I'm not lying.

I'm not lying.

This mountain range is changing, and everyone can see that clearly.

The soles of my shoes sank into the ground, and what I touched was a sticky and springy texture. The rugged trees stood in the black mist, and their withered leaves swayed gently, reminiscent of rotten dirt.

The gray-black bird-beast flew in the air, carefully guiding the way. This time they did not go to the altar from the cliff they had discovered before, but took a long detour to the back of the mountain.

Normally, after walking for so long, we should have seen the dawn. But in the drifting black fog, the arrival of light was endlessly delayed. When Canaan and others passed the halfway point of the mountain and stepped into the back of the forest, there was not even a breeze in front of them. Figures stood on the dark red land, their faces were dim in the darkness, their appearances were neat and orderly, and they looked like an army. Pairs of dry and gray eyes stared straight at the newcomers, like a silent grave.

Canaan finally found out where the missing goblins had gone, apart from the sacrificial materials.

At the front were armored troll guards, whose strong resistance to magic and regeneration ability made them indispensable shields in the army. Behind them were the hobgoblin warriors and rangers holding swords, archers ready to go, and tens of thousands of greenskins following behind. This army, modeled after the old system of the beast god, stood on the wasteland, exuding a fierce and murderous aura.

The animals instinctively felt fear and became anxious, but under the comfort of Heaven, they quickly calmed down. Pica looked at these fellows with a complicated feeling, knowing that they could no longer be called living creatures.

"Put on your disguise and don't let them discover your identity."

The priest said, and he continued to move forward. Pica followed his steps closely, hurriedly putting on the mask on his face, feeling a little uneasy: "Sir, I just seemed to see something, just like the future you once talked about, I-"

Has the future really turned into a bloodthirsty murderous monster?

"If you think about it, it will just be a nightmare."

Canaan kept walking, leading the team through the army. The horrible corpses were close at hand. The closer they got, the more they could sense the chaotic and barbaric aura on them, which was the same as the totem pillar in the tribe. The priest did not hesitate. Wherever he went, all the corpses turned to ashes and the pollution was purified. More and more power poured into the heaven, constantly compressed into pure white. Pika's consciousness became more and more hazy, and he could only hear the vague voice of the priest.

"...The fog ahead is too dense. I will deal with it. Rest assured. When you wake up, it will be time to fight."

When Canaan said the last words, the goblins and all the beasts and birds fell silent. Even though they were still following the saint's steps, their hearts were free of distractions, as happy as a sleeping baby.

Among all the creatures, there was only one exception. The gray-black bird-beast stared at the silent goblin, and a few seconds later, it landed on Canaan's shoulder.

The latter glanced at it, and the bird-beast lowered its head obediently and rubbed his cheek, looking like a good boy trying to please his boss. The soft feathers rubbed against his skin, and the priest retracted his gaze and continued to walk forward.

The area behind the army became increasingly chaotic, with a sticky, wet scarlet liquid constantly oozing out of the ground and gathering into pools in low places. Strange phantoms flashed across the water from time to time, and faint whispers blew by my ears. The concentration of the mist was the same as in the Black Mist Era. If an ordinary creature from this world was put in there, it would probably turn into a monster in less than three seconds, and even just seeing it would cause severe dizziness and vomiting.

The Kingdom of Heaven was like a highly efficient vacuum cleaner, meticulously cleaning the area on a large scale, steadily and evenly reducing the concentration of the black mist and engulfing the dangerous changes. Canaan, as a navigator, walked along the rugged and winding path, bypassing the rocks on the mountainside. The route to the bottom of the cliff was extremely steep, and the gravel kicked up while walking rolled down the narrow sides, bringing a panic-inducing hollow echo.

From a distance, the sound of children's laughter could be heard faintly in the air, mixed with the harsh murmurs and chants. Although it was an invisible language, it was attached to the outer side of the light film of [Heaven] like a substance, causing a corrosive hissing sound.

"I give my blood, my body, my bones, my soul..."

The vague whispers were extremely contagious. The flesh tentacles growing from the mountain wall stretched out, opening tiny mouths, singing familiar songs while interweaving to block the priest's way forward.

The silent collision of energies was more intense than fighting on the battlefield. The expanding [Heaven] constantly absorbed pollution and was in turn eroded by it. Shocking waves surged at the edge of the light source, trying to drain the opponent's last drop of blood. As the impact center of all the fights, the young man bore the greatest degree of aftermath.

If his body was still the same "coil" as before, Canaan would not care about this minor injury. But he is now just an ordinary human being, and under the impact of powerful energy, the human body cannot bear the heavy burden. Every inch of his skin was constantly torn, bleeding, and then healed. After repeating this several times, Canaan had to cover himself with the "elf coat" again, and with the help of layers of energy protection, he barely found a breath.

His steps became slower and slower, but he never stopped. After an unknown amount of time, the silver-haired young man finally reached the end of the mountain road.

The strange red light had covered the entire bottom of the cliff, and it rushed greedily as soon as it caught the breath of a living being. Canaan narrowed his eyes and saw a figure standing in the center of the red light.

They were old green-skinned men, wearing bright red robes, surrounding the altar and chanting obscure sacrificial words. The old goblin in the lead had his throat cut and his eye sockets empty. His wailing sobs blended into the entire sacrifice, adding a sense of horror and coldness.

On the altar of corpses surrounded by goblin priests, a dense black mist condensed into a huge sacrificial pillar. Groups of corpses slowly climbed up from under the altar, restored their appearance when they were alive, and roared at those who dared to offend the holy land!

Facing the threat of the dead, [Heaven] shook slightly. The silver-haired young man raised a hand, his eyes deep and calm. Without opening his mouth, the impactful energy also burst out!

The beast birds suddenly awakened. Energy surged into their bodies, their long horns were covered with halos, and their fangs and claws shone with light. They were like the legendary sacred beasts, fearless and unyielding even in the face of undead enemies.

The black-gray bird-beast, which was also covered in energy, let out a long cry and suddenly grew in size. It soared into the sky, covered in pure white light, followed by a sea of birds and beasts, and rushed straight into the group of resurrected goblins in an unstoppable manner!

The blasphemous weapons collided with the light, making a clanging sound. The howling and mournful cries were swallowed up by the roars of the beasts, and the fearless beasts used their claws and fangs to carve out a path. Pika looked at the scene in front of him in shock, and for a moment he was a little stunned. Canaan had already walked past him and headed towards the altar, leaving only one sentence: "Follow me."

Pika followed him anxiously: "Sir, what are you going to do?"

A goblin rushed towards the silver-haired young man, but was slapped to the ground by the black bird. The big bird, full of vigor and pride, made a "ga" sound and commanded the birds and beasts to clear the goblins that blocked the way. With an endless supply of energy and all-round physical fitness bonus, there is no need to worry about being swallowed by the red light. This group of birds and beasts, contrary to their initial wolves running away when they saw the red light, are now ferocious and dominating the scene. Any flaw will be discovered by the sharp-eyed birds and beasts, who will then chase and peck the goblins' butts!

As if he couldn't stand the fact that the defense team he had arranged was humiliated like this. Canaan raised his head and saw the light on the altar again. Before the figure appeared, a monotonous flute sound had spread to the bottom of the cliff. All the creatures in the field froze in place. The black-robed man stopped playing and looked around with a gloomy face.

"It turns out that it is an elf that has been blessed by the Moon God and has embarked on the path to becoming a god. No wonder it was able to disrupt our plans."

He stopped talking and glanced at the short "human" next to him: "Why is there still a stunted dwarf... Never mind, since we are here together, let's deal with them both."

As he said this, he walked towards Canaan and the other two. He took out a childlike-looking colored paintbrush from his pocket and drew a smiley face on the back of each of their hands. Then he clapped his hands and said, "Okay, dolls, follow me now."

Pica's eyes rolled around, and the corners of his mouth raised in an abnormally stiff arc, like a happy doll, and he followed the black-robed man, leaving the silver-haired young man standing there. The black-robed man frowned and drew a smiley face on the back of his other hand. A burst of illusory giggles flashed past their ears, and the black-robed man clapped his hands again, and the young man followed him at a controlled pace.

They returned to the altar, where a complex magic array pattern was drawn on the ground with dried blood. The black-robed man took out another magic crystal. He showed the qualities that a high-level talent should have, making full use of the two different skill systems of existing magic technology and black mist technology. As the magic array was activated, the figures of the three disappeared from the platform in an instant.

When everything was quiet again, the goblins numbly raised their weapons, wanting to kill the beasts. But suddenly the big bird made a "Ga!" sound, and the beasts scattered and ran back the way they came without looking back!

The goblins were kicked in the face with dust, and their movements were stuck. Their gray eyes stared at each other quietly for a while. For a moment, there was only a stagnant silence in front of the altar with only the dried corpses left.

After a long time, the goblins walked back to the altar and staggered to lie down. They did not chase the fleeing beasts and birds, and soon the cliff bottom returned to its usual silence.

On the other hand.

After a brief dizziness, the black-robed man returned with the captive and walked out of the magic circle. The magic circle was set up in a hidden underground space. In addition to the magic circle, there were tables, chairs and bookcases next to it. A black-robed man who was sitting at a book reading heard the movement and glanced at the person who came and behind him: "What is this?"

The man in black who brought them here didn't shy away from the question: "Material."

The latter shrugged his shoulders and said, "An elf blessed by the Moon God? No wonder the church has sent so many people here recently. But it doesn't matter. If it weren't for so much divine power stimulation, our plan would have been delayed for a long time. Lock them up first, and then feed them to the [Beast God]. The power of the Moon God in him will make it even crazier. Remember to put the [Little Girl] back into the confinement room."

The black-robed man nodded and clapped his hands again. The two followed him through the corridor. The craftsman seemed to have been stationed here for some time. The doors were closed and only the lights shone on them from overhead. Soon, the black-robed man brought them to a door. He took out a bottle of blood and dripped it on the fox head door lock. The fox, who tasted the blood, laughed strangely and the door opened.

Inside was a corridor with symmetrical small cells on both sides, several of which were already occupied. Seeing the door open, the prisoners cast hateful glances at him. But when they saw who was coming, they were all stunned.

The man in black robe ignored them, opened two cells casually, locked the silver-haired young man and the dwarf in separately, and then left without looking back.

In the silence, no one spoke. After a moment, the silver-haired young man, who had been like a puppet, suddenly blinked.

Facing the bearded man in the cell opposite with a look of disbelief on his face, he greeted him calmly: "Nice to meet you again, Templars."

The bearded man and his subordinates who were ordered to search for the missing "nature believer": "......"

They hesitated to speak, they were in disbelief, they were shocked: "Why are you here!?"

Canaan asked calmly, "Why are you here?"

Bearded man: “…”

What other reason could there be? Why are we here? Isn't it clear enough to you?

He tried to hold his words in for a while, but finally managed to utter one sentence: "We are here to find you, don't interrupt us. Why did you pretend to be a believer in nature to deceive us, and why did you get involved with this group of people?"

In response to his question, the young man was silent for a moment and sighed softly. For the first time, a hint of helplessness appeared in his azure eyes: "I didn't deceive you."

He raised his hands and unbuttoned his clothes, revealing one shoulder. The elemental crystals growing in his flesh and blood shone through his pale skin, forming a gorgeous multi-pointed star pattern on the surface. The bearded man looked dazed, and recognized at a glance which god's vassal mark it was.

This, this, this... this is unscientific! ?

It's understandable for a god's favor, but why did two gods recognize him? Who is this elf?

The bearded man, whose common sense had been shattered to the ground, was confused and began to doubt his own eyes. He looked at it again and again in disbelief, but he had to admit: this is the holy emblem of the goddess of magic, and this elf was favored by two righteous gods. If this is the case, he might really be the favored one of the goddess of nature, but he was not found by the Church of Nature.

If he knew that this "elf" had the blessing of at least two righteous gods, the Templar would probably burst into tears. The silver-haired young man put on his clothes and looked around at all the cells. All the Paladins who met his gaze subconsciously looked away, as they always felt that his face was emitting a kind of holy light, which made them want to believe every word he said.

"Please believe me. No matter what I do, it is for the continuation of human survival. There is a huge conspiracy brewing in this land, and I must solve it. This is my mission and my responsibility."

The friendliness of [Heaven] still worked well. The young man simply recounted what happened before, and the paladins became more and more shocked as they listened, and they almost couldn't wrap their heads around it. The only sober one, Pica, closed his eyes. This scene was so familiar that he immediately realized what would happen next.

As it expected. After finishing the explanation, Canaan slowly spoke: "My purpose of coming here is to resolve this matter. The beast god must not be revived. We must stop these people before it spreads completely. The eyes of the gods are blinded, and only we can see the truth. Therefore, stopping them is something that only we can do."

"You can choose to fight alongside me, or you can stay here. This is a very dangerous thing, and you have the right to choose whether to believe or escape."

This passage may seem plain, but every word is tap dancing on the most sensitive nerves of the Paladin: As we all know, the Beast God and the Twelve Righteous Gods are at loggerheads. Now the enemy of our Lord is about to revive, evil is spreading, there is danger ahead, and the world is in danger. As a Paladin, others are rushing in front, so will you go or not?

Of course, the Paladins have only one answer. If they don't say so, they would be unworthy of being knights!

Pika had seen through everything. In its wise eyes, this group of humans really fell into the pit one by one, and they all nodded heavily.
