Chapter 76 So I Killed Her

Chapter 76 So I Killed Her

"hiss--"

Xie Ming was lying on the bed with his clothes on, his brows tightly furrowed, as if he was possessed by a nightmare. He suddenly sat up from the bed, breathing heavily, and a layer of cold sweat rose on his back.

"Oh, the scoundrel is awake." Du Heng spat, spat out the melon seed shells in his mouth, glared at him fiercely, and spoke in a bad tone.

Xie Ming raised his eyes, his expression somewhat dazed, his head aching, "Master Du...what do you mean by that?"

"Don't let me tease you and then spit it out!" Du Heng slapped his thigh and stood up from the stool in anger. "Good boy, it's my fault for being so short-sighted that I didn't realize you had some talent as a gangster!"

Xie Ming's pure eyes were filled with confusion, and he didn't understand what he was saying at all. "Didn't I pass out after blocking a poisonous arrow for Brother Cao? What a scoundrel... Mr. Du, please speak frankly."

"Are you pretending to have amnesia again?" Du Heng smacked his lips, his face displeased. "Then do you still remember how you almost strangled Ah Cheng to death after you woke up?"

"Me?" Xie Ming was shocked and pointed at himself. "I... hurt her?"

"If it's not you, then could it be me?" Du Heng sneered, "You're really good at pretending, falling into your sister-in-law's arms. What else can you be but a scoundrel? I can't calm my anger without scolding you!"

"I..." Xie Ming looked panicked, sitting on the bed in a daze, unresponsive.

"You should reflect on this! Your third brother made his old illness come back because of you being angry with him." The old man snorted coldly, put his hands behind his back, turned around and left the room, leaving him alone in the room to doubt his life.

"Mom, here are some freshly washed wild fruits." Xie Cuicui ran into the house with her short legs, placed a plate of bright red fruits on the table, and smiled broadly. "I'll go boil some water for you to take a bath."

Without waiting for Su Cheng to speak, he ran out in a hurry, not forgetting to close the door considerately.

Su Cheng was helpless, shook his head and chuckled, "This kid is so busy that he doesn't even feel tired."

The next moment, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in." Su Cheng took a wooden comb and combed her long hair back, taking off her earrings while saying, "Did you forget something?"

The door creaked and no one answered for a long time.

"Why aren't you talking?" Su Cheng thought it was Xie Cuicui, so he turned sideways and met Xie Ming's lowered gaze.

"You..." Su Cheng stood up suddenly, using the table to block most of his body, with a defensive look on his face, "What are you doing here?"

Could it be that there is a problem with the system again, and Xie Ming from his previous life never went back?

Seeing her reaction so big, Xie Ming knew that Mr. Du was not teasing him, "I..."

Just by hearing him say one word, Su Cheng saw the man bend his legs and kneel straight towards her.

"Sister-in-law, punish me."

"What are you doing?" Su Cheng was startled by his actions and hurried over to help him, frowning. "Where would you put your face if others saw you?"

"I made a mistake, so I must be punished." Xie Ming's posture was graceful, and he slowly raised his eyes. Although he was in a low position, the aggression hidden in his eyes could not be concealed at all. "Sister-in-law, if you are angry, you can hit me or scold me. I just ask sister-in-law, don't be afraid of me."

Xie Ming showed weakness and opened his wet eyes, looking at her without blinking, like an abandoned puppy, which made people feel sorry for him.

"You...get up first." Su Cheng grabbed his wrist and pulled him up with force.

Xie Ming lowered his eyebrows and stood up obediently, closing the distance between them without leaving any trace. "Sister-in-law, I had a dream."

"What... dream?" Su Cheng looked up at the sound and realized that the two of them were so close to each other. He subconsciously wanted to step back.

Xie Ming reached out and put his hand on her waist to prevent her from bumping into the corner of the table. "It was a very long dream. In the dream, Xie Chen and Cuicui were sold by my sister-in-law, and my third brother's life-saving money was also stolen by my sister-in-law. Later, Ganping County was hit by a flood, and the three of us brothers were forced to separate."

While speaking, Xie Ming kept staring into her eyes, never looking away.

Su Cheng looked back at him, his expression a little unnatural, "What happened next..."

"I keep telling myself that my sister-in-law has changed, that the one in my dream was fake, and that she would never treat us like this, no matter what." Xie Ming smiled, reaching behind her waist and gently stroking her clothes. "I've been stuck in that dream, unable to wake up, falling into a loop again and again, watching that imposter cause trouble and tear the Xie family apart over and over again."

"So, you killed her?"

"So, I killed her."

They both spoke at the same time and were both startled.

Xie Ming came back to his senses first. He had always been unruly, but he was willing to smile gently at the person in front of him, "Only in this way can I see my sister-in-law again."

Su Cheng's heart was stirred. He kept his distance and said softly, "Dreams are always the opposite."

"Of course it's the other way around." Xie Ming murmured with his eyes lowered. He gently lifted a strand of her hair and tucked it behind her ear. Looking at the woman's fair and tender face, the corners of his lips curled slightly. "I asked Xie Chen before I came here. Big Brother failed the beautiful woman and was imprisoned for his mistakes. He promised you freedom."

"We are no longer uncle and sister-in-law. From now on, can I call you Ah Cheng like my second brother?"

Su Cheng's eyes flashed with surprise and doubt. After a moment's pause, he said, "It's just a name. Please feel free to do as you please."

It's not good to favor one over the other.

"Okay." Xie Ming pursed his lips, revealing a hint of a smile, and called out in a deep voice, "Ah Cheng."

Su Cheng's cheeks flushed, and she raised her hand to push him away, "Get out, I have something else to do."

Xie Ming looked at her profile and let her push him out. He didn't turn around with a smile until the door of the west room was closed.

Immediately, his eyes met with his third brother who was leaning against the door frame of the east room.

The corners of Xie Ming's mouth twitched slightly. Somehow, he always felt guilty as if he had done something wrong. "Third brother..."

Xie Jinyu crossed her arms, the corners of her mouth raised slightly, and she spoke in a casual tone, "A Ming, you've really made it."

Xie Ming was slightly startled, then smiled at him after coming to his senses, "Third brother, I don't understand what you said."

"I was only concerned about my second brother before, but I didn't expect to overlook you." Xie Jinyu raised his eyebrows casually, his posture was lazy, and there was no smile in his eyes. "In the future, we brothers will see what happens."

The corners of Xie Ming's mouth dropped, and he looked at him steadily, refusing to give in.

"Where is Su Cheng?"

A woman's voice was heard outside the yard, and the door of the west room was opened. Su Cheng raised his eyes and saw the two brothers looking at each other in a strange atmosphere.

"Why are you just staring at each other without saying anything?" Su Cheng's eyes flashed with suspicion, and he frowned and asked, "Open the gate."

Xie Ming nodded, strode to the door, and just as he opened it, a light yellow figure rushed in and headed straight for the woman standing in the yard.

"Su Cheng!"

Seeing the girl in front of him, Su Cheng was a little surprised and confused, "Miss Wang...how did you find time to come here?"
