Chapter 473 Successful Arrival (2/2)

With a loud bang, the crackling sound of electricity in the headphones quickly subsided.

Bai Yajing smiled and acted as if nothing had happened, immediately setting sail back to the group.

When the old man saw this scene in the room, he shook his head and chuckled, showing no intention of blaming her.

From that day on, everything went smoothly, and it only took about twenty days to reach the destination.

The fleet arrived at the port, and a somewhat tired Bai Yajing followed the flow of people out of the dock. This time, she was disembarked with the old man, his two children, three bodyguards, and several skilled businessmen who had accompanied the old man in his business dealings.

Everyone else stayed on the ship to wait.

In an instant, a tremendous roar and spectacle engulfed her.

Faces of all skin colors, rapid foreign language broadcasts, dazzling colors on huge billboards, and unfamiliar perfume and cigarette smells in the air... everything made her dizzy.

She clutched her passport and entry documents tightly, her palms sweaty.

When she passed through customs, the immigration officer looked at her visa, which was stamped with an official seal, and asked a few routine questions.

She had her grandfather rehearse with her several times beforehand, but the other party's rapid-fire questions with a slight accent still made her stumble twice. Fortunately, she had a good foundation and quick reflexes, and she still managed to pass. The moment the entry stamp was put on her passport, she truly felt that she had arrived in Country A.

The others who followed her quickly completed the customs procedures.

They left this area and got into the car.

“Darling, let’s take you to school to register first. Then I’ll take them to buy a house and settle down there first.”

Bai Yajing was a little worried. "Grandpa, don't you need me to come with you?"

The old man waved his hand and said, "Don't worry, those who follow me are the people who accompanied their fathers and me all over the country back then. This little thing is no problem for us."

I've lived here for a few years, I know it very well. You just focus on your studies!

Bai Yajing nodded upon hearing this. "Okay, call me once you've decided!"

"Okay, okay!"

Although the two children were reluctant to be separated from their mother, they were very sensible and knew what they should and shouldn't do.

"Mom, you're going to school alone in an unfamiliar place, so please take good care of yourself!"

"Yes, the holidays are coming soon, Mom, let's celebrate the New Year together!"

Bai Yajing smiled and pinched the two children's cheeks. "Good! Be good with your great-grandfather!"

"Yes, we will!"

The old man dropped her off at her destination and then led his men to take care of the business.

She arrived at the medical school and affiliated hospital where she would be pursuing her studies. These were chosen for her by both Grandpa Gao and Grandpa Qian.

Stepping out of the car and into the hospital, I was immediately struck by the overwhelming cultural and technological impact.

The huge complex of buildings was bright and clean, with corridors so wide that several cots could be parked side by side.

The air was filled with the strong smell of disinfectant, but it was different from the familiar smell of hospitals in China, mixed with a faint fragrance of coffee and some kind of cleaning agent.

The hospital was spacious and bright, beautifully decorated, with clean carpets. Medical staff moved quickly but in an orderly manner. Computer terminals were everywhere—something unimaginable in hospitals in China.

She was truly shocked by what she saw. Was this the difference?

She asked her way to the mentor that Mr. Gao had chosen for her—a tall, over fifty-year-old Professor Power.

The professor's office was filled with books and journals, and the walls were covered with complex anatomical diagrams and academic certificates.

The computer screen flashing green characters was something extremely new to her.

The professor took her letter of recommendation, read it, shook her hand warmly, and said a series of welcoming words. Professor Willie spoke very quickly, and she could only catch about 80 or 90 percent of what he said. Fortunately, her spoken English was good, and she was able to communicate with him smoothly.
