Chapter 341 Turning the Tables (1/2)

Bai Yajing sipped the tea her apprentice had brewed, leisurely watching them search inside, as if they weren't searching her office.

Seeing how relaxed she was, everyone knew what was going on.

"I knew it! The higher-ups in our department treat Dr. Bai like one of their own juniors. There was really no need for her to go to such lengths!"

"That's right, it was only a matter of time!"

The group spoke in tacit terms, but they all understood what the other was saying.

Bai Yajing was not surprised by their opinions at all.

The reputation she's built up in the hospital over the years hasn't been for nothing.

Furthermore, the medicine she developed remains irreplaceable to this day. Even the most important ingredient is the one she cultivated the most of and the best of.

Every year, this income alone is enough for other families to eat and drink.

She goes to work purely out of interest and to improve her medical skills.

Captain Hu searched the area but found nothing unusual, so he stopped.

"Nothing suspicious was found. Let's move to another office."

No sooner had he said that than Dr. Sun couldn't contain his impatience.

"etc!"

His behavior was something that everyone had roughly guessed.

Bai Yajing stood up and patted the wrinkles off her clothes.

She looked at him with a half-smile. "What's wrong, Dr. Sun? Everyone has searched, but they haven't found anything that shouldn't be there. Are you disappointed?"

Dr. Sun met her gaze, his eyes filled with a chilling coldness.

At this moment, his heart was in turmoil. He had clearly put that thing into the compartment last night!

He knew what Captain Hu and his team were capable of, but he had just witnessed Captain Hu dismantle the desk and searched the compartment but found nothing!

He discovered the compartments on the hospital desks by chance; his own desk was the same.

The things that were supposed to be there are nowhere to be found! Has a ghost appeared?

He put it in there himself last night!

He forced a stiff smile. "No, it's just... that document is too important, and I'm still worried..."

Captain Hu glanced at him, inwardly mocking him.

"Dr. Sun, we have just searched the entire office, even dismantled the desks, but we didn't find those documents. It seems that Dr. Bai really didn't take them."

Zhou Lin straightened his back, looking incredibly smug. "That's right! You said you wanted to search, and we've already let you search. Since you couldn't find it, then it wasn't my master who took it."

"Let's not waste any more time, let's look in the next office. Otherwise, the director will have to rummage through the trash again!"

Dr. Sun choked, seeing everyone's agreement, he knew there was no way to resolve the matter today. He forced out a few words through gritted teeth, "Fine! Let's go!"

Captain Hu waved his hand, and the people who came with him quickly went to the next office.

It happened to be Zhou Lin's.

Another round of searching, but still no luck.

They searched the entire surgical office but couldn't find it; only the last one remained.

They stood at the door of Dr. Sun's office and all turned to look at him.

Dr. Sun's face was ashen, but he still took out his key and opened the door.

Go!

Today's events were strange in every way, and he was no longer in the mood to fool around with them.

He only wanted to cut the Gordian knot and get this farce over once and for all.

Captain Hu led his men inside. Practice makes perfect, and by the time it came to Dr. Sun, they were already quite skilled.

His eyes lit up when he found the box hidden deepest in the bookcase.

"Found it!"

Upon hearing this, everyone gathered around.

Dr. Sun's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly squeezed in.

"What did you find?"
