Chapter 79: Catching an adulterer
"hiss--"
The cold copper plate pressed against his skin, causing him to shiver slightly.
Xie Jinyu couldn't believe her ears. She glanced at the copper coins scattered on her chest, then looked up at Su Cheng and murmured, "How many men have you treated like this?"
Su Cheng didn't want to listen to him. She pouted and was about to kiss him again, but the person under her turned his face away.
Xie Jinyu's palms were full of sweat. She had never been so nervous in the past twenty years.
I can't let her do whatever she wants anymore...
If it were like just now, with the beauty in his arms, he didn't know if he could control himself.
Su Cheng's eyes were blurry, and dissatisfaction was almost written on his face. "What are you doing? Didn't I give you money?"
Xie Jinyu's heart hardened. He hugged her in his arms and wrapped her tightly with the quilt. "Ah Cheng, be obedient. If I do something I shouldn't do today, I'm afraid I'll really be out."
Su Cheng was drunk and didn't understand what he said. She just blinked her wet eyes at him, looking soft, cute and harmless.
Cold sweat broke out on Xie Jinyu's forehead. She forced herself to calm down and wanted to leave, but her hand was still holding her sleeve.
"Acheng, let go."
"don't want."
Su Cheng couldn't move, but he didn't loosen his grip at all. Under the influence of alcohol, he became very lustful.
Xie Jinyu stared at her bitterly, wanting to cry but having no tears.
If Ah Cheng was sober right now, he wouldn't need to worry about it.
He is not a monk, how can he remain calm when a woman is in his arms?
But Ah Cheng grabbed the sleeve of his inner shirt, and he couldn't run back into the house naked.
"Don't go..." Su Cheng's eyelids became heavier, but his hands still stubbornly grasped his sleeves.
Xie Jinyu sighed, her eyes full of doting, her voice low and pleasant, "I won't leave, you can sleep peacefully."
The whole night passed without him getting any sleep. Su Cheng had a normal sleeping posture and kicked off the quilt in the middle of the night. She either hugged his waist or put her arms around his legs.
He suspected that he was being played by Ah Cheng, but he had no evidence.
At noon, he had just closed his eyes when he suddenly heard a woman's panicked scream from beside him.
"Ah——" Su Cheng's face changed drastically. She raised her little foot and kicked him to the ground.
Xie Jinyu hadn't slept all night and was already in a bad mood. Now he was kicked again, he was so angry that he couldn't help coughing softly.
Su Cheng's face turned pale. He covered himself with the quilt and looked at him with wide eyes, "Why are you in my bed?"
Xie Jinyu rubbed her aching lower back, feeling wronged. "Why am I in your bed? Doesn't Ah Cheng know that?"
"How would I know—" Before he could finish his sentence, the memory of last night's drunkenness flooded into his mind.
Seeing her expression gradually become stiff, Xie Jinyu knew that she had remembered. He turned his head away awkwardly and said in a deep voice, "Am I only worth a few copper coins in your eyes?"
Su Cheng turned off the engine and glanced at him angrily, wishing he could find a crack in the ground to crawl into. "The ground is cold, you get up first."
Xie Jinyu propped himself up with his arms, straightened his outer robe, his eyes were dark blue, and he walked out in silence.
Seeing him about to leave, Su Cheng subconsciously asked, "Where are you going?"
"Go make some sobering soup for the drunk." Xie Jinyu must have been very angry. Her voice sounded muffled and not as lively as usual.
"Madam, thank you for the letter from the scholar!"
The messenger's voice sounded outside the door.
"Just give it to me."
Xie Ming's voice followed, and a few breaths later, there was a knock on the door of the west room. The tall and thin figure of a man appeared on the door, "Ah Cheng, this is a letter from my second brother."
Just across the door stood his third brother.
"You can't leave!" Su Cheng reacted almost instantly, got out of bed barefoot, and without even bothering to put on shoes, grabbed Xie Jinyu's clothes and pulled him back to the bed.
"Why...why can't I leave?" Xie Jinyu was confused. "Am I afraid of my own brother?"
He is not the adulterer that Ah Cheng is hiding, so why should he hide?
"You stay here first." Su Cheng pressed his shoulders without saying anything and stuffed him under the bed, not forgetting to remind him, "Don't make any noise, do you hear me!"
She loves cleanliness and cleans her room every day, even under the bed, so there is no choking dust.
"I..." Xie Jinyu was about to open her mouth to argue, but when she saw Su Cheng's eyes, she shut her mouth wisely and lay down under the bed. The more she thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt.
Something unknown was pressing against her lower back. Xie Jinyu turned around and saw the bag that Su Cheng had hidden under the bed to use for escape.
"Ah Cheng?"
The door of the west room was opened from the inside. Xie Ming slowly raised his eyes, not missing the panic that flashed across her eyes.
Su Cheng nervously straightened her clothes, as if something urgent had happened. Her green jacket was tangled on her body, and her eyes were a little erratic. "So early in the morning, what...what's going on?"
"A letter from my second brother." Xie Ming handed her the envelope, sizing her up suspiciously before looking towards the room behind her. "Who was Ah Cheng talking to just now? Was there anyone in the room?"
"I'm the only one in the room, how could there be anyone else?" Su Cheng laughed dryly, a guilty look flashing in his eyes, "You must have heard it wrong."
Xie Ming looked at her expression and frowned slightly.
He has practiced martial arts for many years. Apart from other things, his eyesight and hearing have always been very good. How could he have heard it wrong?
Not knowing what he was thinking of, Xie Ming's body stiffened. He slowly turned his head and looked towards the house opposite.
He seemed... to have not seen his third brother since he woke up.
"I haven't washed up yet. Do you have anything else to do?" Su Cheng felt guilty and couldn't help shaking. She wished he would leave quickly.
There is a time bomb hidden under the bed. I am attacked from both sides and can’t hold on any longer.
"I made you some hangover soup." Xie Ming looked at her inconspicuously, his tone quiet, "I saw you drunk yesterday. I bet you'll feel uncomfortable after waking up from a sleep. I'll bring it to you."
"No..." Su Cheng subconsciously wanted to refuse, but Xie Ming didn't stop her at all. He turned and went to the kitchen in a hurry.
Su Cheng was stunned for a moment, and his heart skipped a beat.
The kitchen and the west room were only a few dozen steps away. Xie Ming had long legs and took big steps, so Xie Jinyu would definitely not be able to run out in such a short time.
It’s all my fault for being so greedy. I just wanted to drink for no reason!
Obviously, everything happened, but it was made to look like a scene of adultery.
At this point, I can only bite the bullet and coax Xie Ming away.
Xie Ming placed the soup on the table, stirring it with a spoon. "This is a hangover-refreshing soup, drink it slowly and don't burn your mouth."
Su Cheng glanced under the bed. It was quiet there and he didn't know what the person inside was doing.
"Ah Cheng?"
"Ah... okay." Su Cheng looked at the still steaming soup, his heart sank. "I will definitely drink it all. During the time you were unconscious, Uncle Liu has been helping to take care of the land at home. Now that you are free, come and take a look."
Xie Ming twitched the corners of his lips slightly, seemingly unintentionally saying, "No rush, it's not time for breakfast yet. I made some rice porridge, and I'll go after we eat."
Let him think about it, where can someone hide in such a small house?
Xie Ming held his face with one hand and scanned the furnishings in the room one by one, his eyes as sharp as a knife.
The tea table, the wardrobe... and under the bed.
