Chapter 83 My Ah Cheng did it
"Su Cheng, I've given you enough respect, so don't be so presumptuous!"
Anger welled up in Zhao Hu's heart, and he slammed his palm on the table. "In the whole world, except for the emperor, no one has ever been treated like this by me."
Su Cheng looked at him quietly, and was not moved by his condemnation. "If you are sincere, I am willing to respond. I can tell whether it is true or false."
"You!" Zhao Hu was furious, but he had to suppress his anger. "Su Cheng, don't be ungrateful. The reason I could tell at a glance that your uncle, the third son of the Xie family, was not a biological son of the Xie family was because he bore an 80% resemblance to an old friend of mine. If I hadn't acted as a matchmaker, you would never have met him."
Su Cheng's eyes flashed with a dark light. After pondering for a moment, he raised his head and looked at him, "When will Lord Zhao return to the capital?"
Upon hearing this, Zhao Hu finally showed a smile on his face.
A quarter of an hour later, Su Cheng came out of the private room.
Seeing that she looked a little dazed, Xie Ming hurried over to her, "Ah Cheng...what's wrong with you?"
"I'm fine, let's go." Su Cheng glanced at Shao Dong calmly, pulled his sleeve and went downstairs.
Xie Ming knew that this was not a good time to speak, so he could only swallow the words on his lips and follow Su Cheng like a little tail.
As the sun set in the west, Su Cheng went to an embroidery shop, placed the handkerchief she had brought on the table, and whispered, "Would you like some?"
The shopkeeper sitting behind the counter didn't even raise his head. He scratched his ear with his little finger and asked nonchalantly, "Where are you from?"
"Xinghua Village."
"Why are you here again?" The shopkeeper got furious when he heard about Xinghua Village. "I told you clearly this morning that we don't accept anything from Xinghua Village. Why are you still here?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he threw a dagger on the counter.
The shopkeeper was startled by the sudden appearance of the knife, and panic was unconcealable in his eyes. "What...what are you going to do?"
Xie Ming's eyes revealed danger. His nails touched the handle of the knife, his eyes cold. "I only ask you, are you going to take it or not?"
"I..." The shopkeeper hid behind the counter, trembling with fear. "Young man, it's not that I don't want to accept it. Look at my tiny shop, how could I not accept something that can make money? I really don't dare to accept it because of the order from above!"
The next moment, a servant in plain clothes ran over from the backyard and whispered something in her ear. The shopkeeper's face suddenly changed, and then he smiled. "That's all right, gentlemen. I'll take all these handkerchiefs! As many as you want, I'll give you the best price!"
Xie Ming's heart sank when he saw the change in the woman, and he glanced at Su Cheng's profile.
"There are forty-seven handkerchiefs in total. I'll give you five cents for each. How about that?"
Su Cheng nodded slightly, his expression showing no emotion, "Give me the money."
"Okay." The shopkeeper settled the bill and politely sent the two of them out.
"Hey, they're here—"
As soon as they left the market, they saw people from Xinghua Village rushing over, some of them holding weapons, and surrounding the two of them.
"Uncle Liu...Aunt?" Su Cheng's face flashed with surprise. He looked around and asked softly, "Why are you all here?"
"Look up, it's already dark. You and Ah Ming haven't come home yet. How can I not be worried?" Aunt Liu hurriedly took Su Cheng's hand and looked her up and down. "Child, are you hurt? Did that person give you any trouble? Don't be afraid, the villagers are here to support you."
Seeing Aunt Liu's nervous expression, Su Cheng's eyes became a little sore and he shook his head gently, "I'm fine, don't worry, Aunt."
"You, child, you won't tell anyone about your sufferings and difficulties." Aunt Liu's face showed pity, and her eyes couldn't help but redden. "Let's go home."
The crowd gathered together, surrounding Su Cheng and walking towards the village.
Xie Ming walked at the end, and looking at Su Cheng chatting and laughing with others, he couldn't help feeling a little sad.
When they arrived at Xie's house, all the villagers had dispersed, and then Xie Ming called her back.
"Ah Cheng."
Su Cheng looked back at the sound, a faint smile still on his face, looking completely carefree. "What's wrong?"
Xie Ming looked down at her, his thin lips pressed into a straight line. "What did you promise Zhao Hu? Why did the owner of the embroidery shop change his attitude towards us?"
The smile on Su Cheng's lips faded a little, and he raised his eyebrows and replied, "This is not something you should worry about."
"How can I trust you if you won't say anything?" Xie Ming frowned, his tall figure blocking out most of the moonlight, forcing people to look directly at him. "If you have to sacrifice yourself to save everyone, I'd rather rush into the pawnshop and fight Zhao Hu to the death."
Seeing the gloom in his eyes, Su Cheng paused before speaking slowly, "In a month, I will go to the capital with him. As long as I help him deal with those blood-sucking bugs of the Zhao family, he can give me what I want."
Xie Ming looked at her dimly, his brows furrowed. "What do you want?"
Gold, silver, jewelry, silk and satin are not things she likes.
"Your third brother's life experience."
Xie Ming was stunned. He watched Su Cheng's pink lips move, but he didn't hear a single word. It took him a long while to find his voice. "Third brother... isn't my parents' biological son?"
The next moment, a muffled sound came from behind the door.
The two people outside the door turned around at the same time and saw Xie Jinyu with a dazed look on his face. He dropped the broom in his hand to the ground. His dark eyes stared at Su Cheng without blinking, as if waiting for her answer, "I'm not a child of the Xie family?"

Tengyue Mountain
"Xie Xiucai, the further we go in, the thicker the fog becomes."
Sun Po looked at the thick fog ahead, his face filled with worry. Even the horse under his crotch was unwilling to move forward. "What the hell is this weather?"
"It's late at night, and the mountain roads are difficult to walk on. Why don't we settle down first?" Xie Suzhou's voice was low and pleasant, comforting the dozen or so men around him. "There's no way to go down the mountain, so I can only inconvenience you to sleep in the mountains."
"Well, we're a bunch of rough guys, following our master through thick and thin. We've endured all kinds of hardships." Sun Po looked at Xie Suzhou's thin figure with a bitter expression. "But you, Mr. Xie, the mountains are damp and there are mosquitoes. Even sleeping in the car won't stop it. Can you bear it? My husband has told us to take good care of you."
"Brothers can hold on, and so can I." Xie Suzhou nodded, a faint smile on his lips, and said softly, "Don't worry about me, stop and eat some dry food first."
His family prepared a lot of dry food for him, which he certainly couldn't finish by himself.
"Take these breads." Xie Suzhou handed out the extra dry food with a smile on his face. "Although they are not white flour breads, they can barely fill our stomachs."
"Xie Xiucai is such a good man." Sun Po took the cakes and distributed them to his brothers. He was already very hungry, but the dry food was only a little bit, and there was still a month's journey ahead, so he had to eat sparingly and save as much as possible from the money given by the young master.
Sun Po opened his mouth wide and took a bite of the pancake. Suddenly his eyes lit up, "Xie Xiucai, there's an egg in this pancake!"
From the outside, it looks like just an ordinary mixed flour pancake, but when you take a bite, the egg inside is salty and doesn't stick to your throat.
Xie Suzhou nodded slightly, the corners of his lips unconsciously raised, "My Ah Cheng made it, she is always skillful."
