Chapter 241: There are already spies in the Zhao family
Half a quarter of an hour later, two rings, three necklaces and a jade pendant were found.
If one is sold alone, it can sustain an ordinary family for more than ten years.
Liu Shoucheng's face was ashen. He had never expected that these maids would come back to attack him. He froze in place for a moment and lost his reaction.
Liu Cuilan was almost scared to the point of peeing her pants. She huddled behind her husband, not daring to breathe.
"Sister Cai Lian, these are valuable items we found. Please take a look." When the maid saw Cai Lian, she was like a chick seeing an eagle. She was very respectful, fearing that the eagle would punish her.
"If these things were reported to the authorities, do you two know how long you would be in jail?" Cai Lian lowered her eyes, scanning each of the items. "The young lady has long suspected that you have evil intentions. To save your dignity, I will spare you from being sent to the authorities and only give you thirty lashes."
"Remember their faces. Throw them out after the execution. They will never be allowed to enter the Zhao family again."
"yes."
"You can't... you can't do this to me!" Liu Shoucheng was held up by two servants and shouted towards the Hengyang Courtyard, "Dad, Mom, save your son!"
Unfortunately, Uncle Liu could not hear his call, and Aunt Liu had long been extremely disappointed with her son and hated him to the core.
"Old man, don't scare me..." Aunt Liu lay on the edge of the bed, crying non-stop, "If you leave, how will Nizi and I live in this world? It's all my fault for being soft-hearted. If I had listened to you and Ah Cheng earlier, how could they have made you so angry!"
Aunt Liu kept beating herself, regret growing in her heart.
Uncle Liu lay flat on the bed with his eyes closed and his face as pale as paper, with the court doctor giving him acupuncture beside him.
The long needle was inserted into the top of his head, but Uncle Liu showed no signs of waking up.
Liu Shoucheng and Liu Cuilan were thrown out in the street by the servants, making them a laughing stock in front of the surrounding people and losing all face.
"Rou'er's father, let's go." Liu Cuilan couldn't stand the strange looks from others. She got up and ran away with her husband, regardless of her swollen buttocks.
Only after they ran into the corner of an alley did they breathe a sigh of relief.
"Bitch! All of them are bitches!" Liu Shoucheng's eyes turned red with anger. He turned around and took out a token from somewhere. "Fortunately, I was careful and hid this thing in my crotch. Fortunately, I was not asked to take off my pants when I was beaten with the stick, otherwise, our suffering would have been in vain!"
"What the hell is this?" Liu Cuilan gasped, looking at the token that was no bigger than her palm, and asked softly, "Why can't I understand it?"
"You know so few characters, how are you supposed to understand?" Liu Shoucheng pointed at the characters on the token and whispered, "See? It's pronounced 'bing'. Didn't you say before that the Zhao family's patriarch is the Minister of War? With this as a threat, I'm going to extort a large sum of money from the Zhao family and get back the face we've lost!"
"Her father, you're really smart." Liu Cuilan slapped her thigh with joy. The pain in her butt didn't even bother her when she heard about the large sum of money. "Now, let the Zhao family learn a lesson! Who made them so determined to oppose us?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the man fell from the sky and stood in front of the two of them.
Liu Cuilan was startled by the sudden appearance of the man and screamed, "You... who are you?"
The man lowered his eyes and looked at the token held in Liu Shoucheng's hand, and the corners of his lips curled slightly, "You two, my master invites you."
Without waiting for Liu Shoucheng to refuse, the man grabbed one person's collar with one hand and threw them into the carriage parked at the entrance of the alley.
The wheels turned slowly, and no one knew what had happened in this inconspicuous alley.

Prince Qin's Mansion
"Master, the person is here."
The man threw Liu Shoucheng and Liu Cuilan to the ground and bowed to the person sitting at the top with great respect.
Liu Shoucheng hadn't recovered from his shock yet. He mustered up the courage to look up and saw a gentle-looking woman looking at him with a smile, her eyes filled with confusion. "Who are you? What do you want to do by arresting us?"
"How dare you." The man kicked Liu Shoucheng on the back and shouted, "Who gave you the courage to speak to Princess Qin like that?"
Liu Shoucheng was not paying attention for a moment and was kicked suddenly. His chin hit the ground and one of his front teeth fell out. A taste of rust instantly filled his mouth.
Liu Cuilan was so frightened when she saw her husband injured that she didn't even dare to help him and just huddled aside like a quail.
The one in charge turned out to be Princess Qin.
What on earth did they do? First the Zhao family, then the princess...
"I heard that you two suffered a lot in the Zhao family." Sheng Qiulan leaned back in the chair, a smile in her eyes, and spoke softly, "Don't be afraid. I sent someone to bring you here, and I have no ill intentions."
Liu Shoucheng looked up in a daze. First, he was hit on the buttocks with a board, then he was kicked on the back, and then his front teeth were knocked out. He was in great pain all over.
Even though it hurt, he immediately grasped the key point of Princess Qin's words.
It stands to reason that Princess Qin couldn't have known what happened in the Zhao family at the first time, unless... she already had spies in the Zhao family.
"Princess, we are just farmers, and we have nothing to offer you as a filial tribute—"
Before Liu Shoucheng finished speaking, he saw the woman sitting at the top glance to the side. The maid understood and walked forward and threw out a thick stack of silver bills in her hand.
Countless silver bills fell from the sky, and each bill had the amount of one hundred taels clearly written on it. They swirled in the air and then slowly floated down like snow, and the whole house was filled with the smell of money.
Liu Shoucheng was dazzled and stared blankly at the banknotes scattered on the ground, unable to react for a moment.
Liu Cuilan rushed over like a madman, ignoring her injured hip, and desperately lay on the ground to pick up the banknotes.
"How is it?" Sheng Qiulan pursed her lips and smiled, looking harmless. "Now, can you talk to me properly?"
Liu Shoucheng grabbed his wife's arm and looked up blankly, "What does the princess want me to do?"
He used to be an accountant, and he knew very well that there was no free lunch in the world, let alone free banknotes.
"I didn't realize you were such a smart guy." Sheng Qiulan's eyes were filled with satisfaction as she looked at his cuffs. "Did you steal Zhao Hu's military token from the Zhao family?"
Hearing this, Liu Shoucheng immediately understood and nodded in agreement, "Yes, I was greedy at the time and wanted to take something away from the Zhao family. I originally only took some valuable trinkets, but then I found a gate open and went in to take a look. I found the thing locked in a box."
"I thought at the time that anything that could be locked up must be valuable, and since the box wasn't big, I hid it on my body."
Sheng Qiulan became interested. "Since it was locked, how did you open it?"
"Tsk, that broken wooden box. That lock protects against gentlemen, not villains." Liu Shoucheng, fearing another kick, answered truthfully, "I threw the box against the wall. The lock was fine, but the wooden box fell apart. That's how I got it out."
"I know you hate Su Cheng. We have a common enemy." Sheng Qiulan's smile deepened as he spoke softly, "I don't ask for much. Give me the military token, and I'll guarantee you a lifetime of wealth and glory. This will make you money faster than blackmailing Zhao Hu."
