Liu Meiling suddenly stood up, her face deathly pale. "Security! Someone come quick and get these two lunatics out of here!"
"You want to kick us out?" Bai Yajing sneered, then pulled out a stack of documents from her bundle.
"Look at this! Here is a joint statement from Meiling's high school classmates and former colleagues in the cultural troupe—you are not Liu Meiling!"
She is!
The students present were in an uproar. Some began to whisper among themselves, while others looked at their newly elected Minister of Arts with suspicion.
'Liu Meiling'—no, Qian Fangfang's lips began to tremble, her meticulously manicured nails digging deeply into her palms.
She suddenly grabbed a teacup from the table and threw it at Bai Yajing: "Get out! You country bumpkins can't stand to see others doing well!"
Liu Meiling instinctively stepped in front of Bai Yajing. The incident happened so suddenly that even though Bai Yajing reacted quickly and pulled her away, the teacup still hit her shoulder, and the hot water soaked through her blue shirt.
The pain brought her to her senses, and her pent-up resentment and anger finally erupted: "You bitch! Do you know how I've been these past few months? People in the village said I was delusional, that I was overestimating myself by wanting to go to university... I almost got sick from all the anger about it... And you, you're here enjoying the life that should be mine!"
Her voice was choked yet firm, tears streaming down her cheeks, but she no longer flinched. More and more students gathered inside and outside the stadium, some of them pointing and whispering.
"Oh my god, she was an imposter..."
"No wonder I always felt she lacked cultural background..."
"This is terrifying! Isn't this ruining someone's life?"
Qian Fangfang trembled all over, tears streaming uncontrollably down her face. She looked around at the people in horror.
Bai Yajing, however, would not let her off easily.
She scoffed, "Now you know how to cry? Didn't you think about the consequences when you stole someone else's acceptance letter?"
She was still waiting; she had just asked Wang Xiaomei to call over a school leader who could uphold justice.
Looking at her enemy, who had just been so arrogant, now cowering on the ground trembling, Liu Meiling felt a mix of emotions.
She didn't come to see Qian Fangfang make a fool of herself; she just wanted to reclaim the life that was rightfully hers.
"What's going on?" A dignified voice came from behind the crowd. The students automatically made way for a middle-aged man with graying temples, wearing a badge that read "Vice Principal" on his chest.
"Principal Wang!" Qian Fangfang rushed over as if grasping at a straw. "These two people are slandering me! You have to stand up for me!"
Vice Principal Wang frowned at the scene before him: "What exactly happened?"
Liu Meiling took a deep breath and stepped forward: "Principal Wang, my name is Liu Meiling. I was admitted to the Performance Department of the Central Academy of Drama in the college entrance examination, but my admission notice was altered by this person—" She pointed to Qian Fangfang, "She colluded with people in the county admissions office to tamper with it. She also took my admission notice!"
She's been going to school here using my name, and I... I thought I'd failed the exam.
As she spoke, she handed the evidence she had just taken out and the letter of testimony jointly written by her classmates to Vice Principal Wang with both hands.
Vice Principal Wang quickly scanned the materials, his expression growing increasingly grave. He looked up at Qian Fangfang: "Liu, these accusations are very serious. Do you have anything to say?"
Qian Fangfang's lips trembled, and her eyes darted around uncertainly.
She was still struggling; she didn't want her hard-earned university spot to just disappear like that.
She had used up all the connections and favors her father had left her to get this spot, and the person she chose was the woman who seemed to have a good relationship with Bai Yajing that day. She was deliberately trying to annoy Bai Yajing!
But if she gives up now, she will have nothing!
She doesn't want to go back! She doesn't want to go to the countryside!
