After returning to school, Wu Liu threw herself back into her studies.
The difference is that she no longer writes letters to Bai Jingxing.
Her friends found it strange, but they didn't say much, after all, it was her own business.
However, there was one exception.
"Liu Liu, why haven't we received any letters from Country A lately? Did you and your brother have a fight?"
The person asking the question was Wu Liu's roommate, named Shang Xiaoya, who was sweet and cute, and had a very lively and cheerful personality.
Wu Liu felt a little uncomfortable upon hearing this, and secretly clenched her hands, but didn't show it on her face. "Oh, it's nothing. I'm about to graduate, and my younger brother's studies over there are also very demanding, so I haven't written to him."
She's not stupid; she won't tell anyone about what's going on at home.
However, since her roommates had known her for a long time, it wasn't a secret in the dorm that she frequently received letters from her younger brother overseas.
Shang Xiaoya didn't believe it, even though she never showed them the letters or talked about family matters.
But she wasn't blind, and besides, her father had already given her information about everyone in the dormitory.
Others might not have noticed, but she was always observant, and she discovered that Wu Liu was always happy to receive the letter.
I happened to see her reading a letter once, and the expression on her face was not what you would expect from normal siblings.
Her eyes darted around, wondering if something had happened.
What a pity!
If they really get together, then her father's request for her to keep an eye on things and make it happen will be fulfilled.
"Oh, I see! I thought you two had a fight!"
Her face was full of mockery, which made Wu Liu tremble with fear.
She didn't want to say much, so she composed herself, calmly packed her books, and stood up. "I'm going to the library to study now, bye!"
Watching her departing figure, Shang Xiaoya's eyes narrowed slightly.
But Wu Liu did not go to the library after leaving the dormitory.
She was smart and cautious. After her mother told her about the importance of this matter, she became wary.
Her other friends respected her and didn't ask any questions, assuming it was just a normal interaction between siblings who were busy with their studies and didn't want to bother each other for the time being.
But Shang Xiaoya's attitude was very abrupt! This made her very uneasy.
She had no classes in the afternoon, so she simply went home and waited for her family to return.
The waiting was agonizing; the more she thought about it, the paler her face became. She felt like she had messed up...
I finally waited for my parents to come home.
She immediately knelt on the ground. "Dad, Mom, I think I've gotten into trouble!"
Bai Yajing and Xiao Che exchanged a glance, and both felt a sinking feeling in their hearts.
"Get up first and tell Mom and Dad what happened?"
Bai Yajing helped her up.
Wu Liu shared her analysis, and at the end, her eyes reddened as she looked up and asked, "Is there something wrong with her?"
Bai Yajing looked at Xiao Che and asked, "Are there any enemies of yours with the surname Shang?"
There is no one in her family with the surname Shang, so she needs to ask her husband.
Xiao Che was speechless for a moment.
After a long pause, he managed to say with difficulty, "Yes! I will investigate this matter thoroughly."
"Liu Liu, your mom will take you back to school later. Just continue living the way you always have, don't give yourself away!"
Wu Liu felt guilty and nervous, but she still obediently followed Bai Yajing and left.
After Bai Yajing dropped off the children and returned home, the couple went to the study and discussed things for most of the night.
"There was a promotion spot in the department. The higher-ups talked to me a few times and were very satisfied with me. I guess this is what caused the trouble."
