Chapter 110: First Victory
"Where do you live? How many people are there in your family? When were you born?"
Qian stared at her with a smile, turning the Buddhist beads in her hand. Under her calm eyes, there was a dark tide. "When did your mother follow the Zhao family? Why has it never been mentioned?"
A series of questions were thrown out, and someone chuckled. Everyone in the hall was waiting to see Su Cheng make a fool of himself.
"The fact that I can stand here is the best proof." Su Cheng met her gaze and smiled. "My father is the current head of the Zhao family. Naturally, he has the ability and means. If I had no basis, how could I appear here?"
"Auntie, are you questioning my father?"
Qian's expression suddenly changed, and she could no longer maintain her smile. "Your words are a bit harsh."
"How dare you! Who gave you the courage to speak to my eldest sister-in-law like that?" Zhang couldn't sit still any longer. She glared at Su Cheng fiercely and shouted, "There are no women in the second house. The power of housekeeping is in the hands of my eldest sister-in-law. How dare you disrespect your elders? Do you think your life is too easy?"
Su Cheng glanced at her lightly, with a sarcastic smile on his lips.
Zhang naturally wouldn't miss this opportunity to show her loyalty. She wiped away her nonexistent tears with a handkerchief. "I really feel sorry for my sister-in-law. She works hard for the Zhao family day and night, but she is contradicted by an ignorant outsider. It's really heartbreaking."
Qian sighed softly, her face showing helplessness. "As a wife of the Zhao family, I must fulfill my duties. It doesn't matter if I suffer a little or feel tired. My greatest wish is for the Zhao family to be safe and sound."
Su Cheng raised his eyes, his eyes calm and without ripples, "I also feel sorry for my aunt, why not give me the power of housekeeper and let me bear this hardship."
"What..." Qian was stunned for a moment, then she was furious. "You just entered the mansion, and you dare to set your sights on the household expenses?"
"I just feel sorry for my aunt. Why doesn't she remember my kindness and is angry instead?"
Su Cheng feigned innocence, standing there at a loss. "I'm still young, smarter than my older aunt, and I'm my father's only daughter. There's someone to carry on the second branch of the family, so why can't I manage the household?"
"You!" Qian was so angry that her vision went dark. She leaned on the table and took a long time to calm down. "What a clever mouth you have."
"Sister-in-law, how can such a country woman, who has no manners at all, enter our Zhao family?" Zhang was so angry that her face turned pale and she pointed at Su Cheng with a trembling hand, "If she were here, wouldn't the whole capital laugh at our Zhao family!"
"Noisy." The man who had been sitting next to Qian for a long time suddenly spoke up. His inverted triangle eyes swept coldly towards Su Cheng, and his tone was low. "You are disrespectful to your elders and have no regard for the inferiors. You have turned our family upside down. How can I allow you to stay in the Zhao family?"
"Whether you are Zhao Hu's biological daughter or not, if I, his elder brother, don't give the nod, you can forget about becoming a phoenix."
The man waved his hand and shouted, "Come here, kick her and all her unreputable relatives out, leave no one behind!"
As soon as he finished speaking, there was complete silence all around. The maids and servants all lowered their heads and no one dared to step forward.
"You..." The man was so angry that his goatee was shaking. "Are you going to rebel? This is the Zhao family. You don't obey the master. Do you want to be sold out?"
"In reply to your Excellency, the head of the family has ordered that no one is allowed to be disrespectful to the young lady." Manager Liu had a dull face and a dull voice.
"How ridiculous!" The man's face flushed red. He looked around and pointed at Zhang. "You, drag this village woman out!"
"Ah? I..." Zhang's face froze for a moment. She raised her hand and pointed at herself, saying uncertainly, "Brother, is it inappropriate for me to do this?"
The man glared at her and Zhang fell silent, not daring to talk back.
"I'm afraid uncle has misunderstood." Su Cheng raised his eyebrows slightly, a smile flashing in his eyes, "No matter if it's the servants or Third Aunt, or even anyone else in this family, no one can touch me."
"Uncle, you'd better save your energy and stop making trouble. When the finances fall into my hands, you and Auntie can enjoy your old age in peace."
"You're dreaming!" Qian was so angry that she was shaking all over. She raised her hand, picked up the teacup beside her and threw it at Su Cheng.
With a crisp sound, the teacup shattered at Su Cheng's feet, and the splashing tea soaked the hem of her skirt.
"As long as I'm alive, you'll never be able to take over the Zhao family!"
Su Cheng calmly lowered her eyes, looking at the broken teacup on the ground. She bent down to pick up the largest piece of broken porcelain and walked forward slowly. "I'm trying to persuade you politely in order to save your dignity. Auntie, please don't be so arrogant."
"You...what are you going to do?" Qian had never encountered such a scene before. Seeing the sharp porcelain shard in her hand, her face turned pale in an instant. "How dare you...how dare you!"
There is a wall behind them, and the Qian family has nowhere to retreat.
Su Cheng glanced at her, turned around, raised his hand quickly, and slapped the woman on the left in the face.
"Sheng'er!"
Qian screamed, but because of what Su Cheng was holding, she didn't dare to move a step.
"You...you dare to hit me?" Zhao Sheng'er covered her cheek, slowly tilted her head, and looked at the woman in front of her in disbelief. "Who do you think you are? How dare you hit me!"
"This slap can't fall on my aunt's face. You are her daughter, and you should take it." Su Cheng gently raised the corners of her lips, smiled, and spoke in a gentle tone, like a naive little white flower. But if you look closely, you can see that her fingertips holding the broken porcelain pieces are white, and she may attack at any time.
"Today, if this lamp doesn't fall on me, I'll just give you a slap." Su Cheng turned around and glanced at Qian, whose face was pale. "If you bully me again, it won't be so simple."
"That's ridiculous..." Zhang was breathing rapidly, extremely angry. "How can you have any manners at all?"
Su Cheng glanced at her sideways and said softly, "You were so busy beating others that you forgot to give it to Aunt San."
Zhang was startled and subconsciously raised her hands to cover her face, her eyes full of fear.
Seeing how scared she was, Su Cheng sneered, threw away the porcelain pieces, turned around and left, his steps even lighter than when he came.
The porcelain fragment spun on the ground and landed at Qian's feet.
"Mother!" Zhao Sheng'er was furious. She raised her hand and pointed at the slender figure walking away, shouting, "Are you just going to watch me get slapped by a country woman?"
"Don't be impatient..." Qian calmed herself down and patiently coaxed her daughter, "Let her be proud this time. Mother has her own way to deal with her. It's not that easy to step on us to get to the top."
Hearing this, Zhao Sheng'er finally calmed down. She glanced at Su Cheng's direction with hatred, her eyes vicious, "Bitch! Do you think it's so easy to get into our Zhao family?"
Sooner or later, she will get back this slap!
"Miss, come this way." Cai Lian led the way, always keeping an eye on Su Cheng.
Su Cheng won the first battle, a smile appeared on his face, and his steps were light.
As I walked through the Moon Gate, a shadow suddenly appeared in front of me.
Su Cheng looked up and happened to meet the man's astonished gaze.
