Chapter 40 What I like must be mine

Chapter 40 What I like must be mine

Su Cheng threw the blood-stained clothes into the fire and watched it being engulfed by the flames.

The jade cream was held in her palm, and Su Cheng was distracted for a moment.

The root cause of Song Gang's death was her. Xie Jinyu killed her to prevent future troubles and protect her safety.

The scene of the man kneeling on the bed with his head down wiping the bloody knife was engraved in his mind, like a ghost that could not be shaken off. Su Cheng was afraid that he would become the next soul to be killed by the knife and follow the same path as the original owner.

"What is sister-in-law thinking about?"

A man's voice suddenly sounded in his ears. Su Cheng shuddered and turned back hesitantly.

Xie Jinyu supported herself on the ground with one hand and bent towards her. Her already loose outer robe slipped off her shoulders, revealing her moon-white inner garment. Her phoenix eyes drooped, her eyelashes were long and dense, and a playful smile was curled at the corner of her mouth. She turned her head and the distance between them was shortened in an instant.

"Nothing." Su Cheng forced a smile, stroking the porcelain bottle in his hand with his fingertips, "This Jade Skin Cream... Thank you for remembering it."

"What's the big deal? Sister-in-law, don't you miss me?" Xie Jinyu curled her lips and chuckled. She leaned closer, half leaning against her body, and put her thin lips on her ear. "If it's inconvenient for you to wipe it, you can ask me to do it for you."

He said this frivolously, and the smile on his face was seductive, with an ambiguous atmosphere spreading.

The next moment, Xie Jinyu's body was suddenly pulled away by someone, and with a "swish" sound, the left sleeve of her outer robe was torn off.

Su Cheng raised his eyes in a daze and met Xie Suzhou's red eyes.

"What are you doing..." Xie Suzhou held the sleeve in his hand, his jaw tense, and a look of annoyance appeared on his usually calm face.

"I'd like to ask what Second Brother is going to do." Xie Jinyu slowly put on her clothes, her face uneasy, and the smile on her lips faded a little. "You came so suddenly, without even saying hello, and tore my sleeve. Aren't you going to trouble my sister-in-law to help mend it?"

Xie Suzhou looked at him with his dark and deep peach blossom eyes. Although he was unwilling to admit it, his jealousy almost consumed him.

"Sister-in-law." Xie Suzhou's voice was low, and there was a hint of gritted teeth in his words, "Go back to the house."

"Suzhou..." Su Cheng didn't understand where the tense atmosphere came from, and spoke hesitantly, "You are brothers, is there anything you can't talk about calmly? Jinyu and I just..."

"Sister-in-law, go back." Before she could finish her explanation, Xie Jinyu suddenly interrupted, turned her head to look at her, smiled nonchalantly, and whispered soothingly, "Second brother must have something important to tell me. It's almost dawn, sister-in-law, go back to your room and get some sleep."

Su Cheng looked up at the sky, then glanced at the two men's faces with annoyance.

Xie Jinyu's face was gentle, but there was no smile in her phoenix eyes. Xie Suzhou's eyes were dark and sharp, and he was also on the verge of anger.

Su Cheng bit her lower lip and muttered softly, "Why is it like catching an adulterer?"

She didn't dare to offend the two plague gods, so to save her life, she had to run back into the house.

The door to the west room opened and closed again, and when there was no movement inside, Xie Suzhou looked at his younger brother and whispered, "Do you know what you are doing?"

Xie Jinyu raised the corners of his lips slightly, and instead of answering, he asked, "What do you mean, second brother?"

"You already know it, why do I need to explain it to you?" Xie Suzhou's eyes were as sharp as a knife, and his handsome face was full of anger. "It's the middle of the night, a man and a woman alone, and you're acting so intimately. Do you still remember that she is the eldest sister-in-law?"

"She is the eldest sister-in-law, not the second sister-in-law." Xie Jinyu raised her eyebrows slightly, her eyes calm, "Second brother, why are you so anxious?"

"You're absolutely ridiculous!" Xie Suzhou tried his best to hide the jealousy in his eyes, his brows furrowed. "Since you know she's the eldest sister-in-law, why do you still dare..."

"If my second brother dares, why shouldn't I?" Xie Jinyu raised her eyes slightly, with a fearless attitude. "What did my second brother dream about that day in the house? Who was he talking about? Do you need me to clarify?"

Xie Suzhou's mind went blank for a moment, a chill spread from the soles of his feet to the top of his head, his body stiffened, and he stared at his face in a daze.

"I can't learn Second Brother's clear-headed self-control. Whatever I like must be mine." Xie Jinyu leaned over and took half of his sleeve from him. "After I die and enter the underworld, I will go and apologize to Big Brother."

After he finished speaking, he slowly turned around and opened the door of the east room, leaving Xie Suzhou alone standing in the yard.

"Why is it like this..." Xie Suzhou lowered his head helplessly, feeling a pang in his heart.

Xie Jinyu has been weak since childhood. His parents went out to farm every day and there was no one to take care of little Jinyu. He took the initiative to take on this task and raised him with rice soup.

Because of this, he is the person who knows the third brother best in the entire Xie family.

My third brother has a bad temper and seems easy to talk to, but in fact he is the most difficult one to get along with in the family.

Anyone who catches his eye will not be able to escape.

Xie Suzhou placed the clean food box on the stone table in the yard and slowly raised his eyes to look towards the west room.

Suddenly, a sigh was heard in the yard.

Only after the footsteps in the yard faded away did Xie Jinyu take off her shoes and socks and fall headfirst onto the bed.

On the other side, Xie Ming, who had heard the confrontation between his two brothers, slowly opened his eyes.

"Boss, we caught a little girl at the foot of the mountain!"

The man sitting in the upper seat was about forty years old, with a big beard covering half of his face, bare arms, and a tattoo of an indecipherable shape on his shoulder. He looked around below with his three white eyes, and finally landed on the woman who was carried in by his men.

"How rare! A girl is running into my stronghold?" The man sneered, his beard trembling. "Tie her up and take her away. Let the brothers have some fun with her."

"Wait a minute! Master Cui, please allow me to say a few words!"

"Stop." Cui Yong waved his hand, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees, and looked at her with interest. "This is the first time I've seen someone walk into a bandit's lair and not cry. What's your name?"

"I... my name is Zhou Beibei, and I'm from the same village as your little brother Song Gang." Zhou Beibei's eyes were red, but she forced herself not to let the tears fall. She was still wearing the clothes she wore when she was released from prison. Her hair was disheveled, and her shoes were stained with mud. She looked like she had run here overnight. "Boss Cui, I'm running to you today, fearless of danger, just to tell you... Song Gang is dead!"

"What?" Cui Yong's face darkened and he sat up straight in an instant. "Are you telling the truth?"

"Human lives are at stake. I dare not speak nonsense!" Zhou Beibei's shoulders trembled uncontrollably due to panic, and her voice was tinged with tears. "Song Gang was framed by the Xie family in our village. He was already dead when I rushed over..."

After that, she pulled out an object from her sleeve and presented it with both hands, "This is Song Gang's hidden card. Please take a look, Boss."

Cui Yong's face turned cold and he winked at his subordinate beside him. The latter immediately understood and took the card.

"It really is Brother Song's." Cui Yong lowered his eyes and slowly played with the blood-stained cards in his hand. "Are you Song Gang's lover?"

Zhou Beibei shook her head and whispered, "I know the boss is a loyal and righteous man. Song Gang was brutally murdered. I came here today only to ask the boss to avenge him and kill the Xie family."

"Revenge?" Cui Yong sneered, throwing his cards carelessly. "What loyalty can I have with a dead man? What good will I gain from avenging him? You little girl, are you taking me for a fool?"

Cui Yong stared at her with a sarcastic smile, "If I'm not mistaken, you came here so hastily. You probably have a conflict with the Xie family you mentioned, right?"
