“I knew it. If he doesn’t have a girl he likes, that’s fine. But if he does have one, he won’t let her down. Just like when he insisted on joining the army, none of us could stop him. Mrs. Xue then asked, "Should we tell your mother that Yanchen has a girlfriend?"

Mr. Xue brought over a bag of walnut cookies: "Mom, try them and see if they're good."
"It looks quite good, I hope it tastes good too." Grandma Xue picked up a piece and put it in her mouth. After chewing a few times, she was amazed and asked Grandpa Xue, "Where did you buy this? It tastes better than what you buy in department stores."
Mr. Xue didn't dare mention Luo Jingyan, so he could only say, "Yanchen bought this from over there and sent it over."
"Oh," the old lady responded, finished one piece, picked up another, and asked, "Is Yanchen coming back for the New Year?"
"He's not coming back; he's spending the New Year over there."
"Why don't you come back? You were too busy in the army before to come back, and now that you've been sent to the countryside, you're not allowed to come back?"

"Then send him some money so he can buy some more of these snacks and send them over."

Victory Brigade
Due to the heavy snow and unusually cold weather, almost everyone stayed indoors all day, trying to keep the heated brick bed as warm as possible.
Luo Jingyan wanted to take advantage of the fact that everyone was staying at home to take out one of the wild boars she had stored in her space, slaughter it, and give it to her parents to nourish their bodies.
When she arrived at the educated youth settlement, she first found a suitable place to release the wild boar, and then ran to the cowshed to call for her father, Luo: "Dad, I found a dead wild boar nearby. Let's go and get it together."
Upon hearing that there were wild boars, Luo's father immediately perked up.
