Chapter 86 I Want the Man in Black
When the people who came to drink tea heard the screams, they thought they would not hear any more today, so they were unwilling to wait any longer and directly shouted for the shopkeeper to compensate them. However, the shopkeeper seemed to have disappeared. After going into the dressing room, he never came out again.
Lin Xiaoyue had nothing to do and was very curious, so she pulled Liang Jingyao straight to the backstage.
The backstage was very simple, with just a dressing room and a changing room. There was no one in the dressing room, so Lin Xiaoyue went straight to the changing room.
Liang Jingyao was afraid of danger, so he protected Lin Xiaoyue behind him. The two of them took a defensive stance and approached the locker room step by step.
“Wow!”
Liang Jingyao used his sword to open the curtain, revealing the small dressing room at a glance.
Lin Xiaoyue leaned sideways and looked forward, only to see a middle-aged man lying on the ground with blood all over the floor. A man in black was holding a sword against the shopkeeper's neck, as if threatening him with something.
Acting on her sixth sense, Lin Xiaoyue leaned close to Liang Jingyao's ear and said, "Hurry up and save the shopkeeper!"
Liang Jingyao nodded and put down his sword. The curtain blocked Lin Xiaoyue outside the locker room. Lin Xiaoyue knew that she couldn't help much without any martial arts skills, so she stood outside and waited.
In the locker room, the man in black saw Liang Jingyao's imposing aura and took several steps back, grabbing the shopkeeper. "Who are you? I advise you to stay out of other people's business!"
Liang Jingyao snorted coldly, and when he opened his five fingers, five silver needles flew towards the man in black. The man in black was busy dodging and directly threw the shopkeeper out to block the silver needles.
“Shameless!”
Liang Jingyao performed a sword flower in the air, the silver needle changed direction and sank into the wall, and the shopkeeper fell into Liang Jingyao's hands.
The man in black realized that he had lost the shopkeeper, so he came over angrily to snatch him away, but how could Liang Jingyao be a vegetarian?
The two men fought for a long time in the small locker room. In the end, the man in black not only failed to capture the person, but was also captured alive by Liang Jingyao!
Liang Jingyao put his sword to the black-clad man's throat and shouted outside, "Yue'er, come in! We've caught him."
Lin Xiaoyue walked in and saw the trembling shopkeeper. She went over and asked, "Shopkeeper, why did this man hold you hostage? In broad daylight, how dare he do that?"
The shopkeeper said dejectedly, "How should I know? When I came in, I saw him kill my storyteller, and then he asked me to give him the teahouse. The teahouse is all my life. Without it, how will my family survive?"
Lin Xiaoyue found a stick and knocked the man in black unconscious. She said to the shopkeeper, "Shopkeeper, this place is too unsafe. If we hadn't come in, you might be dead now! I've left him here with you. It's up to you whether you want to report him to the authorities or not!"
"What's the point of reporting this to the authorities? I think the fabric he's wearing is either official silk or the kind used by wealthy families. If I report this to the authorities, I might end up in even worse trouble!" The shopkeeper plopped down on his knees before Liang Jingyao, begging with tears and snot, "Hero, could you please stay here and help me for a few days while I find a capable bodyguard? I can pay you!"
Lin Xiaoyue almost couldn't hold back her laughter. A small teahouse owner actually wanted the owner of Jueweilou to be his bodyguard and even paid him. No one would believe it if she told others about it.
She had originally planned to climb over the wall and enter the Yuanheng Inn at night. Her sixth sense told her that those people had simply booked all the inns but hadn't actually stayed there. Even if they did, it wouldn't be full! They simply wanted to force Liang Jingyao to either return to the valley or leave Yangming Town. Therefore, the gates of Yangming Town must be a solid barrier now. It's easier to get in than to leave!
Lin Xiaoyue was afraid that Liang Jingyao would refuse, so she immediately agreed, "Of course! We originally planned to come here to do business. Since the shopkeeper is in trouble, why wouldn't it be hard for us to help out for a few days? We don't care whether we get paid or not. Maybe we'll need the shopkeeper's help when we open a shop later!"
The manager happily stood up and fiercely kicked the man in black who had fallen to the ground. "You bastard, you actually killed my storyteller! Don't you know how hard it is for me to find a good storyteller? I won't be able to relieve the hatred in my heart unless I peel off a layer of skin from you today!"
Liang Jingyao had a hunch that this man in black was related to the hunt for Zhan Ying. He stepped forward to stop the shopkeeper and said, "Shopkeeper, please do me a favor and give me this man in black!"
The shopkeeper said reluctantly, "This... hero, he has no grudge against you, right? Why do you want him? I haven't avenged my storyteller yet!"
Lin Xiaoyue quickly stepped forward and interrupted, saying, "Boss, don't worry, you've lost a storyteller, right? I'll help you tell the story, how about you give him to us?"
The shopkeeper frowned and asked suspiciously, "Could it be that you deliberately killed my storyteller? Besides, how can a woman like you tell stories?"
Lin Xiaoyue wasn't angry. Taking the man away by herself would indeed easily cause misunderstandings. She bent down to pick up the sword on the ground, handed it to the shopkeeper, and said, "I don't want to waste any more time talking. How about you stab him three times with the sword, and then give the man to us?"
The shopkeeper looked at the sword in his hand and thought he might have misunderstood. He asked again, "Miss, can you tell a story? To be honest, a good storyteller is really hard to find, otherwise I wouldn't be so angry!"
Lin Xiaoyue thought that the Four Great Classics were so classic that if she just ordered any one of them, wouldn’t she be afraid of failing to whet the customers’ appetite?
She puffed out her chest and assured, "Don't worry, I can go today, but you have to guarantee us accommodation here."
The shopkeeper said with embarrassment, "Of course, it's possible, but there's only one room in the backyard. Is it convenient for you?"
Liang Jingyao took Lin Xiaoyue's hand and said, "Of course, we are husband and wife!"
Lin Xiaoyue's face flushed. They were obviously pretending to be a couple, but he spoke very well!
"Haha, that's right, don't worry, boss!"
The shopkeeper threw the sword to the ground and said, "I'll leave the man to you. As long as you don't cause any trouble, you can stay as long as you want! Come with me first!"
Liang Jingyao carried the man in black and followed closely.
The teahouse's backyard was large. The owner opened the west wing and said, "I originally reserved this room for my guests, so it's mostly empty. It's quite clean inside. You should all go in and get some rest! With everything going on today, there won't be many people coming over for tea or storytelling during the day. So, let's go in for the evening. You should get ready first!"
Lin Xiaoyue said gratefully, "Thank you, shopkeeper. I will not let you down tonight! But I'd also like to trouble you to get me a set of men's clothes."
The shopkeeper nodded and replied, "No problem, I'll get it to you in a minute. Also, my name is Ge Baoquan, you can call me Shopkeeper Ge. What are your names?"
Lin Xiaoyue instantly thought of two aliases for herself and Liang Jingyao, "My name is Lin Guihua, and his name is Lin Yongsheng."
After the shopkeeper left, Liang Jingyao grabbed the man in black and pierced his palm with a sword. Just as the man in black was about to scream, a dirty cloth was stuffed into his mouth: "Answer whatever I ask you. If you dare to scream, I will kill you!"
