Chapter 66 Not Xie Family's Biological Child

Chapter 66 Not Xie Family's Biological Child

Pingchuan County Prison

Cao Shanwei dismissed the jailer and looked around until he was sure that there was no one nearby. Then he led the woman behind him in quietly.

"Young Madam, please hurry. County Magistrate Wang has only given you one incense stick of time."

Su Cheng covered the lower half of his face with a handkerchief and nodded slightly, "That's enough."

Cao Shanwei finally felt relieved and took out the key to open the last cell door.

The cell was dark, surrounded by walls, with only one window that was no bigger than a head. The floor was covered with messy hay that smelled pungent. A man was curled up in a corner, sleeping against the wall.

The cell door was opened, and a ray of light came in. The man in the corner suddenly felt uncomfortable. He rubbed his eyes with his dirty hands, sat up with difficulty, and looked outside.

"Su...Su Cheng?"

The woman tiptoed and slowly walked into the cell. She glanced around and finally landed on the man's face. "I haven't seen you for a few days. You've lost a lot of weight."

Xie Song saw her, and a strong hatred flashed in his eyes. "What are you doing here? Do you want to see me laugh at you?"

"What's so funny about you? You're not even worthy of being a joke." Su Cheng covered his mouth and nose with a handkerchief and spoke slowly, "I came here to learn about the life stories of the three Suzhou brothers."

Xie Song was stunned for a moment, his eyes widening unconsciously, revealing most of the whites in his eyes, "What nonsense are you talking about?"

"You're already dying, are you still clinging to those old, rotten things?"

Xie Song couldn't see her expression because of the veil, but he could easily hear the sarcasm in her words.

"You've changed so much. I don't believe your parents didn't say anything to you before they left." Su Cheng stared at him straight in the eyes, not wanting to miss any of his micro-expressions.

"You think you can wipe out the blood relationship between us brothers just by touching our lips and your red lips and white teeth?" Xie Song snorted coldly, still shrinking in the corner. "Don't dream."

Su Cheng's words were full of sarcasm, and his eyes were determined. "You don't dare to say it, are you afraid that the dirty things your parents did in the past will be exposed?"

"You're talking nonsense!" When Xie Song mentioned his parents, he seemed to suddenly find strength. He staggered to his feet and stared at her coldly, "My parents are innocent. When have they ever done anything wrong?"

"You don't recognize it?" Su Cheng had anticipated his reaction. "Someone can recognize it for you."

Xie Song's expression changed slightly, and he stared at her intently, "What do you mean by that?"

"What your parents did was discovered by Aunt Liu. Even if you don't tell me, I can find out." Su Cheng lowered his eyebrows and spoke lazily, "I came to ask you today for the sake of Xie Chen and Cuicui's reputation. I don't want them to bear the infamy at such a young age. Please don't let my kindness go to waste and make this matter worse. It will only bring harm to your Xie family and no benefit."

Xie Song was so angry that his whole body was shaking. He looked at her with resentment and bit the corner of his mouth until it bled. There was only silence in the cell.

"Since you are unwilling to cooperate, then forget it." Su Cheng withdrew his gaze and made a gesture to walk out.

"etc."

A hoarse man's voice came from behind. Su Cheng stopped, turned slightly sideways, and glanced at him.

Xie Song's face was covered in dust, and there were a few strands of hay stuck in his messy hair. He looked very pitiful. He suppressed his anger and asked in a low voice, "Su Cheng, what on earth do you want to do..."

"I just want to find out about their backgrounds, that's all." Su Cheng's eyes were cold, and he felt no sympathy for him at all. "You've lived with the love of your parents for more than twenty years, but what about them?"

Xie Song looked at her for a long moment before he suddenly smiled. "Su Cheng, what do they have to do with you? Why don't you just tell me which of my brothers you're attracted to?"

Su Cheng lowered his head and chuckled, pulled something out of his sleeve and threw it at Xie Song's feet.

The amulet, which belonged only to the child, spun in the air like a falling flower and finally landed on a piece of dry grass.

"Zhao Zhao..." Xie Song suddenly raised his head and looked at her in disbelief. "What did you do to her? You vicious woman, she's only two months old!"

"Besides her, you also have a seven-year-old son and a daughter who will soon be six." Su Cheng looked up at him with a stern look in his eyes. "People should consider everything comprehensively."

"You...you're using the children to threaten me?" Xie Song's body softened, the color draining from his face instantly. "Aunt Liu only knows that these three aren't my parents' biological children, but she doesn't know where they came from. She's pushed me so hard that I can die with this secret. No one else can expect to have a good life!"

"You're just a worthless life, so just die." Su Cheng sneered, disgust flashing in his eyes, "You're talking as if you won't have to die if you tell this secret."

"You like Yao Su'er, so naturally you like your child even more. If you don't want to tell me, I believe it won't be long before your family of three will be reunited in the underworld."

"You!" Xie Song's vision went dark, and he leaned against the wall, barely able to stand firm. "I'll tell you... I'll tell you everything..."

After an incense stick of time, Su Cheng came out of the prison with her face covered. Cao Shanwei followed behind her, wanting to say something but stopping himself.

Su Cheng noticed his strangeness and looked at him with a frown, "Brother Cao, if you have something to say, just say it."

Hearing this, Cao Shanwei chuckled and scratched his head helplessly, "Madam, is Brother Xie's injury fully healed?"

Su Cheng smiled and said gently, "Thank you, Brother Cao, for your concern. Xie Ming has woken up now, but his injuries haven't fully healed yet, so he needs some more time to recuperate."

"God bless you, it's good that you've woken up, it's good that you've woken up..." Cao Shanwei felt relieved and said, "I'll take the young lady back right away."

Su Cheng stopped him and smiled, "Brother Cao, please stay. I still have some things to do. I'll go home when I'm done."

"Ah...that's fine!" Cao Shanwei smiled brightly and watched her leave, walking towards the market.

It wasn't until Su Cheng's figure disappeared around the corner that Cao Shanwei sighed, "How could such a beautiful woman like a fairy marry that bastard Xie Song!"

After he finished speaking, he turned around and wanted to go back to the government office, but was blocked by a tall figure.

Xie Ming slowly walked from the darkness to his front, looking from the top of his head to his feet, with a flash of mockery in his eyes.

Seeing Su Cheng secretly going out alone, he felt suspicious and followed him secretly, but he didn't expect to see the two of them chatting and laughing.

"You and Su..."

"Thank you, Brother Four! Why are you here?"

Before Xie Ming could open his mouth to question him, Cao Shanwei grabbed his arm and looked at him with concern. "My wife and I just asked you, why did you come out when your injuries weren't fully healed?"

Xie Ming was stunned for a moment. He had no memory of what happened before and had no idea who the man in front of him was.

"I should have been the one to visit you. Why are you here? Well, blame my stupid brain!" Cao Shanwei's face flashed with shame, and he sighed. "You saved my life and then you were poisoned and unconscious, and I haven't come to visit you these past few days. It's really too much! It's just a coincidence that you're here today, brother. Come on, Brother Cao will take you to the restaurant to eat some meat and replenish your body!"

Xie Ming didn't like the other person getting close to him, so he broke away from him without leaving a trace. In order not to arouse suspicion, he could only frown and call out "Brother", "Brother Cao, Su...what is my sister-in-law doing in the county jail?"

Cao Shanwei looked puzzled, and a bit puzzled in his heart, but he still answered truthfully, "The young lady came to Lord Wang to plead with him, saying that you three brothers are not the Xie family's biological children, and Xie Song is the only one who knows the truth. She begged Lord Wang to allow her to go to the prison for interrogation."

"Although this breaks the rules, you don't know Lord Wang. He treats Scholar Xie like the apple of his eye. Since this matter concerns him, how could Lord Wang not agree? He ordered me to bring the young lady here." Cao Shanwei stared at him, his tone confused. "Didn't the young lady tell her family when she came out?"

Xie Ming ignored the question he raised, his body completely petrified, frozen in place, "We... are not the Xie family's biological children?"
