hair, "It is said that Miss Xia deliberately murdered Concubine Mu, causing her to have a miscarriage. The evidence is irrefutable, and it was all presented by our prince himself."

"I didn't expect Miss Xia to be so vicious. Not only did she want to murder Concubine Mu, she even used the princess's hand. The princess was almost framed by her! Fortunately, Concubine Mu believed in the princess."

Wanyue yawned, half-closed her eyes, and casually swept the gold hairpin on the table into the bottom drawer.

It's done without anyone noticing.

When Xiuhe finished combing her hair and came to look for the gold hairpin, she couldn't find it again.

"Hey, I clearly remember putting it here, how come it's gone?"

Xiuhe looked distressed.

Wanyue picked up a white jade hairpin and handed it over, "Take this, don't look for it anymore."

Xiuhe took the white jade hairpin and was obviously not satisfied. "This jade hairpin is so plain, it doesn't suit my status at all..."

Wanyue just smiled, indicating that she didn't want to talk.

The hosta is very good and very beautiful.

It’s Xiuhe, you don’t understand.

"By the way, Princess, Guard Feng has been standing outside for quite a while. I didn't let him in because I saw you weren't awake."

Wanyue stood up, moved a seat, and walked to the table to sit down.

"Let Fifteen in."

Xiuhe took the order and went downstairs. After a while, Feng Shiwu, dressed in a black robe, walked in with a food box.

Wanyue extended her hand and beckoned, "Hurry, hurry, put out all the food! I'm starving."

Feng Shiwu nodded, walked over and put the food box on the table, opened the food box, took out the dishes one by one and placed them on the table.

There was also a large table filled with delicious food, all of which were the fruits of Feng Shiwu's morning conquest.

Wanyue picked up her chopsticks and said, "Sit down and eat. Don't make me talk again next time."

Feng Shiwu nodded, his angular face was extremely white.

After eating and drinking her fill, Wanyue contentedly curled up in a chair and rubbed her belly.

Feng Shiwu cleaned up the dishes in silence. The scene was a little quiet, but still quite harmonious.

After clearing away the dishes, Feng Shiwu took out a bag of dried fruits from somewhere, and Wanyue's attention was immediately drawn to it.

"I bought this on my way this morning."

After spending some time together, Feng Shiwu had already figured out Wanyue's taste and bought her sweet candied fruits.

Wanyue took it and held it in her arms and ate it, her eyes narrowed comfortably.

Days passed by, and others didn't know, but Wanyue's life was really comfortable.

After eating different snacks every day for a while, Wanyue felt that she had gained weight.

After the fall, according to past practice, the emperor organized an autumn hunt, and all royal family members had to participate.

Early in the morning, Xiuhe pulled Wanyue out of bed and busied herself combing her hair and dressing her up.

"Eh? Princess, I clearly made the riding and archery uniform according to your measurements, so why can't you wear it?"

Xiuhe stood behind Wanyue, trying hard to tie her belt.

Wanyue was strangled to the point of being unable to breathe.

Wearing this kind of clothes, she felt like she had difficulty even walking, let alone riding a horse or hunting!

After some effort, both of them managed to put on their clothes.

Xiuhe wiped the sweat from Wanyue's forehead with a handkerchief and said worriedly, "Princess, are you feeling uncomfortable? It's all my fault. I got your size wrong."

Wanyue twisted her waist, trying hard to adapt to the tight riding and archery uniform.

"Don't blame you, I'm the one who gained weight."

Xiu He rolled her eyes and said, "Guard Feng has been buying different kinds of food for the princess every day. It's not surprising that she's gained weight."

Well, after all, it’s all her fault. She eats too much.

The original owner had a physique that was prone to gaining weight. Putting the two together, Wanyue was not far from being a chubby girl.

There were already many people at the hunting ground in the western suburbs of the capital when Wanyue arrived.

A high platform was built at the entrance of the hunting ground. The emperor, wearing a bright yellow riding and archery uniform, stood on it and spoke loudly.

Below, a group of royal children listened with solemn expressions. Behind the platform was the hunting ground. From time to time, bursts of roars of wild beasts could be heard from it. Some timid people had already begun to tremble.

Wanyue was standing at the door, followed by Xiuhe and Feng Shiwu.

Prince Ming, who hadn't been seen for a while, walked towards this side with a happy face.

"My dear daughter, do you miss your father?"

When asked "Do you miss me?" during their daily meetings, Wanyue said she was used to it.

"I do. I do."

Prince Ming stared at Wanyue for a moment, his expression growing increasingly aggrieved. "You're lying! My precious daughter, you didn't even think about us, the royal father!"

There's no sign of wanting to do anything on his face, yet he still says he does!

Wanyue blinked innocently. She said what she thought, so why didn’t you believe her?

Regarding the question of 'whether he had thought about it', the father and daughter argued for a long time. Although it was Prince Ming who argued most of the time, Wanyue was just trying to comfort him.

After his precious daughter's assurance for the nth time, Prince Ming finally got over the problem.

"Dear girl, have you gained weight?"

Prince Ming walked around Wanyue and finally concluded that his precious daughter was indeed fat.

But it's good that she's fat, which means his precious daughter is not suffering in the Sixth Prince's Mansion, and the boy surnamed Feng is not treating his daughter harshly.

Why does everyone have to repeat this question when they see her?

Wanyue secretly pinched the little flesh on her waist and sighed in her heart.

"It's good to be fat."

Prince Ming exclaimed happily.

Wanyue declined to comment on this.

"Oh, by the way, daughter, are you ready for this hunting competition?"

Prepare? Why prepare?

"As the only princess of my Ming Palace, you must also participate in the hunting competition."

Wanyue put her hands on her hips, looking a little confused.

Is she going to participate too?

Isn’t this a competition between royal children?

Why is she joining in the fun?

Before Wanyue could accept this, Mu Qingli walked over from a distance and stood in front of Wanyue.

"Princess, good luck in the competition."

As he spoke, Mu Qingli raised his hand and made a fist, expressing his support for Wanyue.

On the other side, the Sixth Prince Feng Chen, who had just finished listening to the emperor's lecture, also walked over and just happened to hear Mu Qingli's words of encouragement.

In an instant, Feng Chen felt jealous.

His daughter Qing'er hadn't even come to cheer him on yet, but he ran over to cheer for that stupid woman named Lu!

Feng Chen subconsciously wanted to go up to Mu Qingli and act coquettishly, but looking at Prince Ming who was staring at him hungrily, Feng Chen stopped abruptly, feeling extremely depressed.
