Chapter 64: Liking is one thing, responsibility is another (1/2)

"The dishes are all here, please enjoy yourselves."

After the waiter opened the lid, he pushed the food delivery cart away.

Gu Rongzheng was a man with a cold face but a thoughtful heart. During the meal, he first served Lu Mianmian a bowl of seafood porridge, and then picked up some fish for her before serving himself some rice.

"Well, this porridge is good. I heard that porridge is good for the stomach. Last time you had a stomachache, I remember the doctor said that you should eat more tonic food. We can come to this shop more often in the future."

He actually remembered these details so clearly. Lu Mianmian felt inexplicably sad, and the hand holding the coin paused.

Why, isn't she Jiang Tangtang? It's ridiculous. She has never liked Jiang Tangtang in her two lives, but for some reason she has fallen for her man.

This fate is really a joke.

"Yeah, sure. Their porridge is really delicious."

She didn't even raise her head as she spoke.

Gu Rongzheng suddenly remembered the last time he met her sister in the hospital.

Although the two sisters did not have a good relationship, they would definitely run into each other if they got married. Pretending not to know such a face would make him look like he had something to hide.

So he might as well say it first, so that at least he can feel at ease.

"By the way, Tangtang, I had a minor accident last month when I came back from a mission. When I was sending my comrades to the hospital, I ran into your sister. She..."

"What!" Lu Mianmian suddenly looked up, and the coin in her hand fell onto the porcelain plate, making a loud noise, but this sound was not as loud as the sound from her mouth.

"Why are you so excited? I know you two sisters don't have a great relationship, and I haven't spoken to her, but I just find it a little strange. She seems very different from what I found in the information, especially her medical skills."

The more she listened, the more anxious she became. Lu Mianmian could hardly sit still. Without even noticing, her brows had already been twisted together, and her lips were clenched tightly in anxiety.

Panic even rose in my heart.

What should she do? She told herself to stay calm and to get over it first, no matter what.

So he chuckled twice and picked up the box.

"Haha, what a coincidence! This imperial capital is still small. I haven't even run into her yet, but you did... So, did you see her face?"

Gu Rongzheng picked up a piece of cabbage with chopsticks and nodded.

"I guess so. Half her face was covered in blood, even her eyelids, but she didn't even blink."

Recalling the decisiveness of her sister when she drew her sword, Gu Rongzheng's eyes flashed with admiration.

In other words, Gu Rongzheng probably didn't see the mole, and Lu Mianmian's tense nerves relaxed a little.

"Is... is that so? Oh, you know I have amnesia and I don't remember anything from before. I guess she may have started working seriously because she no longer has the support of her family. After all, if she doesn't work, no one will support her, don't you think?"

"But it hasn't been long since your house was raided. Her skills and courage don't seem like they can be developed in just two or three months, right?"

"Maybe, yeah, but those were all things from the past. I don't remember them anymore."

Lu Mianmian always felt restless. In order to deal with Gu Rongzheng, she even found the delicious food in front of her tasteless.

The meal looked delicious, but she found it tasteless and bland.
