Chapter 4 What time do we go to work?
"It's just a slight cold, it's nothing serious." Hearing Zhang Guilan's voice, Yun Jin hurriedly pinched the pill in the palm of his hand, turned around and smiled at Zhang Guilan.
"I'm not saying anything harsh about you, but you're such an old person, but you don't even know how to take care of yourself. You always make me worry." Upon hearing that her daughter had a slight cold, Zhang Guilan showed a helpless look on her face.
"Mom, catching a cold is very normal. There's no need for you to make such a fuss. I've followed your instructions and tried my best to cook and eat at home. Don't worry, I can really take care of myself."
Seeing that her mother was worried about her, Yunjin started to act coquettishly towards her.
Yunjin, who just started working, basically eats out for three meals a day for the sake of convenience, or else she goes home and orders takeout.
After Zhang Guilan discovered Yunjin's behavior, she first scolded her, and then told Yunjin to try to cook for herself at home in the future, otherwise she would force Yunjin to move back here.
Mom and stepfather's home is far away from where Yunjin works. Moreover, their house has two bedrooms and a living room. If Yunjin moves back, it will inevitably affect everyone's normal life.
As a last resort, Yunjin could only promise her mother that she would try to cook at home as long as she was not busy. As time went by, Yunjin slowly began to like cooking. Except for lunch in the company cafeteria, Yunjin would cook breakfast and dinner at home.
Taking advantage of Zhang Guilan's distraction, Yun Jin swallowed the pill in his hand into his mouth.
After taking it with boiled water, Yun Jin finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Now that she's taken the medicine, those nasty germs shouldn't be so stubborn as to bother her again, right?
After taking the medicine, Yun Jin said to Zhang Guilan, "Mom, you go and rest first. I'll go to the front to help Uncle Chen."
"Forget it. You finally have a day off. How can I let you come to work for me again? Besides, there are many new varieties of fruits in the store. You are not familiar with them. Don't go and cause trouble."
Zhang Guilan pulled Yunjin and said with concern.
When divorcing Yunjin's father, the other party disliked the fact that Yunjin was a girl and was unwilling to have her or pay a penny in child support.
Zhang Guilan had a very low income at the time, but after hearing her ex-husband's disdainful words about their daughter, she took custody of Yunjin without saying a word.
For this reason, many people said that Zhang Guilan was stupid. How could she find a good next home with a burden like Yunjin?
Everyone advised Zhang Guilan not to act on impulse and asked her to hand Yunjin over to her ex-husband. After all, Yunjin's father's family was well off.
But Zhang Guilan remained unmoved and was determined to keep Yunjin by her side even at the risk of severing ties with her natal family.
Fortunately, good things happen to good people. After the mother and daughter met their stepfather Chen Zhi, the situation finally improved.
Chen Zhi treated Yunjin as his own daughter. He once said that he didn't want to have his own child.
Although Chen Zhi made this statement, Chen's family was unwilling, especially Chen Zhi's mother. She believed that her son was already at a disadvantage by marrying a married woman with children while being unmarried, and now he didn't want his own child. The old lady refused to agree no matter what.
Out of desperation, Zhang Guilan finally gave birth to Chen Zhi's son, Chen Xiaotong, which consolidated her position in the Chen family.
The birth of the younger brother made Zhang Guilan and his wife shift all their attention from Yunjin to the younger brother.
Fortunately, Yunjin was about to graduate from elementary school at that time. Her parents' divorce made her particularly precocious. Although she felt uncomfortable with her mother's behavior, she could understand it.
After her younger brother was born, the originally small house seemed even smaller. Yunjin at that time was always looking forward to growing up quickly so that she could earn enough money to buy a big house and bring her mother and her family to live with her.
As she grew older, Yunjin realized that her childhood thoughts were wishful thinking, especially after she started working, this feeling became even stronger.
With her current monthly salary of 5,000 to 6,000 yuan, it is harder than climbing to the sky to buy a house in Binhai, where every inch of land is valuable.
Dissuaded by her mother, Yunjin did not insist.
After chatting with Zhang Guilan in the store for a while, Yunjin said he wanted to go back to pack up and left the fruit shop.
On the way home, Yunjin went to the supermarket and bought a lot of food.
I don’t know what the situation is at the head office, and it’s so far away from the rented house. It seems that I may have even less time to go to the supermarket in the future than before.
But who knows, what if I get fired by the president within a few days? At that time, I can stay as long as I want.
Thinking of the position he would take up at the head office, Yun Jin looked hopeless.
I thought I could work at Mu Corporation until retirement, but I didn't expect God would let me go so soon.
In Binhai, Mu's is considered a company with very good treatment. Yun Jin doesn't know where else he can find a company with such good treatment after leaving Mu's.
Yunjin returned home with the bag in a depressed mood. She picked out the ingredients one by one, put them in the refrigerator, and then prepared dinner.
Man is iron and food is steel. Even if you are going to be fired tomorrow, you should eat well today. Your body is your own and there is no need to hurt it because of irrelevant people.
Yunjin, who has always been open-minded, did not think too much about what would happen next. Putting aside the negative emotions in her mind, Yunjin happily started cooking.
The next morning, Yunjin went out an hour earlier than usual.
Walking into the gate of Mu’s head office, Yun Jin glanced at the time. It was exactly eight o’clock.
Yun Jin, who thought she had arrived early, was shocked when she saw a row of people sitting at the front desk. How come the front desk was already full of people when the office hours were only nine o'clock?
Seeing Yun Jin coming in, one of the other receptionists stood up and greeted her warmly, "Hello, Miss, how can I help you?"
"My name is Yunjin. I was transferred from the branch company to be the president's secretary." Yunjin smiled at the other party and responded softly.
"You are the new Secretary Yun. Assistant Matt has already greeted us in advance. Secretary Yun, I will take you to meet Assistant Matt." After hearing Yun Jin's self-introduction, several receptionists turned their eyes to Yun Jin at the same time. The receptionist who had received her before responded with a smile.
"Hello, I would like to ask, what time does the company open?" Following the receptionist to Assistant Matt's office, Yun Jin saw that many offices were basically full of people, and she asked in confusion.
Is it that the working hours of the head office and the branch office are different and are 8 o'clock?
Yun Jin pondered secretly in her heart.
"It's the same as the branch where you worked before, it's 9 o'clock." The receptionist turned her head to look at Yun Jin and said with a smile.
Seeing the confusion in Yun Jin's eyes, the receptionist explained, "It's just that President Mu arrives at the company before 9 o'clock every day. As his subordinates, how could we possibly come later than the boss, so..."
The receptionist didn't finish the rest of the words, but Yun Jin already understood what the other party meant.
What an evil capitalist! He doesn't even let go of his employees' normal rest time.
If they are in such a state, then wouldn't I, as a secretary, be even more miserable?
A terrible thought popped up in Yunjin's mind, and she was so scared that she wanted to run away.
