Chapter 397 Imposter (2/2)

He also expressed deep sympathy for Liu Meiling's plight. After studying so hard for so long to change her fate, her efforts were stolen by a thief. No one would be happy about that!

After the three of them discussed it, they went to the gymnasium together to attend the welcome party.

Because the three of them were carrying identification tags from the Kyoto newspaper, they had no trouble getting through the journey.

The gymnasium was packed with people, all with happy faces. They had been spending several days together, and now they were chatting in twos and threes in the square, waiting for the school leaders to come and speak.

Liu Meiling whispered in Bai Yajing's ear, "Yajing, I applied to the acting department. Let's go ask the people in the acting department first..."

Bai Yajing nodded slightly and asked a cute and lively girl.

"Hello, students. We are reporters from the Kyoto newspaper. We are here to interview the new students about their experience of entering university."

I heard that a female student in the Performing Arts Department who used to work in the Kyoto Military Region Cultural Troupe is also a freshman this year, and we would like to interview her.

Her name is Liu Meiling, she's a classmate. Could you help us get there?

The little girl was quite happy to hear what Bai Yajing said at first, but when Bai Yajing mentioned Liu Meiling's name, her expression became somewhat complicated.

"Liu Meiling? From the performing arts department? She used to be in the military arts troupe? I didn't realize that..."

Liu Meiling noticed this and her heart skipped a beat. What had that woman done to elicit this expression from her classmates upon hearing her name?

Suppressing her unease, she asked the little girl with some urgency.

"Yes, it's her. Is there something wrong with her?"

Bai Yajing noticed it too, and she pretended to be puzzled, asking, "What's wrong, classmate? We specifically chose her for this feature, is there something wrong with her?"

The little girl pouted, lifted her eyelids, and muttered under her breath, "Well, your taste is really terrible!"

Bai Yajing's eyes flickered slightly, her face showing suspicion. "Huh? Classmate, what did you say?"

The girl next to the little girl had all heard this. She tugged at the little girl and shook her head slightly, signaling her not to talk nonsense.

The little girl turned her head away, clearly unconvinced.

"I have to say, you guys have terrible taste! How could such a shallow and arrogant young lady be the subject of your special interview?"

We've been taking classes together for a few days now, and her acting has been terrible, plus her academic performance isn't great either. I don't understand how she even got in!

The little girl continued to grumble indignantly, almost calling Liu Meiling a good-for-nothing.

Her female classmate tried to tug and pull, but couldn't stop her little mouth from chattering away. She could only sigh helplessly, holding her forehead.

The real Liu Meiling, however, had a face as black as the bottom of a pot.

What is that woman trying to do? Knowing full well she's an imposter, why is she being so high-profile? Trying to ruin her reputation!

Bai Yajing coughed lightly, interrupting the girl's words, seemingly unaffected by her earlier remarks, and still determined to find Liu Meiling.

"Young lady, we can't judge someone's problem based on just your word. Could you please show us the way?"

Her words undoubtedly provoked the girl's rebellious spirit, and she glared angrily at Bai Yajing.

"You'll regret this! We share a dorm with her, and she's been giving us a hard time these past few days. If you still don't listen and let her be the subject of a special feature, there will definitely be problems in the future!"

Bai Yajing suppressed a laugh; it seemed this little girl really hated 'Liu Meiling'.

However, they were genuinely considering their feelings. After all, the feature article written by the Kyoto newspaper had a significant impact. If that person had moral flaws or even serious problems, it would also implicate them, since it was their fault for misjudging people.

"Thank you for considering our needs, but the arrangement from above is to interview her, and we can only give up if we are absolutely certain that she has a problem."

The little girl pondered for a moment and realized that what she said made sense.

"Alright then, I'll take you to her!"

"Okay, thanks, classmate!"

The two exchanged a glance, both delighted that they would soon be meeting the imposter.
